@ Tioluwa,

Yes, HND graduate can apply, the beauty of the IFP program is that once selected you become a Fellow and the IFP supports Fellow to undertake appropriate language study, training in research, computer skills and any other requirement prior to graduate enrollment in the universities/Colleges of your choice.

The Program will provide placement assistance to those Fellows who do not have prior graduate school admission.

Once selected, Fellows may enroll in universities of their choice in any part of the world, including their home country

The IFP provides support for up to three (3) years of formal graduate-level-study.

If you have any question, please let me know.

Religion / Re: Redeemed Church Opens World's Biggest Auditorium, Costs N7.7b by Segunusaid(m): 11:16am On Dec 14, 2007
@ all the good people of nairaland,

It is not unusual to see people using the poor masses as a rallying point to advance  mischievious ends, it is an ageless  practice,  little wonder Judas Iscariot while a woman was using her only treasure of alabaster oil to anonit (worship) Jesus, he said "why is this woman wasting the oil that should  ve been sold to take care of the poor" Jesus answered him " every time you have the poor with you but not me" the bible says that Judas said this not becos he care about the poor but becos he was a thief" How many of these people crying foul if entrusted with such money will not siphone part of it & contineu to meek the people of God.

I have no doubt that all those people criticising RCCG care less about the poor, but since it is natural to well up sentiment by pretendin that they love the poor, they may even do, but do they love God? they cannot love God becos God is not in thier knowledge.

the bible says the glory of the latter house shall surpass the former,
Pls leave them alone, if not careful, they will all go the way of Judas Iscariot.

I think some (not all) of the comments posted on this site is an abuse of free speech.
Religion / Re: Redeemed Church Opens World's Biggest Auditorium, Costs N7.7b by Segunusaid(m): 9:47am On Dec 13, 2007
@mazaje,

you need to cross check ur history book, the nation was founded by protestant saints that fled the roman persecution in europe, & it may suprise to know that the first 12 univerisities in the US like Harvard, Yale,Columbia etc all formerly christian seminary colleges and first generation of american leaders were men of God, maybe you can consult pple that ve sense of history.

If i may ask u, what do you think the popularised ameerican freedom is all about? go and find out , it was freedom to serve God free from persecution and oppression that reigned supreme in the then european society, hence all the persecuted protestants from all european nations find their way to great britain that was then protecting the protestant christians and eventually becos of the fire of persecution they moved en mass to america in the sixtheen century and founded the american nation b4 the british start their colonialism.

pls check ur records , am sure u will be informed better and u will know that america is the most religion nation among the western world. Have u asked yourself why almost every american president always a baptist and anglo-saxon- protestant? do you find out why Algore can not be president? or do you know of this determinant criteria they called WASP? (white Anglo- Saxon- Protestant), the motto of american nation, In God We Trust, do u think it is a joke? Have u ever had of the Puritans in America? do u know that great revival &the move of God was responsible for American greatness? pls i can go on and on in this direction.

my candid advise is that u should pls read more of ur history books.

bye

@nwando,

Is church money meant for sinking bolehole? or a place of worship meant to impress anybody? if u don't know about a matter, do u rush to conclude about such matter?

Have you been to the location of this auditorium? Am sure u re not. becos if u do, ur comments would ve been different.

Am askin u these becos i ve been there, & i know that the auditorium is by far small for the people that gather for the Annual Congress, last year the attendance of that program was over 6million people from all over the world and the auditorium in question did not even has a wall just  roof to cover people from rain & cold. The old auditorium which is been used for the regular Holy Ghost service  is only roof and concrete floor, and as such on special Holy Ghost service more than 500,000 people still stay outside, so is this new auditorium without a reason?, and for ur information majority of this work is thru volunteers church workers, so if u re a pastor presidin over a church & u ve over 500,000 hangin outside ur auditorium u will not do anything to address the situation?

