If military coup will stop corruption, i support.
If military coup will improve our health sector , i support.
If milatary coup will improve our education system , i support.
If military coup will bring peace, happiness, joy and unity to the common man like me , then i have no choice than to support .

The worst civilian administration under a democratic rule is better than the best military dictatorship. The military take over of 1983 set Nigeria back 20 years. We had better institutions and infrastructure back then. Democracies every where make mistakes, and should be allowed to correct itself. A democratic government should not be over thrown by some zealot military officer who believes that he is the god of anti-corruption. At the end of the day, it is all false. The military steal power to continue the pillage unquestioned and unopposed. You cannot wrestle power from the people with a barrel of gun, if you do, you are a thief.

Orikinla:
Peter Obi is actually intellectually reta-rded to make such an idiotic statement, because he is campaigning for President Goodluck Jonathan.
Some of the best performing current heads of state in Africa and the world are in their 80s and they are better leaders than President Jonathan and their countries are more stable than Nigeria. They include the following:
Girma Wolde-Giorgis, Ethiopian President, 88 years.
Giorgio Napolitalo, Italian President, 88 years.
Arthur Foulkes, The Bahamas' Governor General, 85 years.
Anerood Jugnauth, Prime Minister of Mauritius, 84 years.
Paul Biya, President of Cameroon, 81 years.
The Italian and Ethiopian Presidents are ceremonial...the prime minster in both countries hold sway and has all the political powers

Paul Biya of Cameroon is a despot....soon his country will implode like what we saw in Burkina Faso and Senegal.

The Bahamas is a country of less than 2 million people, you can't compare the Bahamas to Nigeria.

SportsRe: Why Is INDIA Not Allowed To Participate In FIFA Organised Competings?? by sethken: 2:35am On Aug 23, 2014
Do some research on your own. There is so much accurate resources out there for anyone to believe in such myth and outright lies. India is a member of FIFA. Just like Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and many other countries in South East Asia, India is not very good at football, but it appears they have qualified for the world cup I believe once in the 1950s. India has never played Nigeria at any level but they have played against Cameroon and Ghana in friendlies.

emiye: The boy is good, nevertheless must be allowed to wait for his time. If he is hurried up before his due time, the results will be catastrophic. Even Jesus Christ waited for his time(age 30)to start his ministry, although he started showing flashes of precocity at age 12.

Kelechi's invite to the super eagles should come on the heels of validated club success, that might be at least 1 full year from now.
Why wait for a year if you can tap into the budding talents such as the ones displayed by this young man. There is nothing out there that says he must play for Nigeria at the senior level despite his Nigerian citizenship. If we ignore him for too long a foreign nation may convince him to lace his boots for them. The likes of Pele and Michael Owens started very young for their respective nations. Klinsman took a 17 year old to this past world cup. His first touch was a goal that almost saw the US leveling scores with Belgium. Abedi Pele of Ghana started playing for the Ghanian national team in his final year of high school. He was 17 years old at the time. Ihenacho would have been a difference maker if he had played against France. Nigeria was one player away from winning that match. Ihenacho is like a lamp sitting on a hilltop in the dark that cannot be hidden. He will only get better. He is ones in a generation kind of player. He is in the league of the Kanu's, and the Okocha's of the world. He was clearly head above shoulders in his game last night against Kansas City FC. The commentators could not stop signing his praises. I for one was very surprised. His passes and shots on goal were superb. His goal seemed so effortless for a player of his age and maturity.

How old do you believe he is? I read somewhere that he has been in the NFF academy since age 13. You don't have any proof that he is older. Nutrition and training plays a role in physical development.

zoboizee: keshi took certain players to the world cup for pecuniary reasons( my believe though). remember after the WC he went to the president and said he wanted 10mill monthly & upfront. kelechi, that boy is a class act. movement, link up play, control of the ball, shielding opponents, passes and shooting technique. for a young nigerian, he is awesome.
You are absolutely on point. I think Keshi should be fired by the NFF. There is absolutely no reason why a talent such as Ihenacho should have been excluded from the national team. He is a far superior talent than anyone else Keshi took to the mundial. He probably took certain players to the world cup to get a cut of an eventual transfer fee. Adebayo of Togo made similar allegations against Keshi when he was with the Togolese national team. I believe those allegations were not unfounded. Keshi should make up his mind. He should either coach or become a player's agent, and not both. He stands to pocket a lot of money if he is a successful coach who is result orientated. Why not focus on coaching? If he is known as an excellent coach, money and offers from around the world will flood in.

