Obaseki was part of the same oshiomole government. For seven years in the administration of Governor Adams Oshiomhole, his predecessor, he served as voluntary Chairman of the Edo State Economic and Strategy Team as well as Chairman of Tax Assessment Review Committee for Edo State Internal Revenue Service (TARC) and the Committee on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises

And lastly, that obaseki didn't want to borrow is just the most foolish statement I have heard this year.
Do you know that within the first three years of obaseki govt he had already borrowed times two of the total debt the three previous govt left? Go verify this and if it's a false I owe you a million naira.

The major roads that are good in Benin were all done by the previous administrations.
Obaseki came to edo state to only destroy the little he met.
Can you list obasekis project he started and finish for seven years now?

The international community has congratulated the President-elect, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, after he was declared winner of the presidential election held on Saturday.

Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof Mahmood Yakubu presented the Certificate of Return to Tinubu in Abuja on Wednesday, having won at the polls with 8.8 million votes.

Meanwhile, the main opposition candidates Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, secured 6.9 million and 6.1 million votes, respectively.

The United States

The United States, through its State Department spokesman Ned Price congratulated Nigeria and Tinubu, yesterday.

"The United States congratulates the people of Nigeria, president-elect Tinubu and all the political leaders," Price said.

"This competitive election represents a new period for Nigerian politics and democracy," he added.

Price acknowledged the dissatisfaction among some Nigerians over the validity of the results, but called on the largest African country to embrace peace.

"We understand that many Nigerians and some of the parties have expressed frustration about the manner in which the process was conducted," he said.

"Nigerians are clearly within their rights to have such concerns and should have high expectations for their electoral process," Price said, urging political leaders to register their concerns through established legal "mechanisms."

"We call on all parties to refrain from violence or inflammatory rhetoric at this critical time," Price added.

The United Kingdom

Also, the British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, yesterday, congratulated Tinubu on election victory via Twitter.

"Congratulations to Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory in Nigeria," Sunak tweeted Wednesday.

Sunak affirmed that, "The UK-Nigeria relationship remains strong. I look forward to working together to grow our security and trade ties, opening up opportunities for businesses and creating prosperity in both our countries."

France

In the same vein, President Emmanuel Macron of France congratulated the former Lagos state governor on his victory at the polls.

Tinubu made this known while fielding questions from journalists after the presentation of his Certificate of Return.

He said he has received many congratulatory messages within and outside Nigeria, mentioning French President as one of them.

"Oh very many, many of that, in fact as far as Europe, the stock market reacted positively well, there was a goodwill message from Macron, the President of France," Tinubu said.

As usual, OBIDIENTS and APC minions will jump here to castigate the highest paying governor in Nigeria without knowing what the issues are. Obaseki became governor in 2016 and has been paying pensions and gratuities of all retirees from his tenure. On becoming governor, he met the mess left by Oshiomhole and promised to fix it. The four problems he met that he promised to solve were:

i. Digitization of the process to avoid difficulty in collection pension - DONE
ii. Payment of all pension arrears - DONE
iii. Harmonization of pension to reflect the new minimum wage of N30,000, now N40,000 - DONE
iv. Payment of backlog of gratuities - IN VIEW

We must empathize with our old folks because one of their worry is that the next Edo State governor might not treat their issues as well as Obaseki so they want to make sure the government pays their gratuities while Obaseki is still governor.

Gratuity to who exactly. Please you people should fear God at least

I am 100 percent sure it's the video and I have had to correct this misconception in several forums

The video is from the recently concluded joint south Korea, Japan and US military exercises and shows the US carrier task force group in parade formation.

There's indeed a B1 Lancer long range strategic bomber leading the formation of the air wing parade. Closely escorting the B1 are F35C fighters.

The civilian looking aircraft in the 2nd wave that could be mistaken for the speaker's aircraft is an AWACs from the carrier airwing escorted by F15C fighting eagle fighters

Note that there are 2nos aircraft carriers in the video, the only dual deployment of carrier groups in the past 12 months in the joint exercises mentioned above.

Normally, carrier task force groups have thousands of miles separating them as their geographic AORs are widely dispersed.

2ndly, in standard "alert" formation or combat stations, the surface ships of a carrier group can be dispersed well over 30-40km, the subsurface craft well in excess of 70km ahead of behind on flanking patrols and the CAG or combat air group would be flying 24/7 CAPs or combat air patrols in rotations of 4 fighters and 1 AWACs airborne and covering a 300km radius of control around the carrier group �

Take note that the journey of her flight wasn't telivised until the plane landed