Unlike other churches that built auditorium in faith or anticipation of expected congregation RCCG try to meet up with the need of large congregation. Even the much publicised auditorium can not even cover one-fourth of the congregation that will gather this coming Friday 14th Dec, if u think am lying tune to any of theTV in US or UK that re coverin this event to confirm.

nwando, have u ever ask urself who is behind gatherin of millions of worshippers from all over the world in one single event like this, maybe u can find answers to ur  puzzle!
Religion / Re: Redeemed Church Opens World's Biggest Auditorium, Costs N7.7b by Segunusaid(m): 1:34pm On Dec 12, 2007
@ poster & others,
most times i resist the temptation to joining issues with  pple on a topic like this, but sometimes silence means acquiscence hence this post, it never ceased to amazed me the level of moral bankcruptcy and dearth of knowledge among the pple of my generation, most especially with regards to the word of God.

I also take cognizance of the fact that most pple that sent recent post about the church of God and His servants may not necessary be christians but pple that want to use opportunity of this free medium to vent their anger at the advancement of the word of God and prosperity of the christian church, i also wonder if such pple can confidently declare their faith for us to know if they ve the right to insult the church & pastors in Nigeria.

It is not unusual for them to draw the fickle minded ones among us into the logic of establishing a correlation btw the prosperity of the christian church and  the suffering of the downtrodden masses of this country as if the church has taken over the role of government.

For those oppose to record breakin prosperity of the church , i want to sound a note of warning here; YOU AIN'T SEE NOTHING! This is just the begining.

Maybe i should ask you this questions:

do u build the largest auditorium for animals?
do u worship ur own god in the bush?
do u build an auditorium at that cost if there no need for it?
do u know that God's temples were the largest & the most expensive in the scriptures?
do u know that Redeemed Christian Church of God has a membership of about 4million?
do u know the annual congress has the peak worshippers of over 6million on the conservative side?
And do u know that RCCG has over 6000 parishes all over the world including Arab states Kuwait, U.A.E, pakistan & china, india and some other hard to reach areas not to mention western worlds?
if God is not helping this ministry, is it your own power?

If you doubt this, the annual congress is goin on till 15th of Dec, 2007 you can avail urself of the opportunity to confirm by login to the internet & searrch for RCCG website.

God commanded His children to give, is anyone has problem with that or would you ve been happier if His children disobey Him? If He asked them to give, is the money meant to be thrown into the lagoon or to be distributed on the street to those beggars? While the church may perform charity functions to its members and non-members, the church is not an NGO but  a spiritual organisation that has a GREAT COMMISSION TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL OF THE GRACE OF GOD IN EVERY NATION AND TO EVERY PEOPLE.

And if people are giving for the fullfilment of this COMMISSION,, is there a problem with that? or will a man give if he has not been blessed by the same God? God gave Jesus to the world, is anything too much for you to give back to God? out of your abundant or even poverty, do you pay for your breath? For your information God is not just a businessman, He's a serious businessman, He has eternal purpose & counsel that the gospel be preached to all of mankind as a witness to every people & Jesus will come, then we will know who is His servant and who is not

Needless to say here that the church of God has been a target for assult of godless men &women down thru the ages but it has ever prospered & it will contineu to be for ever & ever Amen.

I observed a trend on this forum that some (not all) of the pple that sent negative posts and comment about church & God's servant in Nigeria are mostly based abroad. Well, i understand the level religion apathy most esp. in the western world of today & and how such could affect pple that are not deeply rooted in their  God b4 their departure to seek greener pasture abroad, but i like to tell u that the foundation of those nations were rooted in God not minding the state of their lukewarmness now.

The Bible says, "righteosness exalt a nation but sin is a reproach for every people"

Am sure the people condemning churches & His servants here care less about the beggars posted here to well up emotions & sentiment, if they do why can't they just go ahead & start an NGO to take care of those beggars.

