izzou:The Grammy label the category Best African Music Performance but the truth is they want the music to sound like theirs as much as possible. Tyla does not do African music but R & B. |
WhoDeyHause:Lol Brother, I no dey fan any artiste. I like good melody and sounds, and OBO and Machala have them plenty in their repertoire. I think Kante with Fave was the better song and Davido should have promoted that song as the lead track and submitted it for the Grammys instead. |
monerozi5590:Davido did not stand a chance, not with Tyla in the same category. There's no way the sensible voting members of the Grammy academy will give an award to "Sweet Fanta Diallo, I cannot forget you, Ebezina Ebezina, Nzobu Nzobu eh" over Push 2 Start by Tyla which was done in English and is more relatable to them. Lest I forget, it'd help if Davido improves the penmanship of his songs too. |
BadBradley:YES....in terms of public infrastructure, sporting facilities, organization of competitions. Sportsmanship-wise, ethics and fairplay, they're not. |
naptu2:Morocco shouldn't waste time or dilly-dally on the decision. They should withdraw already. Good riddance to bad rubbish. |
chrisooblog:I like the "vex carry ball go house" analogy. It's so apt ![]() Below is my post earlier today on the issue in another thread. Good news. Morocco should officially withdraw already, they shouldn't waste time so South Africa can steo in timely. They should even go further and withdraw from participating in the WAFCON, good riddance to bad rubbish. |
BankyGee:Oma Akatugba is a disgrace. This is someone who Osimhen fed, sponsored his trips to Italy, gave free match tickets for Napoli games, help build connections and access to Italian sports media and journalists, and generally benefitted a lot from Osimhen that is misyarning and throwing shades because Osimhen cut him off. I like Lookman and rate him highly but even if he had signed for Real Madrid and Osimhen was playing in Saudi, Osimhen would still be the Super Eagles 001 and most important player. |
Good news. Morocco should officially withdraw already, they shouldn't waste time so South Africa can step in timely. They should even go further and withdraw from participating in the WAFCON. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Morocco has well-developed infrastructure, state of art stadia and sporting facilities, and were very good hosts but they're terrible sportsmen and their sense of sportsmanship is zero. This thing started after the WAFCON when they filed a petition to CAF against the Namibian referee that officiated the final for "refereeing injustices" and the fallout was the resignation of the Ivorian head of the CAF referees committee who cited "interference" for quitting. CAF subsequently appointed someone from DR Congo to head the Referees Committee and the outcome was the poor and blatantly pro-Morocco officiating we watched in the 2025 AFCON. As a result, they got away with too much on the pitch. Their players constantly foul-baited referees, played to con VAR, committed bookable offences without being carded, penalties not being awarded against them etc They stole opposing keeper towels, used lasers, physically assaulted players and committed all manners of gamesmanship tricks so the whole of Africa was happy they did not win the AFCON. Also, I am tired of Moroccans acting like they did Africa a favour by hosting the AFCON as if the infrastructure and sports facilities are not for the benefit of Morocco and Moroccans. Morocco did not just host AFCON, they corrupted and poisoned football. Even the CAF awards is no longer based on meritorious performance. That's the reason a Moroccan coach of TP Mazembe in DR Congo who did not win the domestic league or anything in the continent will win the Women's coach of the year award ahead of Justine Madugu who won the WAFCON. So I welcome and applaud their withdrawal from hosting the WAFCON. Make another country host am. |
elyte89:He's a decent player but not anywhere as good as Ndidi or Onyeka. The player I really rate who peeps are sleeping on is Anthony Dennis of Gotzepe. That guy is good, and I hope he really gets a move to an upper to mid-table team in the top five leagues. |
zicky:Where you rack up the stats matters more than the stats itself. It's the reason the European leagues goals coefficient exist. |
South Africa to host the 2026 WAFCON if Morocco withdraws.... |
If Eric Chelle desires another tall, mobile, aerially dominant, pressing and goal scoring forward to deputize Victor Osimhen in the National team, the answer is not Paul Onuachu or Tolu Arokodare. He should look at Elijah Adebayo of Luton Town. The guy is mobile like Osimhen, is strong, has positional sense, very good with his head, can hold up play, and more importantly is proven at the highest level, the EPL. He bagged 10 goals for Luton Town in the 2023/2024 EPL season and that is no small feat considering he was injured for a large part of that campaign. Also, you'd appreciate that feat when you juxtapose it with how other Nigerian strikers have fared in the same league in recent times Luton Town has dropped to the League One now but I still rate him higher than Onuachu and Tolu based on his general play and output in the EPL in that one season. |
