And Atiku is the answer?
By that time he’ll be 80, dementia don set in, aall his goons in the cabinet will be taking their share of the loot and when he’s interview, he’ll tell us he’s not aware and can’t remember

All the Resources he wasted since, that’s when he’ll now try to recover them thereby plunging us into more debts and probably sell all national assets to his goons

You see why them suppose arrest you?

Nothing is impossible but I doubt.

Remember when he got that 100m donation to his NGO, he cried out and posted it online, afraid that someone was trying to use the NGO to launder funds. He even tagged EFCC to investigate and unmask the donor in that video until Don Jazzy revealed it was from him.

Someone who is well aware his NGO can be a conduit for cleaning illicit funds will not engage in such.

With due respect, that is an insult to the late learned silk.

VDM is nothing but a clout chaser and the average Nigerian is gullible.
Labeling VDM a clout chaser doesn’t erase the positive impact he’s made or the genuine goodwill he enjoys from ordinary Nigerians.

Tell me, which other Nigerian internet personality will launch an NGO and raise over N70 million in 24 hours, with the bulk of donations coming from ordinary Nigerians contributing their modest 5k, 10k, 20k? That speaks to the belief people have in him and what he represents. It’s the same reason many posted Free VDM on their socials and were willing to boycott and cancel GTBank.

Personally, I’m indifferent to him but I can objectively admit that despite his theatrics, he’s been a force for good in several ways.

Yea, a degree in mass communication, tailored to the needs of the modern times is a pretty decent deal.

The unbundling makes sense, and theatre arts is different from film and multimedia. Film and Multimedia is closer to information and media studies than it is to theatre arts.
I opined Film & Multimedia Studies and Theatre Arts are similar because I was looking at both in terms of movie/TV & Theatre productions which are essentially performing arts, and require the same professionals and BTS personnel.

Also themes of commonality will be acting, script writing, production, directing, casting, speech & dialogue, sound production, continuity etc.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by semid4lyfe(m): 10:41pm On May 05, 2025
NUC has unbundled Mass Communication and elevated it to a full Faculty with the following departments:

Public Relations
Advertising
Broadcasting
Film and Multimedia Studies
Development Communication Studies
Information and Media Studies

When I was in Uni, Mass Communication was known for having never produced a First Class graduate. That record was later broken and the department has produced some first class graduates in recent years.

The department also began its exams two weeks ahead of other Faculties (alongside the Faculty of Education) because of the large number of courses that had to be written by the students.

The unbundling is a good development and brings it inline with current demands, and offers students the opportunity to specialize in their areas of interests that align with their career aspirations.

I may be wrong but I kinda feel Film & Multimedia Studies is a duplication of Theatre Arts.

That's why commercial leases have "make good" clauses

Landlord rent you a flat to live in, you modify am to Boutique or shop in a way that the Landlord will have to incur costs to make turn it back to a residential, you come dey shout say you do Landlord favour
Good point but I think the economic downturn and skyrocketing rent prices are the main reasons for this trend.

Rent whether residential or commercial has become so expensive that many entrepreneurs can’t afford separate spaces for living and business. As a result, they rent residential apartments and convert parts of them for work. This is especially common among fashion designers and photographers.

My tailor's shop rent was increased by 100% last year. Rather than paying that, he moved from his 1-bedroom to a 3-bedroom apartment. He turned the living room into his work space, the dinning area into the changing room and store, and converted the master bedroom into the family living room, with the other two rooms as bedrooms.

The photographer we use for our photoshoots operates the same way too. He runs his studio out of his apartment.

Both are talented, well known, and have plenty of customers. To avoid taxes and levies, they don’t display business signs or banners. Very coded setups, but business is booming.

What u call extensive modifications and redesigns are normal improvements every decent person will do to a rented apartment to make it livable .

I’m not specifically referring to this lady’s video alone , but talking in general terms here . I have the example of my friend up there 👆. He only made the house more livable by normal retouches to the parlor , changing the already cracked WC in the rest room , etc .

These things are normally a plus to the landlord and he will be the one to benefit from it in the long run. But imagine the landlord increasing rent in the second year and still increased rent in the third year . That is just pure wickedness aimed at forcing the tenant out so he can rent the improved apartment out to another person who will pay more for the improvement the old tenant did.

Do u think such landlords will go to court ? They definitely won’t
.
I agree its wickedness from the landlord but he is at liberty to increase the rent despite the tenant's renovations and improvements unless there is a signed and legally binding agreement that fixes the rent at the old rate for a specific period.

Make I yarn you my story.

I moved into my current place 15th January 2023 but the landlord gave me two verbal concessions (1) My rent will run from 1st February to January 31st annually, and (2) He wouldn't increase my rent for at least 5 years.

I paid, he wrote receipt and true to his words the receipt was from the period, 1st February to 31st January.

But when he would bring his lawyer drafted agreement, I noticed the 5 years rent fixation clause was missing. I had moved in already, mounted dish, installed ACs, fixed net doors and other minor stuff. Also, the place was a bargain compared to other similar houses in the vicinity so I just signed and sent his copy back to him.

This year February when I renewed my rent for the 2nd time, the landlord sent my receipt a week later with a notice of rent increment effective from February 2026 when I would have clocked 3 years in the apartment. He cited inflationary trends, and bringing the house at par with other rental properties in the area as reasons for the increment.

