Makes it complicated to be honest. To put children that young in commercial and with just one parent will be challenging for long distance
Only 2 options in my opinion.

1. They man drives and they all go in the car.

Or

2. They split up by boarding two separate commercial vehicles.

The father goes with the 5 year old in one vehicle and the mother goes with 3 and 1 year old baby in another.

^^ If the mother drives she takes the car and the 2 youngest with the father taking the oldest.

(I see a problem here, when one party is driving an adult need to be free to take care of other needs like crying, feeding, changing diapers for 1yr and 3yr old)

Man like me, I'd rather make extremely dependent kids make am to our destination versus losing all 5 if the worst happens.
I take it you'd split the family. How? Kindly be more specific

The first time I heard of this, I was surprised because one girl whenever coming to school will never travel with her brother and I wondered why you take that decision, After I thought about it, it weirdly makes sense from a risk management and Disaster recovery POV

But if the family has one car and you have to say go from Lagos to Ilorin or driving from Maryland to Atlanta, will that mean some will drive and the others will split into 4 different commercial vehicles?
Good question. Imagine this.

Family of 5 - Parents and 3 extremely dependent kids (5, 3 and 1 year olds).

Flight not an option due to cost.

One car.

Dem wan travel from Abia to Lagos.

How dem wan take move?

Even witches wen dey fly no dey travel Naija roads 2 times to deliver message.

While death is inevitable and unpredictable, traveling inter-state by road in Nigeria twice in a day, where our highways are nothing but glorified dead traps increases the chances of harm occurring. She survived traveling to Lagos but somehow, the guy lost every sense of rational thinking and decided to ask her to return, knowing she submits to him. While death is unpredictable, you and I make conscious decision daily that we believe decreases the probability of death.

A few decades ago, after my dad lost a brother, he made a decision that we still respect till today. Neither him nor any of his children, especially his boys ever fly or travel together, irrespective of the circumstance. The boys get on different flights to the same destination, never in the same car if traveling long distances. You may argue it is extreme or makes no sense but he knows what he is doing and is guided by his life experience.

The guy should have camped her somewhere, especially since a child that is your own blood is involved. Find small motel around you or a family/ trusted friend make e help you for the day. The banny wen make am lose him sense will leave him after this incident, e sure me die!
The emboldened hit me cos I've driven interstate with my entire family in tow from the South-east to the South-west, and returned back to the East a few times in the past few years.

Big Big Risk but

Accident ❌
Kidnappers❌
Vehicular issues❌

I gats still run the route later this year for my younger brother's wedding in Lagos, and flight no be option.

Most likely na only me go travel so I go use commercial bus.

The roads have been kind and I'm thankful.

The dialogue is in English, Hebrew and Persian which is natural for a series set in Iran with Israeli and Iranian characters.

If I had to apportion percentages, I'll say it was 60% english, 30% persian and 10% hebrew.

Na only the season 3 get subtitle mismatch. It's a good series and if you can overlook the subtitle issue, you'd be thankful you watched it.

With your dislike for foreign language/non-english movies, I take it you haven't seen Apocalypto, Passion of the Christ, IP Man, Red Clif, Enemy at the Gate etc?

Portable ọmọ olalomi was arrested by Kwara state police command officers in Abeokuta and was shipped to Ilorin, Kwara state immediately for the various offences he allegedly committed against the person of Saheed Osupa.

Portable alleged Osupa had his song yanked off digital platforms because he sampled one of his(Osupa's) songs. Osupa's management has come out to explain that Osupa is now under a global music brand that takes intellectual property law serious and they are the ones who took down portable songs even without Osupa having a say in the matter.

Portable being an illiterate doesn't care about the explanation and just thinks Osupa himself is the one behind his predicament. He keeps calling out Osupa, threatening him, inciting public hate against him and dragging his name in the mud.

My Opinion : I think Portable does these things to just remain relevant. He wants these controversies so he can record new singles from these ordeals

To be honest, I have nothing against the guy, although I may have come off as a hater because of my criticism. I took that hardline stance because of how the previous poster wanted to use him as a standard for quality artists.

Anyway, I'm happy for him, sha. It’s not easy to dedicate almost two decades of your life to a particular career without gaining the recognition or money you desire. I hope this will be the beginning of better things for him!

Dacoureeeeee
Yeah, I'm happy for him too.

I just remembered Kauna Allah was not originally sang by Jeremiah Gyang.

The song was originally sang by Sgt Plus and he featured Jeremiah Gyang on the chorus. I think Jeremiah Gyang was also the producer.

The song blew somewhat and Jeremiah Gyang recorded unauthorized versions of the song featuring Skales and MI taking advantage of Sgt Plus absence in the country due to schooling or something.

This caused Sgt Plus and Jeremiah Gyang to fall out with each other.

Interesting memories.

Bro… Skales was not a good or decent rapper. It’s funny you mentioned Jeremiah ft. Skales because I still listened to that song this morning, and Skales was just there—nothing special. In fact, if you erased Skales from that song, it would still be a hit because of Jeremiah’s hard work and talent, not Skales.

By the way, I’m not hating on Skales, but he’s not someone any music head should brag about. At his best, he’s not even an average artist. Las las…I respect his hustle!
To me, he was a decent rapper but make we just agree to disagree.

