Depends on the type of jobs. None of these cities is close to London & south east in terms of opportunities, however cost of living in these areas is crazy. I went to uni in Sheffield, it's a fun and bubbly city especially during academic sessions, otherwise pretty dead. Main advice- make sure your accommodation is near a tram/bus stop if not driving, the hills in that city are epic. Good luck

Which city is more favorable to live in between Salford, Leeds and Sheffield. Taking job opportunities, cost of living and less starring (joking) into consideration.

Talking of BDC, do anyone know how to gain the license from CBN?

ahiboilandgas:
the variance is too wide all expert has cautioned against it ......BDC people are having a field day with unjustifiable incomes ....20000 usd allocated to 5000 BDC everweek @410 ...they refuse to sell at an agreed margin @ 420 they sell at market determine rates of 490 ....so the get regulated usd from cbn and sell unregulated at 490 ...margin of 80 x 20000 usd weekly =1.6 ×4=7.2m monthly with a capital of 8.2m naira .....this unproductive ways of becoming rich in Nigeria .....a single person can own 5 bdc

Sports / World Cup Qualifier (africa) Under Or Over 2.5 Goals by segzeybaba(m): 11:08am On Mar 19, 2013
I want predictions for the WC Qualifier this weekend, winning BIG meaning even distribution among people that predict correctly. This prediction is based on Under/Over 2.5 goals to be scored in the following games;

Bet Guide
This is a straightforward bet on the match producing Under or Over 2.5 Goals in total during the game (both teams' totals added together). Of course, you cannot have 0.5 of a Goal – this simply means there has to be a definite outcome.

Matches with 2 goals or less means an Under 2.5 bet wins. Matches with 3 goals or more means an Over 2.5 wins.

So scores of 0-0, 1-0, 1-1 = Under 2.5 Goals. Scores of 2-1, 2-2, 3-1, 3-2 and so on = Over 2.5 Goals.

Games;
Saturday 23/03/13
Congo V Gabon (UNDER OR OVER)
Nigeria V Kenya (UNDER OR OVER)
Ivory Coast V Gambia (UNDER OR OVER)
Namibia V Malawi (UNDER OR OVER)
Senegal V Angola (UNDER OR OVER)
Tunisia V Sierra Leone (UNDER OR OVER)
South Africa V CAR (UNDER OR OVER)

Sunday 24/03/2013
Tanzania V Morocco (UNDER OR OVER)
Lesotho V Zambia (UNDER OR OVER)
Mozambique V Guinea (UNDER OR OVER)
Rwanda V Mali (UNDER OR OVER)
Congo DR V Libya (UNDER OR OVER)
Ethiopia V Botswana (UNDER OR OVER)
Ghana V Sudan (UNDER OR OVER)

C'mon Nairalander, LETS WIN BIG

GOODLUCK

If you dont mind the fees, you could apply for the visa, but if you mind, fill the online passport form on www.immigration.gov.ng, pay the application fee, and check the date you get, if its a long interview date beyond your intended date of travel, drop your email and i will tell you what you could do in time for your travel.

Thanks for your response, very helpful! smiley

The problem I have is that we are leaving in a couple of weeks and I want to avoid disappointment.
It is expensive but I don't really have a choice, I'll get his Nigerian Passport done when I get to Nigeria.

Passport Application takes 10days after biometric enrolment, but i think visa application takes about 7days after submission.

When do you plan to travel?

Hello All,

I was thinking of applying for a Nigerian passport for my son but after reading all the comments about long interview dates, I have decided to apply for a visa for him.

My main headache:::

I have checked the website and I can't seem to find any instructions as to how to submit visa applications. I can only see download form and fees.
After filling the forms and gathering all the documents, do I just go to the embassy without an appointment?

Yeah you have to submit your form, fees and documents at the embassy without an appointment, just walk in, you get a ticket and wait for your number to be called and you will submit the docs to the visa officer.

But think applying for a Nigerian Passport is cheaper and better option for your son. Long interview dates is a big problem but if you know your way, you will beat them but you gotta be smart to beat those people sha!

So the only irregularity is coming without the right documents?
Do you intend getting married or u want to go the unmarried partner route? Wherebout are you in the UK and do your partner get any social benefit? Drop your email if u dnt wanna reply on this public forum.
Travel / Re: Uk Settlement Advice From My Fellow Nairaland by segzeybaba(m): 7:08pm On Jan 11, 2011
Basic questions first even before thinking of going home,
Are you married?
What accommodation and maintenance docs have you got?
How do you intend to prove that the relationship is true?
How old is the baby? And have you come in contact with immigration? If yes why nd when?

@demi

theres an exception as stated under paragraph 6B

6B. Subject to paragraph 6C, a person (P) shall not be regarded as having recourse to public funds if P is entitled to benefits specified under section 115 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 by virtue of regulations made under sub-sections (3) and (4) of that section or section 42 of the Tax Credits Act 2002

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/policyandlaw/immigrationlaw/immigrationrules/introduction/

Stopping her tax credit claim will only make her fail the financial requirements of the spouse visa, so my advice is to keep claiming and whenever her hubby arrives the UK, she should notify them immediately so a joint claim for her and her husband would be initiated.
Travel / Re: Spouse Visa/indefinate Leave To Remain(uk) by segzeybaba(m): 2:16pm On Dec 09, 2010
@demi
She don't have to cancel her tax credit claim, as this is not a public fund as stated under paragraph 6 of d immigration rules.
Goodluck to her anyways.

No i can't married in Uk because my student visa has expired what i want to confirm is, me and fiancé are living together now but we don't have enough money because am not working and my fiance is only receiving £490 maternity pay, now my fiance is about to apply to council to pay for her house rent. I wanna know if we come to Nigeria to apply as a spouse is the Embassy gonna know that council is paying for her house? the house is a private rent house and the house agreetment has both our name. our child has not got British passport yet because they said it take 3 to 6 weeks but we have apply for it and the child has my surname
British passport dont take that long for children, try use the post office check and send, i think its about £6 or more + passport fees, and you will get the passport under 2weeks.
Very good the child has your surname and your name appear on the birth certificate. on the VAF4 they will ask, so you cant lie coz if you do then thats a straight refusal my guy. I learnt that certificate of approval will be discontinued in the new year so you will be able to marry in the UK, except you have enough money, then you and your spouse can travel to nigeria. You have to prove to the embassy you have about £160 per week available after paying all bills, to meet the maintenance requirement. How much do you have in your account and your spouse? It will surely be hard to meet the £160 per week except you have some savings in the bank. Have you seen a solicitor before deciding to go to Nigeria, has you can be eligible to apply outside the immigration rules for DLR? How old is the baby? Wherebout are you in the UK?
Travel / Re: Spouse Visa/indefinate Leave To Remain(uk) by segzeybaba(m): 7:46pm On Dec 08, 2010
@waslag
When u planning to apply? Is your name on the birth certificate n has your child go a British passport? Embassy won't know if your name on the house but you need to prove to them to intend to live together and that your accommodation is suitable. You have to pass the new English test too. Why can't you marry in the UK n travel 2 lagos to apply?

Best bet is to travel on your passport if u still got it. Using a false name will lead in2 bigger problem.
Travel / Re: Do You Get Fingerprinted When Traveling With A Traveling Certificate Out Of Uk by segzeybaba(m): 7:25pm On Dec 07, 2010
U shudnt worry bout d questioning but anyways it all depends on your intention anyways, if u can elaborate more on your intention and past immigration history that will help.
