Can you provide the text of the law you just quoted from a reputable source?

Why has he not appointed a commisioner for works since George Kelly resigned? Why has he been using the permanent secretary in the ministry of works?
5) An appointment to the office of Commissioner under this section shall be deemed to have been made where no return has been received from the House of Assembly within twenty-one working days of the receipt of nomination, by the House of Assembly.

Seek guidance and interpretation of this section and you will understand that if the RSHOA withholds confirmation, that follows next?

I'm not silent, the Attorney general resigned this morning, he stated that the governor has been interfering with his job and honestly this cabinet reshufflement changes nothing, the governor cannot send new names to the house of Assembly for screening because of his combative posture towards them, 2025 and 2026 appropriation bill is also on the table.

Meanwhile you have not said anything about the PDP NWC response to sims attempt to change the approved caretaker list?
The Nigerian Constitution, specifically in Section 192(6), allows for the appointment of Commissioners by the Governor to serve in acting capacity pending the confirmation of the State House of Assembly. This provision enables the Governor to appoint individuals to the position of Commissioner temporarily before the State House of Assembly confirms their appointment.

It is important to note that there is no time frame as to how long these commissioner can function in acting capacity

PoliticsRe: Should The PDP Expel Wike From The Party? Pros And Cons by SenatorCharles1(op): 1:47pm On Apr 19, 2024
By carefully considering these factors and conducting a thorough assessment of the situation, the PDP can make an informed decision on whether to expel its high-ranking member serving as the FCT minister in the APC-led government. Each factor plays a crucial role in determining the potential consequences and benefits of such a decision for the party.

Thank you sir I was shocked to hear that she graduated with BSC in law
However, if the genuine certificate issued to her from her institution bears BSc and not LL.B, then its completely the institutions fault and not hers. So she's technically correct from any point of view.

Whether or not the People's Democratic Party (PDP) should expel a high-ranking member who is serving as a minister in the APC-led government is a complex decision that requires careful consideration of various factors. Here are some points to consider in making this decision:

The decision to expel a member from the party is a serious one that should be made after thorough deliberation and in the best interest of the party as a whole. It is important to weigh the potential benefits and consequences of such a decision and consider the long-term implications for the party's reputation, unity, and future electoral prospects.

Just asking as a layman. Do you really get awarded BSc in Law?
LL.B stands for Bachelor of Law while BSc stands for Bachelor of Science. Nigerian universities usually awards LL.B to law graduates and not BSc.

(i) The above scenario pertains to the area of law known as defamation. Defamation is the act of making false statements about an individual that harm their reputation. In this case, the Pastor made a false statement by calling Mrs. Benson a liar in front of the congregation, which could potentially damage her reputation and credibility as a law graduate.

(ii) To succeed in a court of law in a defamation case, Mrs. Benson would have to prove the following elements:

1. Defamatory Statement: Mrs. Benson must demonstrate that the Pastor's statement calling her a liar was defamatory, meaning it was false and had the potential to harm her reputation.

2. Publication: Mrs. Benson must show that the defamatory statement was communicated to a third party, in this case, the congregation during the Sunday service.

3. Identification: Mrs. Benson needs to establish that the defamatory statement was about her specifically, which is evident as the Pastor addressed her directly during the service.

4. Falsity: Mrs. Benson must prove that the statement made by the Pastor was false. In this case, the university's confirmation that the degree was referred to as a BSc. in Law supports Mrs. Benson's claim.

5. Harm: Mrs. Benson would need to demonstrate that the defamatory statement caused actual harm to her reputation or caused her to suffer damages, such as emotional distress or loss of opportunities.

By establishing these elements, Mrs. Benson could potentially succeed in a defamation lawsuit against the Pastor for making false and damaging statements about her academic qualifications.

Tranquill:
Is the governor ready to conduct election? No.

This is actually one of the problem he started with Wike which was totally unnecessary and uncalled for.

He assumed office and just within 2 months, he wants to sack the elected chairmen and appoint caretakers, because he wants to build 'his own structure'. These people were in the trenches and made him governor without him making any input so why not work with them, even if its for his first term or at least conduct a normal election at the end of their tenure? Why the desperation when there's nothing at stake?

Wike and his people said he should wait for their tenure to expire and then conduct election but he didn't want that.

Now, their tenure is expiring and he is not making any plan to conduct election because his plan is still in appointing caretakers that he hopes will be loyal to him, based on the advise he got from people that Wike and his group fought to put him there. What do u call that?

He's behaving like a demonic child who believes his existence means the death of his mother. Fubara wants to kill people who made him governor for no justifiable reason.
You go explain tired..!!!

Please stop exhibiting your ignorance how can dey pass a law to remove the RSIEC from control of the Governor, when it is the constitution an act of the National Assembly that gives the governor that power over the RSIEC?

