Build your first project. Clone any site there. Twitter, Facebook, Nairaland. Build. Nothing teaches you like doing. |
Play the hand that you have. A startup is a business. So you are asking if it's wise to start a business in Nigeria. If the only place you have access to is Naija, and you have the skills and know how on how to make money starting a tech business, then it's wise to start one. Businesses depending on govt such as financial transactions or moving goods through the port can be easily thrown amiss by govt. There are many business where you don't have to worry about the govt. You can build a mobile app, desktop app or software as a service. You can create online course etc. Focus on the positive with what you have and make it work for you. |
The best way to learn is online. Get an ebook, watch a youtube or udemy course. Use don't have to spend money. Only money should be towards your internet and computer. Most cost will be your time and dedication. |
Just building another B2C mobile app, using typescript, go for backend and the game differentiator for the app is tensorflow |
No one needs to unseat Zuckerberg. If you can code really good, can write and willing to put in the work you can build a project that makes you N500,000 monthly. We're not all greedy. Anyone that's interested in this type of thing, reach out to me. |
I suggest you go hybrid, it's the easiest. ionicframework - typescript/javascript react native - typescript/javascript flutter |
Bump, still hiring. |
I have a little side project and looking for an ionic framework programmer for pay. You also have to know how to use cordova. Email me at seg@bolonbolo.com |
You're not suppose to be working together in your PhD research. You are suppose to work on it alone and figure it out. There are tons of materials out there. Tons of papers and journals on distributed systems and databases. If you're really serious, get a copy of the book "Designing data intensive application" That will be a good start |
if you can't make use of Google, you might not be ready to learn machine learning. |
A book, get a book that teaches PHP and read it from front to back. Use php.net as supplement, write lots of code. |
There are lots You can use gitbooks or readthedocs I personally prefer gitbook since it uses simple markdown. |
Learn to program. It's nothing special to it. It's what's called a typical CRUD(Create, Read, Update, Delete) application, which is often created with MVC (Model View Controller). First you need to learn design, design what you want the app to do. User register, User login, User Logout, Admin forum creation. User's can make a post in a forum. Post will have title, body and date. User's can see list of posts in a forum. List can be paginated. User's can reply to posts. That's it. You write the code that does that, store your data in a database, wrap the front end with HTML. Put in the work, spend a year or two and you would dream big and want to program more interesting things. If you want to have your own forum. You don't need to program it, you can download and install forum softwares like vbulletin, phpbb, discord or whatever is in vogue these days. |
cool, but I didn't ask for Android app. If you know Java, you can learn golang and ionic framework. That's my tech stack. Level up fast and ping me once you do. |
"overthrown" |
If you're serious, you can checkout www.toptal.com But from what I have seen, you probably won't make it. The quality of Naija programmers are mostly terrible, and most on NL are horrible. there are a few good ones and they tend to hang on twitter. Best of luck. |
If you mean locations, then it's obvious. The infrastructure is not there, no one is going to invest and build out a data center without solid adequate power & security. Internet servers can't be backed up with battery & generator. Data centers need solid cooling, and AC takes a lot of power/money. It's just a bad investment for any outside company to come to Naija to setup a data center. Naija companies also don't have big infrastructure requirements. How many companies have need for 200+ servers in the cloud? So it's actually cheaper to just build out in countries that are stable even tho it means terrible connection and latency for those in Naija. |
Hit me, solid experienced program wanted. OS - Linux Backend lang - golang Frontend/mobile - ionic (if you don't know ionic, but have experience with react native, you can pick it up, it's simpler) I'm keeping it real simple, I can cover the other tech stacks. You must be a solid programmer, know how to write clean good code, have good design, and write unit, e2e tests. If I have to start debugging your code and fixing your bugs, I don't need you. Work your own time, remotely, wherever, whenever. If you are interested reach out to me. seg@bolonbolo.com |
change class Restaurant(): to class Restaurant: |
Horlartunes:Then reach out to me via email |
Ujawissy:Remote, work from anywhere you are. |

Hit me up seg@bolonbolo.com |
chemberlin:Shut up, why don't you show us your millions you have made from software you designed for yourself? That's why you will die hungry. Ode. |

Have you been coding PHP for many years but have not gone beyond few functions?, this thread tests your practical knowledge of the language.eww $ss = "Daniel"; $fs = "DanielTheGeek"; $conj = strstr($ss, $fs) ? "does not" : null; echo "'$fs' $conj contains '$ss'\n" ; |
Can't you'll tell that he works for Gucci? That's why he's always wearing those, he's marketing, he's an influencer. He get's those for free maybe get's paid a bit in the hope that he influences consumers to waste their money buying that rubbish. Stop calling him names, he's just a walking advertisement. |