tbaba1234: They are not absolute in terms of actual age but it gives the bone age. It is only in rare cases that a 22 year old will pass. In Africa, 19-20 years might pass but it is far better than what used to happen.

In the developed world, nutrition is better so kids are their normal growth age, Abuchi bones were just more developed than it should be.

These extremes are rare.

Iheanacho is also a product of the NFF u13/15 programme.

The bottom line is that we are finally getting a bunch of geniunely young players.
You made another good point. If Ihenacho has been under the tutelage of the NFF since 13 years of age, his nutrition will be better off than those of his peers in the general population. Therefore, they should be no surprises if he looks physically superior.

You are absolutely correct. There is no way Ihenacho is a 22 year old. Nigerians also forget that training and nutrition plays a big role in physical development especially when you are playing at the highest levels.

komekn: Manchester City may prove a big mistake for him, how many youth players from their academy have made it to the 1st team in the last 5 years apart from Micah Richards almost zero.

Iheanacho is actually one of the cheaper players they have bought the two boys they bought last year from Le Havre cost £Millions to mention but a few, he should have gone to a club that will enable him develop not City.
Man City knows that he is a special talent. How are we sure City did not splash millions to get him to append his signature. He will break into the first team before too long. I continue to believe that if Keshi had given him a chance in Brazil he would have been a difference maker. There is no justification for leaving him out of the world cup team. Keshi would have done himself a lot of good taking Ihenacho and Kalu Uche to the world cup, but o well hindsight.

For once I am beginning to believe that Keshi is not progressive minded. He had a chance to set himself apart, and attract possible suitors from around the world he blew it.

When you train at the highest level and eat special diets, yes, you can develop rapidly. There is a significant change in his looks from last year at the U-17 world cup. He trains for Man City, of course he will be placed on special diets to enhance his physical development. With the MRI age- test scan, he is more than likely 17 at most 18 years old. If you have proof to the contrary present those. We know Nigeria has poor history when it comes to football and age but things and times have changed. Because Mr. A lied about his age does not mean that Mr. B did the same. Every Nigerian is not a liar and an age cheat. Ihenacho is 17 years old. I didn't look any different from him when I was 17. I had classmates at that age who were bigger and taller. Genetics, food and constant workout, plays a big role in physical development.

You struck the nail right on the head. If all the players had rushed Matuidi, and referee, maybe the referee would have pulled a red card. Keshi on the other hand could have given the assistant referee on the sideline an ear full. I could not believe the players and the coaches were so passive.
SportsMatuidi's Reckless Challenge On Onazi by sethken(op): 7:30pm On Jul 02, 2014
What is FIFA doing about the reckless challenge inflicted on Onazi by Matuidi. The challenge has drawn criticisms from far and near. Diego Maradona called the reckless stump worst than Suarez bite on Italian Cellini. FIFA has to step in and impose a penalty since its center referee Mark Geiger suspiciously refused to hand a red card to the offending player. Aside from Keisha speaking out during his press conference, I have not heard anything from top Nigerian FA officials. This is the time to speak up so as to prevent the re-occurrence of incidents such as this.

