You and your protestant churches are VERY judgemental. I doubt any church will deny dedicatation or the baptism of an innocent child simply because the child was born to a single parent. The child did not ask to be born to a single mother. You will punish an innocent child for the so called "sins" of his parents? You are a horrible person for contemplating punishing an innocent child. Shame on you. Every child deserves to be dedicated and treated with respect and dignity no matter the union that produced the child. Children are innocent and harmless. They did not ask to be born or put in the situation. |

babeface3: I was just trying to reason towards the cause if the alleged sexual misconduct against Nigerian law makers in the us. I lodged in a cozy hotel in Las Vegas late last year and almost got tempted twice. After I woke up from sleep due to long flight hours I heard a knock on my door. A cleaner so pretty in her sewn to size apron greeted me with a charming smile on opening my door. Omo I didn't know when I asked her to come in instead of saying I had no garbage in the bin and my room was not dirty. She actually stepped in to my surprise. I offered her some fried cashew nuts I had brought from Nigeria and she gladly collected it. The door was still ajar and agro don dey rise for my jugular. When after cracking some jokes, I asked her to sit down cos she had been standing some inches from het trolley on the door, her face changed into a livid blur. She rapped so fast and left the room. It was later that I discovered she left the pack of cashew nuts.
Later I would go for buffet. I would take my food to the garden lobby to enjoy the view and have some solitary moments. A waiter stationed directly opposite me would smile and make a not too clear gesture each time our eyes met. She would edge closer when I smile back and ask if I was confortable and if I needed anything. Pretty oyibo. Guy one morning I don dey chop my food jeje she waka come again. I ask am her name. She told me. I look round with style nobody dey even look my side. I com tell am make she give me her number. Wetin I hear na, sorry not necessary with same smile she waka comot. The next morning na for my room I chop breakfast. Please guys those courtesy na just professional thingie In the US, when ladies in the hospitality or retail industry smile at you, do no misunderstand them. They do so out of courtesy/training. They want to make sure you are enjoying your stay, especially in the Five Hotels. After all, you are paying top dollars to be there. Also, they want to make sure you are a repeat customer. The hotel wants your business, of course it is only appropriate they threat you nice, and are courteous to you. A smile from any of the housekeepers does not denote interest. Remember they see tons of men who pass through the hotels. What makes you special? You are spot on. |

irunooboo: Here is Seuun Kuti a yoruba man calling for the probe of OBJ another yoruba man. Buhari is presently probing Dasuki a fulani man from his tribe without the northerners raising their voices. The igbos will never do such. Instead they will remain quiet as long as the culprit is from their tribe. They will shout witchhunt if such attempts were made to probe an igbo man/woman. Example is the case of stela oduah accused of massive looting in the aviation sector May God forgive the igbos Don't you think you are off topic? You should first learn how to spell and articulate before you step into the public domain with your rants. Stella and not Stela. Yoruba and not yoruba. Fulani and not fulani. Igbo and not igbos. Witch-hunt and not witchunt. |

The family haven't told their own side of the story, and granted to agreed to pay her $100/month which I don't agree with, the option was hers and she made the decision. However, on the part of kidnapping, that's just unnecessary extra charge added on. You don't purposefully destroy the life of another to build yours. In essence you don't destroy in other to build. If she is an illegal immigrant, you can see why her illegal status will force her into intolerable work conditions. The legal residents, the couple here, are at fault because they brought her to the US, they are aware of her status and its attendant implications. They exploited her. They broke State and Federal laws because they hired and paid her a paltry sum. Perhaps they threatened to have her deported if she ever spoke up. By so doing, they held her hostage. |

If you cannot afford it don't delve into it . No need forming unnecessary Bigman. If you have to employ 2 or 3 etc as the case may be so be it. The only reason people run into trouble is because they try to do things they cannot really afford on the cheap. The only justification for bringing in people from Nigeria is to teach your children Nigerian languages, apart from that you can employ people wherever you are and do thorough background checks and monitoring. They don't have to live with you. They can come in and do x number of hours y days a week on specific tasks. If you can't afford it don't break the law.Simples. |

Woged2005: Complaint was probably filed by another bad-belly Nigerian. That's the way they live in Texas -(pull him down attitude). Who on earth will believe these in the USA? Food is probably the cheapest thing in US that even American rats are well-fed. If they stopped her from using hot water, did they seal the tap with a lock when they go out? I knew a story like this where a lady did everything to come to USA. after one year on arrival her relative who wanted her to move in with him promising her a better life but was resisted by her hosts filed criminal complaint against her host alleging unprintable things.
One lesson I must teach people: call me any name if you like; If you want peace of mind, keep Nigerians without a legal visa at arms length when they come abroad...don't rent your room to them, not even as extended visitors. Nigerians are generally kind and happy people, but very few terribly bad ones can cause chaos and turn your life into misery. forget about the 'church' they carry on their head...na for mouth
Until we hear the side of the couple, don't judge. I know there are two sides to every story. Remember the State Attorney's office in Texas must have investigated the house help's complaint prior to any arrests. They will not arrest unless they absolutely believe they can prove that the law has been broken. I know Nigerians. Our people can atimes be heartless. The general notion is this: we assisted in bringing her to the US. She should be content with whatever we provide. Her life in the US is better off than what she had in Nigeria. By the way, she has no valid papers. Be best believe it, a crime was committed here by this couple. You don't have to travel to Nigeria to find people who can legally assist with household chores. Those that venture, try to cut corners. If you employ anyone in your home, you must play by the rules. There are no cutting corners when it comes to the violation of the rights of a vulnerable person. The complainant here will qualify as one because she is an illegal immigrant. |