Mujtahida:That one even good. E get one guy wey hin best and favourite striker in the Suoer Eagles is Cyriel Dessers. ![]() |
Turkish Football club rivalries run deep cos tell me why Galatasaray supporters are dissing Fernebache and celebrating because Lookman went to Athletico ![]() I like this kind of beef. |
MetalJigsaw:On Simon, we may have to disagree agreeably but pray tell, where did I advocate for Nathan Tella's invitation? 🤔 Pls read my post again, especially the part about Tella and let it sink in this time. T for thanks. |
Papi85:I gave up on Ejuke after that Tunisia game in AFCON. Guy came in and was just losing the ball trying to dribble. Too worsen matters, the only time he was played through, and had a better placed Osimhen to pass to, he went for personal glory and missed the chance. Sinon too is not better. The way he rolls the ball with the side of his boots when with the ball is annoying. He wastes too much time on the ball, allows opponents to recover to double-mark him and kills promising attacks. Nathan Tella in Leverkusen isn't better too, so I'm glad other wingers/wing forwards are emerging. |
Real Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano Jude Bellingham don pull hin hamstring. He was chasing a ball when he felt the sharp pain at the back of his thigh, and limped away. When I pulled mine some years back playing saturday morning football, I was out for three months. Na aboniki and deep heat ointment I bin dey rub for the thigh sha ![]() I expect with all the medical and advanced treatment regimen available to Jude, he'll recover faster . |
darkelf:Athletico only plays like that when they play seemingly superior teams. They play possession and attacking football when playing lesser teams. You're right about La Liga having more coverage and visibility though. I get to watch Premiership, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and even the EFL Championship on TV right here in Nigeria but other leagues na streaming things |
charlesemeka85:,......and forgotten. Reason why e no good to sign for relegation threatened teams outside of England. If player wan do second division league for Europe, na the English Championship be the best place. Its the most competitive and visible. Top European clubs even recruit players directly from Championship clubs. Victor Gyokeres - from Conventry to Sporting Lisbon Jobe Bellingham - from Sunderland to Borrusia Dortmund. etc Semi Ajayi, Ryan Alebiosu and Bright Osayi are all playing in the championship and still getting Super Eagles invitation. Femi Azeez, Arthur Okonkwo are in the EFL Championship and on the radar of Eric Chelle. I cant say this for any player playing in the 2nd division of any other European league.. Enough said. |
TheSuperNerd:I'm still shocked that Rafiu Dorosinmi moved to PISA a team which is rock-bottom of the Serie A table and will be relegated to Serie B. I know injury scuttled his transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt two seasons ago but from Eintracht Frankfurt to PISA is a big drop off. Na this same inopportune injury scuttle the chance of Elijah Adebayo from playing for us 2023/2024 season when Luton was in the Premiership. Rafiu has a short window to get into the Super Eagles and cement his place cos when PISA is relegated to Serie B, na bye hye to Super Eagles be that cos Eric Chelle won't invite him over those playing in the top division of European leagues. |
Pls is it too late to withdraw the hosting rights of the FIFA World cup from USA? I am embarrassed by the video I just watched of an American journalist asking Heung Min Son if he would help Los Angeles win the world cup in the USA. This people hosted the world cup in '94, hosted the Women world cup in '99 and '03, and recently hosted the FIFA Club World Cup, yet dem still no sabi as World cup dey be. Maybe they think its like their Super Bow or is it Major League Baseball world series....... |
Buhari was there for 8 years, nobody plan coup. BAT enter, e never even drink water drop cup, dem wan off am. It is well oooo |
charlesemeka85:You dey aspire on behalf of player wey no get aspiration to go those places |
opes:He is better than Onyedika. |
ChrisKels:Ore, I am responsible for what I post not your comprehension or lack of comprehension. I still stand by my previous assessment that Maduka is not a dependable keeper, amd we won't win any championship with him as our starting goalie. However, I have always reckoned that he's good enough to deputize Nwabali and be part of the squad. .........And pls stop making it seem as if Maduka was excused from the team. Tell the full story. MADUKA OKOYE was DROPPED because he attempted to blackmail the coach and sabotage the team by demanding to be made #1 for the AFCON and the coach refused, saying everyone must compete and earn their starting shirts, and dully dropped him from the squad I rated Maduka a little before but with that silly stunt he pulled, I do not rate him anymore. Football is a team sport and anyone who places personal ambition above the team's is a saboteur. |
