My Personal Experience some years back

Then, to play the game, u gats send your name & location in an SMS to 132 (text cost N100 then). You're then sent an automated 'softball' question with 4 options eg which of these is not a state in Nigeria? A. Lagos, B. Kano, C. Ogun D. yaounde. you then send the answer to 132 again ( Costs another N100) and u get an automated reply like - CORRECT, but to increase your chances of been called, please play again ( To play just once costs N200).If u like, play 50 times, u'll get the same reply over and over again.I once played 10 times like that in 2006 in the space of 1 week (costs me N2000) and then almost 2 months later, I got a call and the following conversation ensued:

Female - Am I speaking with yours truly?
Moi - Yes
Female - My name is 'blablabla' and I'm calling from WWTBAM
Moi - It's about time
Female - Please, did you send your name and location in an sms to 132?
Mo[/b]i - Yes, I did
[b]Female - Did u text the 132 with your line or someone else's line?
Moi - I used my line, of course.
Female - I'm calling to inform u, u've been shortlised amongst 200 peeps amongst who 8 will be invited to the studio to play 'fastest fingers first' on 'so-so' day and probably get on the hot seat

After the conversation, I checked the date NNPC was established and I found out it was 1977. (I was just 2yrs off the mark) and yet I never got called.In summary, the most difficult part of the show is getting to the studio and not the hotseat itself.

Now do the maths of those who send sms to 132 daily hoping to get to the studio, and how much MTN makes from these sms'es and how much they give back in return- peanuts. From me alone, they made N2000 in just a week and I know millions of peeps text 132 daily just to get on the show, ~~I haven't even added the homeplay which is another means of them making money from gullible peeps.

Guy, in short to get to the studio no be yam, and even if u get to the studio and you don't get on the hot seat for your particular episode, you gats go back home and start texting 132 all over again.

In short, they make billions and give out how much? 10M? or is it 20M now? I don't even watch the show anymore. I no dey like make anybody dey 'open office'' on top my head.

Finally, I ain't trying to dissuade anyone from playing- I'm just relaying my personal experience back then. Anyhow sha, Congrats to those who've won and I wish those who're still aspiring to get on the hotseat the best of luck.
