ow11 you are a big idiot. what has amodu given to you that you are so obcess with 3 defensive midfilders. if an argentina midfield consist of old man like veron, and a red card waiting to happen like masherano then why should nigeria also parade ball winners instead of ball dribblers. do you know that this is one of the main reason that amodu got fired for playing all defensive midfilders. imagine a times that we badly need an attacking midfilder and the only player playing that role for his club is dropped {h.lukman} while 3 useless defensive midfilders that have not scored any goal or any shot on target for 3 years 'mikel is on your team. ow11 please you don't know anything about nigeria football just shut the hell up. and remember never ever ever suggest nigeria to play 3 defensive midfilders ever. instead we should play all defensive players nonsence
JeeZ! You're such a slowpoke. Must you go about calling everyone who has a contrary opinion to yours an idiot or a fool? Post how you intend to play against Argentina (if you were the coach of the Super Eagles) given their line-up and how you'll neutralize Messi instead of criticizing and cursing other peeps. I've noticed this about you. . , you never post your own line-up, starting 11 or formation or tactics. . . you just wait for others to post theirs, then you criticize and curse them for their opinions. PLEASE, PROVE ME WRONG .
Sports › Nigeria Vs Argentina: Curtailing The Messi Threat? by semid4lyfe(mod): 12:31pm On Apr 22, 2010
Alrite guys. . . .Diego Maradona has already announced the line-up of his Argentine team that will face our Super Eagles on June 12 and as expected, it has that little devil and current Best footballer in the world, Lionel Messi.

Maradona spoke freely about who will be making his final squad, the troubles currently engulfing his beloved Boca Juniors plus his unfortunate dog bite. He also revealed that his starting XI for the Nigeria game will be: Romero; Otamendi, Demichelis, Samuel, Heinze; Jonas, Veron, Mascherano, Di Maria; MESSI, Higuain or Tevez
http://www.goal.com/en/news/60/south-america/2010/04/17/1882973/south-american-dispatch-diego-maradona-names-argentina-squad

From 2005 to now, we have played Argentina twice (Holland 2005 and Beijing 2008) and on both ocassions, Messi has hurt us. . . first getting a penalty against us in 2005 & providing the defence-splitting pass that led to the goal by Angel Di Maria in Beijing 2008.

Now, I believe all the 10 outfield players pose a threat to us but the threat of Messi is the most significant IMO. . . so the question is how do we curtail/neutralize Messi? Do we give him a man-marker?. . .the most effective example of this method I can recall is how Godwin Opara man-marked Ronaldo in the 1st leg of the Strasbourg vs Inter Milan UEFA cup match some years back and rendered him ineffective and impotent.

OR

Should the coach adopt a different strategy altogether in curtailing/neutralizing Messi?

Oya Nairaland highly-rated/first class Naija footie analysts. . . .Sagamite, Ibime, FBS, Honeric01, Rasputin, Ow11, Eastbay, Iyineda, Kgdavid, na so, hollandis, dis guy, Ayusco, tkb417, mbulela, largerwhenindoubt, imeobong, 12large, gxxxxx etc and all the other analysts too wack to mention, it's time to play Football Manager once again.  We've all criticised our previous coaches and the present one, drawn up our 23-man list and selected our starting XI's but this time lets talk specifically on strategy, special tactics and techniques on how you'll (assuming you were in Lagerback's shoes) keep Messi quiet and render him ineffective for the duration of 90 minutes keeping in mind Maradona's starting XI and formation the Argentine team will be playing.

Oya, ball dey una court. . . .make una begin dey talk. .  grin grin grin

@Semid4lyfe

Thing is, it's more about the greater good than justice.
This is like handing out Presidential Immunity to the Russians so as to let the peace deal live.

I also smelt the subtle plea for help, if she had told him everything she knew, then it would have been understandable.

Even as much as they've tried to create another David Palmer, this one doesn't just cut it. . . the differences are bold. David Palmer would have pleaded with Jack to wait till after the peace deal to start his thing.
Lol, I bin think say na only my antannae pick up the presidents subtle plea to Jack. I tell my guy wey follow me watch am say na wetin she dey tell jack indirectly be that but the guy just dey follow me argue say na lie grin grin grin grin

No other show plays on the grey areas in our moral decisions like 24.
Time and time again, we've seen US Presidents having to make extremely tough decision . . .

Of course we'll have the benefit of hindsight with us next week, but the President had to do what she had to do.

And in my opinion, she is lucky that Jack wouldn't back down for no one. . . at least he could be the one to get Dana without presidential authorisation.
Just the same way her aide had to go behind her back to try to get President Hassan.

It just means the right thing gets done and she goes blameless.
Brilliant and spot-on analysis! American Presidents have enormous power but often times this power can be a heavy burden on them cos they have to make some extremely tough & difficult decisions.

BTW, am I the only one who thinks the decision by President Taylor to go on with the peace deal at the expense of truth & justice is not in line with her character? This was a woman that prosecuted her daughter, sent her to prison and ultimately ruined her own marriage all in the pursuit of truth & justice. Even when faced with the risk of an entire city been obliterated by nuclear explosives, she refused to accede to the demand of the terrorists and hand President Hassan over. . . .are the producers of 24 now saying her deep moral convictions have been overcome by this her quest for peace? She may get a peace deal signed on paper but that doesn't guarantee there'll be peace on the ground.

Anyway, I agree with eldee - By going rogue & disobeying her orders, what Jack has done is giving the president deniability and making sure she goes blameless. . .[s]I even thought in a subtle way, she told Jack to do what he had to do, lol[/s].

TV/Movies › Re: 24 Season 8 Begins 17th Jan by semid4lyfe(m): 3:44am On Apr 21, 2010
Episode 18. . . .lacked the fast paced action, twists & turns,  on the edge of the seat suspense  and shock of the previous episodes but what it lacked in this, it more than made up for with high-stake politicking, mind games and battle of wits.

Kai, I just love Charles Logan. The guy never fails to impress me. . . .see how he psyched President Taylor. Wetin be that Julius Ceaser saying again? There is a tide in the affairs of men which taken at the flood leads all to fortune. . .meaning Now or Never AND for the greater Good cos every one will benefit. .very apt and Simply CLASSIC!

The confrontation between Jack and President Taylor nko? That was the 2nd highlight of the episode 18 IMO.
^^Jack - Madam President, I don't want revenge, I want Justice
^^President Taylor - And I want peace

Can Jack get his justice while at the same time President Taylor gets her peace?Hmmm. . .make we dey watch. Looking forward to episode 19.

Christy Essien Igbokwe, Sonny Okosun, Chris Mba and the other peeps you have mentioned may have influenced Raggae but they didn't do/sing/play raggae music. . .their music was more of highlife IMO.