If you don't understand an issue or a topic, is it not better to keep quiet than to speak out of the vanity of a darkened  mind?
If Adeboye or Oyedepo are ridin the best cars or jets, is it too much? are those things made for a particular set of pple? doesn't we ve presidential fleet of aircraft or is obasanjo and Yar Adua of this world greater in status or in  substance than a man of God ?or what gives the impression that men of God or christians should not use the best cars or jets? My bible tells me that heaven is made of the street of gold. Those of us that knows Adeboye know he doesn't use more than a single care and no armed policemen as bodyguard, when he get a new car he gives the former out. I mean these are men that if you want to book an appointment with them, due to their preachin engagement you can be given a tally for Oct 2008, they go round the world preachin & you wonder if they ve time for family &friends just like you & I and yet they don't need a jet for that?

My advise is pple should refrain from misleading others on topic they know next to nothing about.

This post is not to shield fraudulent men of God from objective criticism but people should exercise some degree of sanity & decorum most especially on issues they re oblivion about and that relates to God & His servants, becos insultin some of them can put you in direct collision with God & u won't like that except u re ready for destruction.

thank you.

@ JAKUMO,

Your name in my language means "a wanderer" i don't know if there is any correlation between your name and your thought such that we might ve a "wandering thought" otherwise i will advise you to post meaningful thread on this site when you re sober rather than exposing shallowness or better still stop generalising and insulting Gods' servants.

If you think you can make your way to million by starting a church why don't you give it a try rather than calling pastors fraudster.

@sanni

i hope you can substantiate your claim that Adeboye has degraded himself so low that he has become a mouth piece and a campaign coordinator for Osoba
I think we shld be careful in pointing accusing fingers to Gods' servant, who are you to accuse another man's servant, to his masters he rises and falls,

@ others who are skeptical about prophecy of Nigeria greatness, i think u can check your bible if u believe in it and see if God has ever lied, besides God's word are yes and amen in christ Jesus, u don't ve to believe it, it may not conform to ur indicators or ur scientific analysis but God watch over His word to perform it and He makes all things beautiful in His own time not ur time. A day is like a thousand years b4 God and a thousand years is like a day b4 Him. Just because a prophecy did not come to pass when you expect it does not make God a liar or His servant a fraudster, however " the natural man cannot understand the things of the Spirit becos they are spiritually discern". There are so many example of Gods promises in His word spoken by His prophets, none of His word has fallen to the ground, you can check it out.

Cheers

@poster,

There will always be one problem or the other in marriage, i guess that's why the assertion "for better for worse" is added whenever couples are being joined together and infidelity is surely one of such.
While i will distance myself from beaten a woman but the truth is fighting, cheating, financial problems etc are things that every home will have to pass through at one time or the other, but i dare say here that they are not enough to terminate a marriage.

people give dog a bad name to hang it, but if you give a dog a good name, i am sure it can live up to that name.

I challenge you to do what you used to do at the begining of your relationship and see if you will not ve that wonderful man back inyour arms.

Love and adore him, call him good and sweet names and he will live up to it.

He's the father of your daughters, that makes him part of you forever.

Pls don't end this MARRIAGE
Family / Re: Twice Unfaithful And Lazy Husband: Should I End This Marriage? by Segunusaid(m): 11:14am On Nov 28, 2007
hi lady,

I think marriage is for better for worse or have you forgotten the oath you took.
pls don't ever think of divorce becos it will not make you happier nor will it help the upbringing of your daughters , think about your daughters, thank God for good job you can take care of them and give them a good future.

And your husband will not always remain like that, just don't give up on him, people change and he can change, change your attitude about him, just imagine if he's not there, life will go on.

Give him more time, men has ego and he may be threaten by your advancement or career wise but with assurance and love from you, he can change and cooperate with you. don't let him think you re not the woman he married or that you re now more sophisticated than before - the whole problem may be insecurity, be nice to him, rekindle his ego and redirect it to spark your home back to life.

Sometimes we men find it hard to handle career successes & upliftment of our spouses except some that have high self esteem & maturity, you need to realise that he has ego and except he sees humulity in you he will contineu to misbehave as a way to get back to you in frustration, not that he enjoys what he's doing, its just frustration.

