@adeoflagos i understand ur point ur making but i would still stress that in this case of taraba state the likelyhood for petroleum to be found there is next to nil. look u dont get crude oil in a basement complex terrain. even all the reservior rocks. and the source rocks u talked about are all sedimentary rocks . the temperature of formation of crude oil is between 60 to 80 degrees. now wat is d temperature of magmas that comes up during volcanic eruptions 1500 degrees or more crude would be destroyed at this temperature. and this temperature favoures the formations of solid mineral deposits. u cant find gold in the Niger delta and u cant find oil in places where u have gold and other solid minerals that are formed at very high temperatures. i stand to be corrected though.

less I forget let ur answer booklet be like a text book filled with diagrams or chats or graphs as the case may be. Pls use a large diagram or large chat or a large graph preferable a page so as to be unique cos some lecturers hate small diagrams. Well the key is understand wat each lecturer wants and give them.

there is a tried and proven way. learn how to quote sources of materials u used during the course of your study. For example if your are a Geology student as I was before and u read books authored by O.O ocan or J. O Ajayi.quote those authors while putting down the answers. Then if u have a lot of diagrams and chats or graphs in wat ever course pls include them as they attract marks. As a matter of principle I studied chats diagram and graphs 1st before reading the whole page or chapter as the case may be. Then with ur phone instead of facebook all the time pls use google or wikipedia( even though some people disagree with them) to exume useful information that could be of help to you. As a geologist it is near impossible to find oil in the same terrain as gold and silver and other solid minerals. i can believe the story abt goldn silver but as for the oil i have my doubt.

i love this thread very much cos i av have my own misgivings about this pension of a thing. The issues highlighted by OP is very germane. To depend soley on a pension fund for ur financial future is tragic. cos with pervasive corruption and the dereliction of duty by PENCOM officials am afraid there will be trouble lurking ahead for many retirees. what would happpen to a particular PFA if a large number of retirees want to have access to their funds? Do they have the cash base to back up any sudden surge in demand?

u can also work in the mining sector like cement factories and all other mineral exploration factories around the country. Yeah borehole is also there and engineering geology is also an option and lastly environmental geology that has to do with climate change and waste management and pollution. There ar lots of option that can only know when u become specialized with your Msc

I just don't know where they want us to get experience oh but wit various oil and gas project here and there the future is bright for geologist

chances are bright for those who make a 2,1 and they have the needed experience like IT and NYSC experience. In my case I have a 2.1 in Geology but oando said I was not qualified For their interviews just because of experience.