Seandeeds: This is the part i don't get, why do these guys have to fight over money all the time? It's common with African and 'Third world' teams. Last week, about $3million has to be flown in for the Ghanaian team, on the orders of the president, when they threatened to shun their last group match.( www.seunsblog.com). This isn't good enough. What exactly is the problem pls?
The problem is that in developed Nations and even in some South American countries, bonuses are not an issue because bonus money, and appearance fees will be paid to the players as promised by the respected federations. This is in contrast to most African countries, where promises are made but never kept. The players must make their demands now or else, they will never be paid what is due to them. Remember the money in controversy, the appearance fees comes from FIFA and not from the coffers of the Nigerian government or the government of any other African country. The problem is that we are CORRUPT in Africa. The corrupt officials at the helm of affairs will rather pocket the money than pay it to the players. These players from Nigeria and Ghana are acting based on precedence. Unless we change, we will remain a laughing stock in the international community. No human being in any part of the world plays only for national pride. The norm is that a person should be compensated for their hard work. FIFA makes a lot of money from the talent of these players. It is only fair they are compensated.

kokoA: Those people sha.. Growing up somewhere in the east back then, I remembered my mum was directed to Abakiliki when she needed a house help. Guess what? Families were falling over themselves to offer their daughters as house helps.. But one thing is sure, they are very hard working. The girl we got was something else, very hard working, obedient, honest and respectful that she became part of the family, but very very local grin . These are traits I later found out in a number of other Ebonyi people I got to be friends with. I love their simplicity, they appreciate even the tiniest favor.. The only thing they need is good leadership.
People are still offering their children as house helps in Nigeria. It brings to mind the grim images of slavery that happened before our generation. Where a person is seen as a house help/a quasi-slave. If a person is a place in their life where they know that if they bear children they won't be able to provide for such children, such a person is better off not having children. The idea of offering one's child to serve as a house help for another is gut wrenching.

I personally have nothing against Bishop Okpaleke as my bishop, what am against rather is his insensitivity to the feelings of his supposed subjects.
How is Okpaleke being insensitive. He will be pulling a Jonah if he refuses to answer the call. I believe the bishopric is the fullness of the priesthood. If he is able and capable. He acted accordingly by answering the call. You don't only answer a call when all is well and peaceful. You also answer a call in the face of adversity, danger and uncertainty. The martyrs of old did the same. Unless you have lost your faith or sense of what it means to be a catholic, it is paramount that one answers a call when they are called by God.

I don't see the present Pope rescinding this appointment. I foresee Ahiara's suppression as a diocese if the stalemate continues.
TravelRe: What Are The Most RACIST Countries? by sethken:
Lyrah: The only reason why white people are portrayed as being the most racist is because of the slavery history. They were the ones that started all the hatred and now the blame is on most of them (generally). But I have to agree with many people here that whites are not the most racist.White people are just like Black people, some of them are bizarre and some are nice. But at the end of the day, everybody is different and has their own opinion.
It appears you are ascribing all the blame of slavery to the white man. The black African, Igbo, Yoruba, Efik, Kalabari, orchestrated, captured, and sold his own brothers and sisters to the white man. I believe the wickedness of the black man far outweighs that of the white man when it comes to slavery. There are documented tales of local African slave traders who beheaded rebellious African slaves right in-front of the white captains of slave ships. The white man borrowed a cue on how to treat the black man from his own kind, the black man. Give the white man a break. Even after abolition, the white man had to step into Africa to stop the trade. We Africans have to care, ascribe and treat each other better. If you don't respect yourself, others won't , is an African saying. The present day leadership in almost every black African country is a testament of what happened 100 years ago. We continue to treat each other with utter disrespect and contempt.