I believe with your education and learning you can help him but if you want to show that with your level as lecturer you don't take any shit from any man then he will rather die than change that is the way men are made, he will die for his ego and honour. You can be a lecturer at work and ride shoulder high with men and men can even be at your call and becon but be a submissive wife at home, that s what makes the home work not the level of education, no other secret, remember you re not a lecturer at home but a wife. If it take phd and professorial title for home to work then probably professors would ve had the best of home but it is not.

Please love and submit to him, he's your husband, a home without an husband is like a house without a roof. I know i may sound old fashion here but marriage is also an old fashion institution and thrives on old fashion values, that's why this institution suffers again and again as society advances and children are the worst for it.

Look inward and examine yourself, pls be humble, let him see you as that woman he married eleven years ago, and by the way he was not like that when you married him, which means something is wrong somewhere and i guess it is with both of you and not him alone. He used to be intelligent and bright, he's still the same person just work at your home and everythung will be alright.
If you need more advise, reach me on Segunusaid07@yahoo.com

Remain blessed.

Romance / Re: Nigerian Ladies And Nigerian Movies by Segunusaid(m): 11:14am On Nov 26, 2007
@posters

I think the addiction to Nollywood has assumed a dangerous dimension, but i beg to say here that its not only the ladies, men are as guity of this addiction.

People should know the difference between winding away time and investing time. Time is money and time is life, the way some of us spend our productive years left much to be desired.

Though on the economic aspect it is a good thing for the country, the industry is growing and absorbing unemployed graduates which is a plus to the industry, but people should know how to order their life. For me i rather read books than watch junks video, i ve not even watch Nollywood in 7years. This is not to condemn Nollywood but great destinies are not made by watching movies except you re going to be an actor/actress, then you can go for it and improve yourself.

All the best.

Hi gatha,

I appreciate the mature way u handled my contribution, but as i said , that's the way i see it.
while i know that it may not be 'roses' for you to take such initiative neither does it mean you ve to sacrifice quality, but the way and manner those qualities were listed to say the list can make any responsible guy think you re a joker.

Am sure you pick something from my contribution though you have your right to disagree with some of my views.

Well, who knows i might just surpass your criteria, what do you think?

talk to me!

Hello gatha,
while i did not see anything wrong in looking for an husband on a site like this, but you make a mockery of your search when you listed some fabulous Holywood or Nollywood kind of criteria.

I think it is only few people that will be able to resist the temptation to make a jest of the whole initiative. However, one question that readily comes to mind is does your well thought out criterion makes a good husband or to say the least guaranteed happiness in your dream home? this is a question you need to ask yourself.

Better still, if i am a potential husband that fits into your well thought out criteria, don't you think submitting application to your dearest office with those criteria that call for self evaluation & assessment undermine my ethoes apart from the fact that it makes it look like i am the one that is desperate and not you.

I think a serious problem need to be address in a serious way, as i said early on, looking for husband here is not a crime (everywhere is a marriage market) but you know as well as i do that our environment is not particularly favourable to such bold attempt, but having defied all socio-cultural norms to aired your advertorial, it therefore presuppose that there has been a problem getting an husband which is a common place this day anyway, and for a critical mind it may not be far from the truth to assume that your criteria may be the underlying criterion why prospective husband has remain elusive. This is not to undermine your power and right to choice, but i think trusting God for a perfect husband would ve been better instead of putting up some wanting criteria.

Please this piece is not meant to insult your person its just the way i see the issue, if you need advice get in touch at segunusaid07@yahoo.com.

Thanks

Dating And Meet-up Zone / Re: Im Married But I Need A Male Friend by Segunusaid(m): 4:28pm On Nov 13, 2007
Hi lady,

sincerely you don't need an intimacy with any man to restore happiness and peace to your troubled home. Because doing so will bring more pain to your home. There is no way you will keep a relationship with another man and you will not have sex, to be frank with you , you re sex starved already and an intimate relationship will ignite the fire that you might not be able to quench. It is an express invitation to destroying what is left of your home, it will bring a collateral damage to your home.