How can someone with any knowledge of music claim that CAPital F.E.M.I would rival Joe and Craig David any day? Is it the same Kenny’s Music Capital F.E.M.I again?

Then you claim in the same post that Skales used to spit bars—how? The same Mukulu Mukeke Skales, or is there a second Skales we don’t know about?

Putting Skales and bars in the same sentence is a sacrilege!

Trying to force class on yourself because you enjoy a certain kind of music is capping at its best! Especially if you’re dropping names of artists who aren’t even pioneers in the genre you enjoy—unless, of course, you’re just here to cap as usual.

Abeg, enjoy your music and let others enjoy theirs in peace!
I agree with the general thrust of your post

but

Actually, Skales started out as a Rapper and he was quite good.

First time I heard Skales was on Jeremiah Gyang's Kauna Allah in which he featured as a rapper and he did acquit himself well.

Take a listen. Skales come on at the 3.05 minutes mark.

He dropped some other rap tracks but they didn't get traction and he diverted to afrobeats/street pop.

Nigerians mostly have shitty taste in music anyway. And it's gotten worse since the 2010's.

- Banky W would have stood no chance of rising to the top today.

- Johnny Drille would barely get airplay today if he'd done "Wait For Me" today instead of in 2015.

- Nonso Amadi barely gets a listen today. Blessing Tangban who is a quality artiste never gets recognised but Yemi Alade who sings "No time for tumbo tumbo" gets all of the streams.

Bez Idakula who is the king of Nigerian alté has to focus on doing music gigs for special shows.

You forced the suave early 2010s version of Praiz to do shit music to survive. SKALES used to spit bars in the late 2000s now he does shit music for streams. "Stay", "Rich and Famous", "Stupid Song" etc by Praiz are timeless and world class.

Munachi Abii held her own against other rappers on Banky W's 2010 megahit "Lagos Party (Remix)". Her next releases got no recognition.

CAPital F.E.M.I would rival Joe and Craig David anyday but he gets no attention.

Tems had to stay away before you lots force her to do shit music. Great artiste. I listen to her whole discography everyday.

Asa tried a comeback but you all ignored her. She had to do "Manyana" to get any kind of recognition.

I feel Bnxn can do better. He writes great lyrics. He prefers the slow tempo. But if he goes full Tems or Bez, you'd all ignore him.

Nigerians mostly have shitty taste in music but when I point it out, they get defensive.
Bro, calm down.

I don't know why I read your post and saw a vein throbbing in your neck. grin

Taste is subjective. Asake put it best when he sang,

"Wetin you love o, no be wetin I love o, wetin I love I go do am with all my heart o"

On a serious note, I think the music landscape has changed and evolved over the years.. These days songs are shorter with most songs having a duration of <3 minutes.

Also, our music consumption behaviour has changed as people now have shorter attention spans and consume content in quick short bursts. Think Instagram, TikTok etc. Even YouTube had to incorporate YouTube Shorts to their platform in recognition of this consumption pattern.

Additionally, the world is now musically globalized with streaming platforms hosting millions of artistes and songs. So competition don dey and consumers have a plethora of choices. I mean, if a song is not doing it for me in the first 20 seconds, na to press skip to the next track. No time to waste time.

The country is f^¢<king hard so Nigerians will typically gravitate towards music that lifts their mood and is easy to vibe to, hence the fast upbeat tempo of most afrobeats songs. Even our Gospel musicians have caught on to this and now release upbeat danceable songs to be relevant.

Ain't no way I'm listening to a Johnny Drille R&B song when I can vibe to Shallipopi's Laho or Fido's Joy is coming that will make me dance and forget my troubles momentarily grin

Artistes too are now more focused on commercialization and make the type of music that will sell to make money. That's why songs have become shorter and more catchy.

Conclusively, it's not about bad taste, it’s just how the industry and audience have shifted to meet the times.

So Governor Adeleke's daughter (Davido's cousin) NikosLiving don dey sing and even drop track.

Sadly, even if she strap bomb and utilise her family's might to push the song, e no go blow cos the song dey posh like R&B and no go resonate with Nigerians.

I doubt if Styl-Plus dropped call my name and olifunmi in this present day, the song would have been hits.

The general formula to blow now in Naija is to drop street slang heavy, cruise, vibe-like songs spiced with some memorable lines on top danceable beats.

That way tiktokers go pick up and trend the songs with dance challenge, and the songs inevitably blow.

Shallipopi's Laho, Fido's Joy is coming, Naira Marlwy's puxxy drip, Pocolee's hey jago, Odumodublack's pity this boy etc all followed this formula and blew.

Someone here recommended Tehran as a series to watch. I want to thank the person cos it's extremely good.

It doesn't have the gripping race against time, thrilling action, suspense & shock value of 24 but it's more realistic, more believable, and I consider it better made than 24. Even better than Day of the Jackal.

Also, I like the Israel (Mossad) vs Iran (Iran Revolutionary Guard) arch of the series. It's refreshingly different. No be every time CIA, MI6, MI5 etc go be protagonist for movie.

I binge-watched Season 1 & 2 yesterday, and I absolutely enjoyed it.

If espionage thrillers are your thing, I absolutely recommend it cos (in Ola of Lagos voice), you will love it.

Meanwhile, I read online that Season 3 is out. Can anyone help with links to download? I don search tire but I no see.