I seldome respond to comments concerning GEJ. Nigerians are far more intelligent than you give them credit for. I will ask you the following questions: 1. Who funded PMB's presidential campaign? 2. Are they any corrupt politician milling around PMB today who should be under probe by EFCC? 3. If GEJ were a Hausa or Yourba or even an Igbo, will you be calling for his arrest? 4. How many past corrupt Head of State or President have been arrested? Most of them are still living. You don't set the precedent of arresting a former President with the arrest of the first Nigerian President of minority decent who conceeded victory at the ballot box. We have to be careful before we push Nigeria down the clif. lordkay10: I tend to wonder what the future holds for this nation going by the kind of comments I read NL. I mean how can supposed 'graduates' or learned individuals reason with such flawed logic when there's ample evidence staring them in the face to the contrary. Is it tribalism? Hatred? Failed education or they're just being plain silly? All the submissions given by individuals questioned so far in this arms deal have two common denominators - GEJ and Dasuki, what does that suggest?yet some folks come here to spit gibberish trying to defend the indefensible. spikesC: This is more about having sex with someone you got drunk with in a social environment, and they regret it the next day because they were intoxicated, therefore, they didn't know what they were doing. Also, that you're kissing a girl doesn't mean she wants you to have sex with her.
The full consent of a thing came in last year (i believe) after a series of law suites in the UK and US surrounding misunderstanding of affections. I believe it is being pushed now to be made a law. Therefore, you have to ask someone, literally, to have sex with you and they're required to respond, literally, in affirmation.
It has nothing to do with feminism but protecting and preventing unintentional rape cases (something only developed countries understand) You spoke well. You must obtain consent before you engage in intercourse. No consent, no sex. |

- Pope Francis message was great. I hope we can take away the points that affect us. Although, I was disappointed that he did not openly support the code of conduct tribunal trial of Senator Bukola Saraki (lol)
- In the future, our foreign affairs minister would work to enable the Catholic Pontiff visit Nigeria and we are sure PMB would be glad to meet him in Abuja or Lagos.
- PMB is not scheduled to deliver any paper in this session therefore the picture mythologises a leader who is listening to global issues and planning how to respond accordingly.

The former governor debunked claims that he failed to submit handover notes to his successor’s administration.
“There is no truth in this as all commissioners and heads of MDA’s submitted their handover notes to the Secretary to State Government who forwarded same to the Head of the State Civil Service as is appropriate,” he said.
“Governor Amaechi also directed the Deputy Governor of Rivers State Engr. Tele Ikuru to be the liaison between the outgoing administration and the incoming one. Engr. Ikuru as Deputy Chairman of the state Executive Governor and second man in government had all facts necessary to brief the incoming administration. He also had unfettered access to government house and to every commissioner and head of Ministry Department or Agency.”
If Sambo the former VP had handed over to PMB instead of GEJ, will you be saying the same thing? There is absolutely no excuse why Amaechi did not hand over to Wike, absolutely no excuse. There is no justification for it. Amaechi was hale and hearty on May 29th. He should have showed class and handed over. He appears to be more of a thug. |

philips70: Throughout the tenure of uncle HERO, kerosene was subsidized to be sold at N50 but our mothers bought it at rates more than double the price. Before May 29th petrol was to sell at N87 but was sold more than N100 at most gas stations even when marketers have received their subsidy. Your HERO couldn't do anything about it. Just maybe he was having his share through madam. Now someone entered and suddenly petrol now sells for N87, and some stations are even giving at N86 to get more patronage. Let me tell you once again in case you pretended not to see it, Otedola announced yesterday all his stations will be selling kero at N50, no more no less. Leadership is not sold at Shoprite nor in Mile1 market. Your HERO lacked it and it's nobody's fault but his. You don't attain it by having your people bullying the whole nation into submission. It is inborn and inherent. Buhari has it and it's not his fault either.
Lest I forget, hope you are aware daily subsidy payment as at now is half the cost pre May 29th? Nigerians plead to continue suffering this way. One secret I have to tell you is, Jonathan is biting his finger this moment wishing he did many things differently. Meanwhile, keep deluding yourself, it is free. Remember GEJ preceded OBJ. Did every thing go awry when GEJ came to power? It will be untrue if you say so. There was a status quo in place that preceded GEJ. A status quo put in place by his party, PDP which held power before GEJ's assent. GEJ could have offered a different vision, he could have changed things up but again, the party stalwarts would have fought him. To make matters worst, the North opposed him ab-initio. He wasn't going to win no matter what. He deferred so much to the party. He allowed his party to govern, which was a huge mistake. PMB can effect change because he belongs to a different school of thought, a different party. PMB and his colleagues learned from PDP's 16 years reign at the center. It will be unwise for APC to step in and continue the exact same prescriptions PDP offered the ailing Nigerian state. APC offered Nigerians a puritanical regime. Nigeria the most corrupt Nation on earth has yearned for this type of leadership since independence. APC has set the bar very high. We will see if APC can deliver. My only grief with PMB is that he and his Northern brethren gave tacit support to Boko Haram. They wanted to see GEJ fail. Rather than help GEJ fight BK, they surreptitiously endorsed its menace in the North East. Power will not remain in the North in perpetuity. Power will return to the South. And power in Nigeria cannot continue to rotate in the hands of Yoruba/Hausa Fulani. Power must go around for Nigeria a multi-ethnic state to remain one. |