Since you confessed that you re a christian, rather than seeking for a wolf in sheep skin why don't you go on your kneels and cry to God to restore your husband to you or do you think your case is beyond what God can handle. Remember God never fails, please for Christ sake try God and not Man. I believe by the time God restore your husband to you the blessing of God will come in multiple ways.

Please don't get back at your husband, it will further destroy your home, it is natural for the human nature to want to revolt and take vengeance even unconsciously but you must refuse all the attempt by the flesh to get its pounds of flesh from your husband because two wrong can not make a right.

Seek the face of God and in no time you will come back to this forum and share the testimonies of what God has done in your home. The man will definitely tell you what you want to hear

Men exploit women that are happilly  how much more you that they know your weakness, please beware that is not the solution to your problem.

Go to God in prayer and fasting and you will see what god can do for you. Don't quarrel with your husband, just ignore his unfaithfulness, pretend as if you don't see what is happening and God will give you victory.

Also you need to improve yourself i.e dress well, do everything to seduce him he's your husband and still perform your duty as a wife , avoid getting back at him and God will help you.

Get good books on marriage and relationship.

It is well in Jesus name

Politics / Re: Checks And Balances by Segunusaid(m): 9:12am On Nov 09, 2007
Hi Bhola,

I dare say that the principle of separationof power and checks and balances should be incorporated into every human organisation to avoid the tyranny of the individual, however the notion was originally meant to avoid overbearing influence of an arm of govt over another i.e the executive arm over the legislature or Judiciary . The effectiveness of this principle involves setting up institutional mechanism that will ensure the independence of each level of govt.

However, while there is need for a just zoning arrangement that will take care of all the stakeholders in a party and also there should be an internally inbuilt mechanism that will serve as checks and balances for a political party (internally) but the idea of checks and balances does not implies that a party that won in a general election most especially the (Anglo-American Winner take All presidency that Nigeria is currently practicing should of necessity zone their political offices to other party, except they re forming a government of national unity.

Having said that it is expedient that a political party in a fragile democracy like Nigeria should play down the winner take all syndrome, this is important in order to reduce tension and the desperation that always associated with election in Nigeria, since the oppisition is not likely to get any slut in the govt. if they loose election there may may tendencies to make election a do or die affairs.

Also, since Nigeria is a multi-ethnic society and ethnic cleavelages are very weak, it will not be out of order to ensure that the Winner Take All Syndrome is Totally Avoided to reduce tension and stabilise the body politics.

Politics / Re: Who Is Fooling Who? by Segunusaid(m): 4:28pm On Nov 07, 2007
B1 or whatever,

It seems to me that you re virtually oblivion of the situation that has to do with corruption in the Nigerian state. In fact your post did not only reveal your shallowness but to a large exent your ignorance about the institution you re quick to trample under your sponsored jackboot.

If you re a student of history or better still a student of contemporary Nigerian politics, you should be grateful to God that in the history of this great country no administration has attempted in this manner to tackle corruption as the Obasanjo admininstration.

As a matter of fact it was only in the last administration that public official has ever been convicted of corruption and instead of joining hands to support the good work of EFCC you re crying foulplay.

If you ve the understanding that corruption is a deep rooted problem that has defied all known strategies you will not be rubishing the effort of the government at fighting a monster that is reducing Nigerian masses to poverty and penury

To come to think of it , are you telling us that you re more patriotic than the Obasanjo of this world or the Ribadu who has put his life on the line to ensure that the monster of corruption is tamed in Nigeria. one thing you should realise is that Rome was not built in a day, it is even a good omen to see a government agency fighting corruption or maybe you don't know that it is public sector corruption that crippled the nigerian economy.

Pls go and resaerched this topic very well because you re argument is not consistent reality.