lbrichman2:Femi Azeez is good. Can play comfortably on the right or left wing, Plays directly, runs and takes on defenders, and can cross for Africa. The guy is ambipedal and you gsts watch am keenly to know he's naturally left-footed. He will definitely be a good addition to the Super Eagles. |
ChrisKels:Never said he wasn't good but any objective abd unbiased supporter of the Super Eagles will tell you the difference between the two is like 7up. More importantly, Nwabali is dependable and has stood to be counted when it mattered most unlike Maduka who is lilly-livered and abandoned the team for years under the guise of "mental health". .......and YES, i will be fine as long as he stays far away from the Super Eagles. I wish him well in his club career though ![]() No to blackmailers. No to saboteurs. |
charlesemeka85:Maduka Okoye is NOT FIT to lace Nwabali boots. |
Meliforme:Lol. If your opinion had substance, it would welcome scrutiny and you'd answer the questions, not take the next available flight outta here. Anyways, l have added your monicker to my list of fantasy football theorists in this thread, and henceforth I'll ignore and wouldn't engage your posts. Love and light. |
Meliforme:Okay, let me concede that you love the Super Eagles and did not discredit the team, players and the coach BUT you are still skirting around the major thrust of my post which is the Grade A coach (best hands) you want appointed as coach of the Super Eagles because you are unconvinced by Eric Chelle who has no Plan B according to you. So I have some questions for you and I'd appreciate it if you can give direct answers this time. 🔸Who and what is a Grade A coach? Which metrics determine a Grade A coach? 🔸Do you think a Grade A coach will want to coach the Super Eagles given the dysfunctional nature of our football administration? 🔸Do you have any Grade A coach in mind that you'll want to be appointed for the Super Eagles? If YES, who? 🔸Is the Super Eagles having a Grade A coach a guarantee for winning the AFCON 2027 ,& 2028? 🔸Has any Grade A coach managed the Super Eagles in recent years? If Yes, who? 🔸Do you consider Emerse Fae, the Ivory Coast coach to be a Grade A coach? |
Meliforme:Have you ever played or coached at any level of football? I ask cos your reading and interpretation of the game is too theoretical and not based on reality. As a former aspiring footballer and a former assistant coach of an amateur football team, I'll tell you for free that coaching is not black and white. Even the best and most accomplished coaches have had moments of tactical mishaps and failings. Pep Guardiola arguably the best coach of this decade fumbled the Manchester City vs Chelsea 2021 UCL final. Pep inexplicably benched Rodri and Fernandinho, and played without a CDM. In addition, he unfathomably played without an out-an-out striker opting to play KDB as a false 9 instead of in his natural AM role in the biggest game of his Manchester City coaching career then. Pray tell, did Pep's tactical gaffe in that UCL final make him a bad coach? What of when Real Madrid beat Bayern Munich 4 nil in Munchen under Peo? The Man City's 0 - 4 drubbing by Tottenham at Etihad nko? Should we now regard Pep as a tactically poor coach with no Plan B? You seem to be in the same whatsapp group with TGJ to me. Your football expectations are built on theoretical fantasies. In your fantasy football world, there are no bad days and a team must play well all the time. The fact that you'd mention employing a "Grade A" coach for the team tells me you like building castles in the sky. Who or what is a grade A coach? Were Clemens Westerhoff, Bonfrere Jo and Stephen Keshi who won our biggest football laurels Grade A coaches? Bora Milutinovic, Lars Lagerback, Berti Vogts, Thijs Libregts who were the biggest profile coaches in our football history, what did they achieve? No be use and dump dem do us? What the Super Eagles need is a young (40-ish) dynamic coach with a playing identity, who is eager to coach and do well with the Super Eagles to make a name for himself. I have been watching Super Eagles since '94, and I daresay only 2 coaches have brought something uniquely different to the team. 1. Philippe Troussier - played a 3-5-2 which was considered strange by many Nigerians at that time because 4-4-2 was the in-thing, and he was sacked for his "unfamiliar formation" despite qualifying the team for the '98 world cup. Now the 3-5-2/5-3-2 formation is quite common and we all know Troussier was ahead of his time. 2. Eric Sekou Chelle - He plays a diamond formation in midfield which relies on the attackers pressing from the front, quick transitions and progressing the ball through the middle, and the wingbacks playing high, and providing width through the flanks. You want Eric Chelle to move on right, no problem. Who is the grade A coach you have in mind to replace him? Can the NFF/NSC afford the remuneration of your so-called grade A coach? I challenged you to drop names over a week ago, till date nada you never drop. In case you've forgotten Eric Chelle is unbeaten in regulation + extra time with the Super Eagles and his only losses have come via PSO. |
BankyGee:Chibuike Nwaiwu seems to have shed weight and is looking slimmer and fitter compared to the last time I saw him in that Eaglestracker interview with AyoT where he was looking like a dough of bread. |
