Its really a short notice, less than 24hours but who am i to complain. I asked the caller if the second stage was a test or orals but he said he doesn't have enough information as to its nature. I was required to come with my credentials, originals and photocopy at same venue where i wrote the first stage. I was also asked my course of study and year of graduation.

Guys i got a call this afternoon from NCC that i was successful in the first stage and should come tomorrow for the 2nd stage.. please who else got the call... I wrote mine in Abuja.

What is the second stage and where are you required to present yourself? I think the period of notice is quite short.

My thought was that it should have been 45 questions for 1hr or 50 questions for 1hr. Horrible indeed with lots of incomplete info.

My brother I don't know how merit or no merit was defined in this context. However, I think everyone that meets the minimum requirement as stated on the advert should be considered "merit". The truth still remains that not everyone who applied for a job will be invited, regardless of whatever qualifications he/she possesses. It's left for the recruiter to determine the best criteria for selecting candidates (maybe relevant experience or membership of professional organizations or recommendations from top).

I am not making a case in support of firs, as it is a common practice in Nigeria that getting job is based on connection, but we need to recognize fact that not everyone will be called and those that were called merit it.

The Abuja venue is Area 1(I can't disclose the exact venue sorry) and might take up to 3 days.

Some of us has direct information but unfortunately our contact leg is not that strong to influence.

This your statement looks suspicious. If the interview venue is not within FIRS premises, then something is wrong somewhere. Interviews are usually conducted at the organization, unless it is an assessment center.

If they are requesting for BVN and account no in an invitation for interviews it's mean documentation will follow after interview congratulations to those that has been invited ours will surely come soon

I wonder why they are requesting for BVN details at this stage instead of asking them to bring their credentials. It looks strange to me. Except they want to use the account numbers to credit TP allowance. We shall see as events unfold.

Good morning all. Even as it's always good to be hopeful in every situation, which of course I am, definitely not everyone will be called. So let's make up our minds to move on in case of disappointment. We all know that FIRS as an organization is a good place to be but unfortunately the slots are few. This Is the npower tax liasion that wa talked about on this same thread some months ago.the list will soon be out. These would casuals not FIRS staffs

I had something else today from a friend working in the FIRS headquarters Abuja, the directors and coordinating directors had a meeting with the Chairman last week who said that they are over staffed and they need rearrange their offices and staffs as to know h many vacancies that are to be filled.

Just this afternoon, he received a call from one doctor *******(female)she said she was calling from Abuja firs office. In fact true caller identified d number as firs human resource manager. She told my hubby that they are compiling names for d job right now. Hmmmmmmmmm! That my hubby shld call one doctor *********(male) my hubby called him, n he began to say its late n all that, my hubby begged him. He then said tomorrow is the last day for my hubby to pick d replacement form from d bank of which junior category is 19k+ while senior category is 24k+. At this juncture, my hubby is confused since it involves paying money, he is thinking its scam. Pls help! Is this scam or real?

Madam, clearly this is an attempt to scam your husband. Reputable organizations, of which FIRS is part, do not demand for any payment during recruitment. Some will rather pay you a stipend to take care of your logistics.

what's contradictory is the fact they promotion exercise does not take up to 6 months. And the information is contrary to what we already know

I got a disturbing information last night about the whole recruitment saga.

1. That we should not expect any SMS or email yet till like May 2017, u can also verify from ur informant pls

2. That, there is need for internal promotion to be done and the exams is to be written this week nd next to create room for the new intakes . Though that the staff promotion was supposed to be completed last year, don't know what delayed it.

3. They are also deliberating on the review of FIRS salary structure, that the last review was in 2007.

4. After conclusion of the promotional exams and national assembly nd presidency has signed, then the new intakes comes in and by June hopefully successful ones will go for training.


So please Mr. Yaasir and others, help us verify if this new development is what is really the situation now.