I consulted two lawyer friends, and they asked if the 5 year rent fixation was stated in the agreement to which I replied No. They both said I have no case and the landlord is free to increase the rent despite his promise to me. They even commended him for leaving the old rent for 3 years and giving me such a long notice of rent increment. Na so I take swallow my L.

Morale of the story is the Landlord is at liberty to increase rent annually unless there"s a legally binding agreement that will prevent him from doing so.

I support this lady 💯

She renovated the house she rented from the shittty condition she met it only for the landlord/caretaker to evict after giving the apartment a complete facelift .

She gave them aura for aura by destroying most of the improvements she did to the apartment making sure the landlord does not profit from her loss by renting the place out to someone else at a ridiculously higher price courtesy of her improvements
I am really surprised by your stance.

The truth is the lady has no right to alter the property without the consent of the landlord via a signed and legally binding agreement.

The extensive renovations, modifications, redesign and improvements she did are sara for the Landlord and by removing them, she has damaged the landlord's property and violated the tenancy laws.

If the Landlord takes legal action, she'll undoubtedly lose.

As wicked as the action of the landlord is, he'll win because emotions have no place in court.

Away from the legal aspect, her action also has future consequences for other prospective tenants as realtors will refuse to build properties for rent.

Also, Landlords will profile and refuse to rent properties to certain people, require huge security and caution deposits which will invariably make apartments more expensive, unaffordable and worsen the housing situation.

I guess NELFUND has questions to answer as per the screenshot attached in your email. Although I'm curious at to why this student had to pay out of pocket despite knowung he has applied for the student loan.

I
Many students paid before the NELFUND bill was passed and money was disbursed to the institutions.

In many schools, students cannot do course registration and other documentations without paying their fees.

The institutions should reimburse the students in full.

thats why i said LASG does not always follow through

pure water was banned from janaury 1 this year, but somehow it is not in effect
plastic bags were also banned, especially from supermarkets, but now they are doing some kind of surcharge thing instead where you pay for the bag

i had expected no pure water from january this year, but here we are.
What's the alternative if LASG follows through with the ban on pure water or is the water corporation supplying water to homes?

No be everybody fit afford bottle water & water dispenser.

You are right , basic Health insurance is still better than not having health insurance coverage at all .

What I do and always others to do (if they have the means) is to have two hospitals they use.

1. Hospital which Ur HMO provides under Ur NHIS/Health Insurance package. You can always take basic Healthcare issues to this hospital with u not paying out of pocket.

2. Hospital which u know and trust to be of much quality which can manage Ur health needs at premium value. For example if ur wife is pregnant and needs both antenatal and delivery services ; u don't want tí subject Ur wife to the hospital haggling with HMO back and forth on whether or not to administer a particular treatment on her or not. All u will care about at that point is the safety of Ur wife and child. Paying out of pocket for this may not be out of place if u have the means.
The emboldened is very necessary and there's a private hospital we're registered in. But the hospital is damn expensive and we've only used it once, and that was because doctors in public hospitals were on strike.

It was in 2019 I think. Small drip wey dem administer for my daughter with 3-days worth of floranom, antibiotic syrup, Zinc sulphate tablets, and ORS wey dem give us, I pay 50k.

Since that day, I dey always pray make Doctors in public hospitals no go strike.

If you mean the Tottenham coach you're right. That's the reason they have high scoring wins and losses.

That's how the brazilian teams of old played and blew off all their opponents with wide margins.

It took a defeat to a defensively solid Italy led by Paolo Rossi in Espana 82 for Brazil to drop their all-attack philosophy for a more pragmatic playing style.

HMO is good but if u have an underlining ailment or major ailment, most HMOs will exclude its treatment from their package which means u may have to pay for its treatment out of pocket . Some of them will put the treatment of such ailment on their most expensive package like platinum .

Others will just put a moratorium on the coverage of underlining ailments like asthma for a certain period . For example they may say asthma is not covered for the first 24 months of the policy I.e u can’t get treated for asthma for the first 2 years u buy the HMO plan .

HMO is mostly good for general healthcare needs like going to the hospital for malaria treatment , going to dentist for scaling and polishing , seeing an ENT once in a while , seeing optician for consultation and treatment , etc .

The corporate plans which companies buy for their staff are in different grades and usually provides more comprehensive coverage . The retail plans on the other hand are more expensive and sometimes they have limitations .

One major issue I have with HMO from experience is at times hospitals won’t give u the necessary and most effective drugs because they have a feeling ur HMO won’t reimburse them adequately for some treatment they administer . There are some tests that hospitals will be seeking approval for hours from HMOs before carrying out on u; when u ask the hospital how much is it ? U will discover the test may not even be more than N7,500 🤦‍♂️

I wonder if people who are under health insurance in the UK, Canada , Australia and the US fail something similar .
We have only ever gone to the hospital for general healthcare needs but I believe you're right because when wifey stayed in the VIP ward after the birth of #1, NHIS did not cover for the VIP ward so I had to pay for that out of pocket. This is also a pointer that FG subscribed employees to the most basic package of the HMOs under the NHIS.

Also, the designated NHIS hospital pharmacies stock the cheaper alternatives of drugs, and never the expensive ones. Any drug above 5k like this, dem go tell you say dem no get and you'll have to purchase it outside.

But I still consider it a win to take a child to the hospital, see a consultant pediatrician, run blood tests, be given drugs and pay a 10% cost that may amount to a paltry sum of N500 - N1000. I mean, when wifey dropped #3 last year our total bill amounted to only N1500 due to NHIS/HMO coverage.
