I can't agree less with Chief Silvan Ebigwei's assertion.
I'm from Ogwashi Uku in Aniocha South LGA of Delta State but I was born and have lived all my life in Lagos. When I was much younger, my mom always correct me that we don't speak the Igbo language but the Ogwashi Uku own. This was strange to me because I could discern that our tongue with the Igbos in Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Abia, and Ebonyi states are almost similar. Based on her up bringing, acculturation and idiosyncrasies, she has a bias accepting Igbo as the tribe we come from. Something must have been amiss why this happened which a well written historical background and not oral tradition will help clear the air for our generation and the many more coming after us.
A man like Chief Ebigwei should write a book on the Origin and Culture of the Anioma people in Delta State if he hasn't.

I wouldn't say that I am sure why IPOB wants to bring the minorities on board, but we just cannot deny Igbos that have been harangued and harassed into denying themselves and their heritage by the Nigerian state. Most of their behaviour is simply survival strategy in a nation that being Igbo puts anyone at a disadvantage. I think that most of those peripheral Igbo, especially in Delta, Rivers and Edo went through a lot to have reached the consensus that survival comes before heritage. Reminisce what Igbos in the heartland must have gone through after the war to understand what those that were isolated from the mainland may have gone through. Southern minorities are free to reject Biafra, but our own people should get all the encouragement they need to understand the danger of being lefty behind.
