GboyegaD:It’s not a matter of seeking for validation. My brother having convictions or not you don’t just travel because of your convictions. Life abroad is life of uncertainty. U need to be properly guarded. Only fools travel without necessary information and so far Nairaland is full of many knowledgeable people home and abroad with wealth of experience |
Skyview01:Asking questions never goes wrong. The ones you ask in google who do you think writes them? Aliens? I’m not asking for validation. I’m asking for advice from well experienced people. Na where your knowledge end nai another person own start |
pacificom:One of the best advice. Thank you sir. |
bonnyhope:Lol why would I come here to lie? To what end. In what aspect do you even think I’m lying about? The crypto or what? Well if it’s the crypto then you have no idea. Educate yourself a little |
sammirano:Thanks bro for your advice |
Lekan239:Thanks for your input sir. You’re not far from the truth but I won’t say I’m broke. We’re in bear season so money doesn’t flow like that compared to bull season. Yes they are in good locations. I have a single property valued at 37m in a top estate. I don’t intend selling them to travel though. Even if I have to travel it would probably take a year or two, by then I would have generate enough money from crypto. That’s my fear too. 9-5 scares me like crazy. If I was still starting life with little to nothing, I don’t think I would here asking questions becos I know the part to follow |
ednut1:lol you have no idea. People are making a killing in crypto. In bull season people make millions of dollars with just $5k or even less. |
Kizzygentle:Haha money day crypto bro. If not for some bad trades I made, I’d probably be 10x richer right now and probably won’t contemplate japa but still thanks for your input |
Good day Nairalanders. Pls I need some mature advice because I’ve been in a dilemma for a long time now concerning relocating abroad or staying back in Nigeria. First of all I’m not a japa advocate. I believe if you’re doing well in Nigeria then there’s no point relocating abroad but I feel there’s so much uncertainty and I don’t know what the future holds for me in this country. Now I’m a married man of 30 years. I will turn 31 by this September. We have no child yet but wife is preg now. I have a B.Eng in petroleum Engineering but have never worked in my life. My current business is crypto trading which I have been doing for years now. During the 2021 crypto bull run I made lot of money and acquired some properties that’s currently valued atleast 60-70m naira in total. bought my car same year and got married same year to my long time Gf, settled some family members etc . I don’t have any other investments or business aside my properties and crypto portfolio because crypto trading has taken all my time and I won’t complain because so far it has been good. Making money in dollars while in Nigeria is bliss. Even though we have been in bear season since 2022, I still make some money every now and then that’s sustainable for now until we hit another bull run which is likely to happen from next year 2024. My fear lies here, on the long run crypto trading is not sustainable. If not for 2021 bull run I don’t think I would be in this position and even the projected bull run next year is not 100% certain I plan on learning a programming skill which is very difficult, I tried learning it late last year but stopped along the line because it was distracting me from trading and missing some opportunities in crypto because making money is most important. Coding would probably take me a few years before I start earning even though it is sustainable long term but crypto trading can be life changing but not sustainable long term . It’s more like a gamble most times. My plan A, is to gather enough money from now till 2025 which is the duration of the projected bull run if it happens and start investing in real estate development, Like building and selling and other businesses too but I don’t know how feasible that is in our present day Nigeria and if I don’t make my target amount, I might have to start with the available resources present. plan B, gather some money, learn a skill then relocate to Canada with my family via study route since I don’t have any real work experience aside crypto trading but that would mean me going to study and starting afresh. For my wife, she also has a degree in Human Resources with just nysc as working experience. She learnt wig making and installation and has been doing her online biz selling wigs etc. Abroad folks, what are my chances abroad considering my current profile. Is it worth it coming over there to start afresh And build? I have heard so many things how it’s hard getting a job and you have to rely on survival jobs for the first few years expecially for someone without any work experience. I really don’t like joining the bandwagon cos everyone seems to be leaving, I love to weigh my options and hate taking unnecessary risk that might lead to regrets, at the same time don’t want to regret not leaving since I’m still young and have the opportunity that’s why I’m here asking these questions to learn from experienced and matured family men home and abroad the action they would take. We learn everyday, For my unborn kids, if everything checks out, my plan is to give birth to them in either Canada or US for the passport and raise them in Nigeria and when they are grown, send them to study there and that is only if I’m not relocating. And if I’m relocating, what are the in-demand skills and professions I have to take since it’s clear I might be going to school because I hate survival jobs. What is your advice pls. Mature advice pls. Thank you 🙏 @justwise @Disguy |
Hello all, good evening. Pls I have a question. My wife and I had a bad experience during her last pregnancy and we lost the baby due to doctors negligence. Baby came out with birth asphyxia which was surprising because she attended all anti natal. Everything was fine till birth but we lost the baby some days after birth. Now she will take in in few months time and I want her to deliver the child in the US. I’ve never traveled out of Nigerian apart from Ghana same with her. Someone educate me on how I can get visa fast. The process , things I need etc. Do I state the reason of traveling? because I heard interview date is till 2024. Thanks |
Lipscomb:In your wildest dream.. Peter obi won in almost all the polling units in rivers state. |
Tinubuwins2023e:You’re sick!! I was live and direct in my polling unit till 10pm and I can confirm that obi won in almost all the polling units in rivers state. The cap was too much. In my polling unit pdp and apc didn’t get up to 20 votes combined. Labor party got 325 votes. Most polling units ballot boxes and bvas where hijacked |