Abi are you not aware that when laws passed by a state house of assembly, & laws passed by the national house of assembly clash, the National Assembly shall always prevail?

They have passed a law to checkmate the state governor from replacing elected officials after their tenure is over, if he doesn’t like it, conduct elections, or leave the elected people there.
Now you see how ignorant you guys are. I only twisted the point and you just exposed the fact of the matter. How can a state HOA extend or attempt to tamper with an Act of the NASS? Any so-called checkmate can only come from the NASS period. Now that there's a clash, only that of the NASS can stand and if there's no extention of office for the Chairmen for any reasonable or unreasonable cause whatsoever in the ACT of the NASS then that of the State is a nullity

Why will the national assembly extend the tenure of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria?

In Nigeria on return to democrazy in 1999, mention the time that a presidential election was not held when it was expected to?

Only ignorant ones, hyping in ignorance claim not to be aware that state Governors purposely don’t hold elections when due in other put their stooges in to power undemocratically.

The Rivers state house of assembly has passed a law, checkmating such actions of the Governor, ard you are complaining?

If the state does not want the elected local government officials tenure extended by operation of law, conduct elections as of when due simple.
OBJ attempted to extend his tenure as a sitting president but he failed. Go and find out why he didn't succeed.

Appointing a chairman of RSIEC is currently under the office of the governor. Funding RSIEC is also directly under the hand of the governor of the state. I was hoping the RSHOA would have passed a law to remove RSIEC from the control of the governor then fund RSIEC to organise the election by themselves rather than extend their tenure which is unconstitutional

They passed a law that if local government elections are not held, the Governor cannot appoint a caretaker committee, who said the law is about Mumu Fubara in particular?

Abi after him, wouldn’t there be other governors of Rivers state?

A law is been promulgated to guarantee the sanctity of elected local government officials as mandated by the constitution, & you are here wailing in ignorance?
Is Rivers the only state that runs the local government system? If your postulation is even imagined then, the NASS can as well extend the tenure of the president and the HOA of any state can extend the tenure of a governor.

Two weeks to the expiration of his tenure in office, CRA conducted LGA elections and when Wike was sworned in, he went to court and the court declared CRA election as a nullity and that gave room for Wike to appoint caretaker Chairmen.

RSHOA under Rt Hon. Martins is playing into the hands of SIM cos with this move the litigation will run into the tenure ending of the current Chairmen and if the court rules in favour of the claimants, SIM would be left with no other option but to appoint caretaker Chairmen cos with the litigation ongoing, there won't be any LGA elections moving forward.
PoliticsRe: Court Halts Rivers Assembly’s Move To Extend Local Government Officials’ Tenures by SenatorCharles1: 4:47pm On Apr 17, 2024

No one is extending anything, they have passed a law that if for any reason the state fails to conduct local government elections the elected officials should remain until same is conducted, this is to compel the mandatory guarantee of elected local government officials as enshrined in the constitution of 1999 as amended, & stop the State Governor from appointing stooges into those positions.

Nigeria’s problem is that most don’t use their heads for analytics, they prefer to assume out of ignorance, that is why they say the white man has hidden knowledge in volumes of books, because he knows the black man will not read.
And who told you SIM is planning to setup caretaker Chairmen? You are the ones who fail to use your heads to analyse issues.

Prepare the Meats:

Wash and season the assorted meats with salt, onions, seasoning cubes, and any other desired spices.
Cook the meats in a pot with some water until tender. You can use a pressure cooker to save time.
Add Palm Oil and Onions:

In a separate pot, heat palm oil and sauté chopped onions until translucent.
Add Seasonings and Pepper:

Add ground crayfish, ground pepper or chopped scotch bonnet peppers, and seasoning cubes to the pot. Stir well to combine.
Add Cooked Meats:

Add the cooked meats and broth to the pot with the palm oil mixture. Allow the flavors to meld together.
Add Water Leaves and Periwinkle:

Add the sliced water leaves (or spinach) to the pot and stir. If using periwinkle, add it at this stage.
Add Ugu Leaves:

Add the sliced pumpkin leaves (ugu) to the pot. Stir gently to incorporate the leaves without mashing them.
Simmer:

Allow the soup to simmer on low heat for about 10-15 minutes, or until the vegetables are cooked but still vibrant green.
Adjust Seasoning:

Taste the soup and adjust the seasoning if needed. Add more salt or pepper according to your preference.
Serve:

Once the vegetables are cooked to your liking and the flavors have melded together, your Nigerian vegetable soup (Edikang Ikong) is ready to be served.
Enjoy:
Serve the soup hot with a side of pounded yam, fufu, or rice. Enjoy the rich flavors and nutritious goodness of this traditional Nigerian dish.

Feel free to customize the recipe by adding other traditional ingredients like periwinkle, dried fish, or kpala fish to suit your taste preferences.