Nigerians are sometimes forced to respect white people because of their influence and advancements with their creative and manufacturing power, if you want to really know the discriminatory mindsets of Nigerians, ask an Albino or those who have Albinos in their family or ask the so called Osu people in Igbo land and see how cruel Nigerians could be in discrimination
I totally agree. To this day, I am yet to comprehend how our forefathers labelled one another outcast, and even sold over 5 million of their brethren to a white man who lived in a far distant land. The wickedness of slavery continues to trail us to this day. It is evident on how we treat and govern one another.
TravelRe: USA Or England: Which Is The More Racist Country? by sethken:
tensor77: But truly slavery can no longer be held as an excuse. I don't know of any serious intellectual in America uses that as an excuse. We shouldn't get things twisted and be very honest. Forget about the extreme views of posters like Cap28.
The single cause of the challenges in black America is neither racism or slavery but the breakdown of the family unit.
And you seriously don't believe that slavery and systematic subjugation has a hand in the breakdown of the AA family? I believe it does. Whites in America post slavery, employed and continue to employ to this day, systematic policies designed to perpetually subjugate and keep especially African American males economically subordinate to their White male counterparts. The election of Barack Obama has not made things better, it has deepened the divide between Whites and Blacks. Whites understand that when you empower the man economically, you empower the society. Empowerment of the Black man carries along with it familial stability, and the overall growth of the black family. The White man understood this from slavery, and continue to understand this to date. The White man in America is also afraid of reprisal from the wrongs of the past. So, it is better to keep the Black man where he is, so that he will not lash out. Economic despondency in most Black communities brings about infighting among Blacks, in other words, divide and conquer. The Black man in America is his own worst enemy. The White man sees a bit of the lashing out in Obama's affordable health insurance act. Most Whites believe that Obamacare Care is a social welfare program designed to favor Blacks at the expense of the tax paying Whites. Most Whites are miffed at the election of Obama, a bi-racial man who is sympathetic to the Black struggle. Remember, Mitt Romney, received 61% of the White votes to Obama's 39%, so go figure.

Yes, the Western media focus on the negative, but why won't they when the bulk of the continent is still dependent on Western aid to fight diseases and other socioeconomic problems. I am going to be honest, sometimes it is very difficult to focus on a few well built and nicely styled houses you see in Nigeria and other African countries, when the vast majority of the populace live in shacks. The shacks and deplorable homes take your eyes away from the so called nice houses. The only way we gain respect and international attention is to carry everyone along as a people. A Nigeria where a very few live in nice and well built homes will remain a laughing stock on the international stage. We are our own enemies. You have to give the white man credit. He hates to see another white person live in squalor and penury. He carries everyone along. The white man even assist those who refuse to move up the socioeconomic ladder. Unless we start doing that as a people, our very few high rise buildings and nice homes that belong to the less than the 1% will never attract any attention. All it does is show the world that a few of us live off the coffers of the government, while the majority languish. If we want to see positive things on BBC and CNN, we have to move everyone along. Unless we begin to do that, it will be impossible for any objective mind to ignore the quagmire that stares you in the face as soon as you land in Lagos, or any other Nigerian city, it is practically impossible.

I will sum this up by stating this: I visited the Owerri General Hospital last year. I was moved to tears. An average Westerner will not allow his dog or cat to be treated there. We are our own enemies. I will care less about a handful of nice houses I saw in Nigeria over what I witnessed at this so called hospital. We are moving at a snail pace as a people. Sometimes I wonder if Nigeria is too vast for a black brain to manage. That maybe a topic for another time. For now, there is nothing to be proud about.

Can you blame your Nigerian friends who are less specific about their country of origin? We have to sometimes call a spade a spade. It is very hard to come across an American who has not heard something negative about Nigeria. If they have not encountered a rogue Nigerian in person, they have done so via the yahoo email scam. I won't blame anyone who is very slow in telling others he is a Nigerian. Sometimes the word Nigerian can close doors in your face.

I believe Ihenacho will be a great addition to the team. He is WAY better than most of the attackers we have on the team at the present. We can't take the present core and expect a good outing. We saw how awful they looked at the confederation cup. They won't become great players overnight. The likes of Ideye and Oduamadi look pretty rusty. The eagles bench is be-rift of quality. I believe Keshi will do the right thing. If he believes Ihenacho will be an asset to the team, he will take him to the world cup. The core of the players from around the world at the mundial will be young. Ihenacho is a world class player, that's why you hear the clamor from every corner. He can fit in any where and produce right away. Look at the type of goals he scores. He was a man among boys at the under 17. He is going to the world cup. I am certain about that.

sunny t: To be frank, i dnt like it, i dnt want it and i dnt do it.

Maybe bcs i have 6 sisters, i dnt knw.

I dnt date my friends' sisters and dey dnt come near mine.
You are narrow minded. Your friend can be the best thing that can happen to your sister. What matters most is the kind of friend. If he is a good and accomplished friend, what's wrong with that? So get your head out of the gutter. Be more proggressive minded. You won't marry your sisters.