Rubysugar:pls what skill did you learn. I’m trying to learn a skill but don’t know the part to follow. A little hint would really help thanks |

Emaprince:if you read between the lines you would realise the boy is not a smart liar. a kidney receiver obviously needs a matching donor so how come he was taking to the uk without prior test in Nigeria to comfirm its compatible. the fact is, the boy is aware of the kidney donation but played a fast one on the senator.the senator made promises to the naive young man but I guess he had a rethink and probably took advice from people so he played the senator. either ways, the senator is going to jail. |
aidameoryou:Good day bro. Well crypto is a fast way to make millions and also the fastest way to get broke if u invest in a coin and the coin under performed. There’s no rocket science about it. Sometimes u get lucky enough to invest in a good project very early and that could be the turning point for you. Been doing this for years and I won’t tell you I’ve had smooth years. It’s all perseverance. Another thing I’d like u to understand is that this is a risky venture. . I mean you don’t buy a token with alll your savings or money u need urgently. U must be comfortable enough before you invest or u get ur self stucked and probably sell at a huge loose when you need money urgently or broke. It should always be cash you don’t need for atleast 1 year or 2, and expect the worse too. It’s a risky business but highly rewarding. I mean HIGHLY ReWARDING. For starters, get ur self familiarize on how to trade coins on exchanges like Binance, gate.io. Etc. u can download those apps on play store or AppStore then watch some YouTube videos on how to set them up. It’s easy just register ur acnt and set it up. Be ready sha it involves a lot of money. |
Karleb:guess I didn’t think about all these. Thanks for the advice. Mission aborted |
frozen70:thanks sir for the advice. To think that I already made up my mind to go fix the house. I think I just woke up to reality. Thanks again. Plans canceled!! |
garriAndsugar:Hell No I don’t even plan to even sleep there for one night. I’m just doing it cos I feel bad people still live there and also shameful because I can’t even go to that village with that house like that . No I I’m not involving them for financial help but to inform them. |
Good morning everyone. Last night I was on a thread about a guy contemplating to build his house first or complete his mother’s house. That topic is somehow related but completely different to mine so I want to share with people in the house for advice. To cut the story short, I come from an extended poor family where even a good 3 square meal to some people is a big deal. I grew up in the village from childhood till I was in secondary school before my father died and I moved to live with my mother( my father had different wives that where not with him before he died.) My mom gave me a good life. Better education And all and now I’m 30, doing well in life. I mean very well. My father has 5 brothers all still alive. They are all managing life and even their children not doing so well. Though I have tried to assist most of them the little way I can Now, the family house in the village that my grand father build. Same house I grew up as a child is a complete mess. Its so bad that I can’t even drink water there currently. It’s to sad all my uncles could not renovate their fathers house. I don’t blame them though. They are not doing well. About two of my uncles still live in that house that the roof is almost falling and sometimes I feel ashamed because that’s where I grew up. I can’t even take anyone there because it would be too embarrassing for me. Due to this I haven’t been to the village for long Few years ago, the most senior uncle did foundation at the back of the house and raised it up a bit but couldn’t complete it since then and even all the brothers can’t help. Now I feel I’m in a better place to atleast help complete it. I already made up my mind and was traveling this month end for it. Even though it would be a gradual process. ( just to lay few blocks to lintel then roof it.) until I read that thread of that young man and some comments made me think twice. Pls experience elders in the house ur input is needed thank you. I want to know if I’m making the right decision. If I need to involve all my uncles even though they are all not in unity. It’s a bit confusing because my father is late. If he was a life I know it would be easier. I would just put him in charge of the project. Now, my major reason of doing this is because I feel bad people are still living in that building that would soon collapse and also for the fact I grew up there and in my current position I can’t do anything about that house. |
2018 was exactly when this thread was created and I can remember vividly how I spent my whole night reading peoples success stories. back then I barely had 100k in my account not to talk of making 1 million. damn!! how time flies. Today the story is different. I've been involved in crypto trading back then when this thread was created but as a newbie. I just knew few things. I know I had a few coins back then but they all dipped and I didn't understand the Market very well. 2021 I broke even after investing in a coin I didn't think would yield a good profit till after 3 years. (Shiba Inu). my people I blew. after just 2 months I checked my account and behold $100k with an investing of maybe $500. crazy right. I was part of those that cashed out silly profit from that coin even tho I sold too early. if I had left it for a month xtra, it would have been a $million but I thankGOD for everything. since then my life has never remained the same as I have been going higher. |
MarveworldG:thank you for your input. I really don’t buy the idea of bolt. I know it’s a little lucrative but that’s if u have good people as drivers. So many uncertainties in it. |
Happy prosperous new year guys.hope everyone is good. I’ve been confused lately on the type of business I need to set up with atleast 10m to 20m naira. |
Iamagoodgirll:you can buy but not through exchanges dealing with banks. You can buy using peer to peer |
We’re being govern by stupid and backward leaders. For those trading bitcoin pls always use peer to peer for your transactions. That way you’re dealing with an individual selling to you and not directly from the bank. They can only flag it if they know the source of the funds. Always use remitano and Binance peer to peer for buying and selling btc. Nonsense and ingredients ![]() |
