WebmastersRe: .ng Down Again? by Seton(m): 1:16pm On May 18, 2009
sincerely .ng has been a torn in my flesh 'cos it has made me to lose many more deep pocket customers because of the fact they cannot register a domain for me, a .gov.ng for a local government of that matter after going through all the process. Twice i have tried to register in December 2008 as free and also april 28, 2009 when i had to pay again to register the same domain. I am really disappointed, the most annoying thing is that your mails to the registrar@register.net.ng are not always replied. For God when are we going to get it right in this country. Is it prayers or what.
I have learnt my lesson and which i think we all must have learnt and the only solution to it is 'never promise a client .ng'
it is really unfortunate.
Is things a country of our dreams?
Is this how they are going to treat many of us that have decided to use it as our Unique selling point?
Is is now a crime to be identified with .ng?
many quetions than answers

@ frank,
i think the best thing is that you have kickstarted something, and i know as time go on, the improvement you need on web development will fall in in stages. Sincerely, i do not know why you have to put google adsense when you know you are going to be selling something on your website, the problem is see there is that your prospects will end up buying what you are selling from ur competitors whose advert google has put on your website, or will you be satisfied with the click on the ad. i think you have to think about that. i think it is when one is giving a free stuff that is when you use adsense as ur back-end to make money, or what do you think folks.

WebmastersRe: Why Not A .NG Tld? by Seton(m): 9:53pm On Dec 21, 2008
I am yet to see any host will say they will not host a particular domain unless it is stated in their terms, but what i think you can do is to ask whether the hosting plan you bought can accomodate many domains, if yes, you can just buy the .ng and still host with the same hosting plan you have but when registering the .ng remember to put the correct Nameservers given to you by your host. It good to hear that guys are beginning to embrace this .ng boom, i seriously think nitda and nira do not disappoint some of us that are trying encourage it

ewealths:
I think one problem of the .com.ng will be reselling it,I am an online real estate person,I register domain simply because I want to sell it later, does it mean I will not be able to resell? Any useful tips please.
ewealth, i think www.nira.org.ng and nitda have tried to scheme out domainers, so we can resell .ng domains. some of the measures are the you provide an administrator who will be a worker in the organisation you want to register and i learnt they will call the person to confirm.

Commercially .ng domains will be available for registration from january 1, let us give them till end of january to see how far they have gone, or what do you people think.

about mydomain.ng maybe we have to talk to nira or any of their registrar. It won't be a bad idea you know

@Omnipotens
reach them at www.nira.org.ng or www.nitda.org.ng
Jobs/VacanciesTurn Your Skills To Money by Seton(op): 5:51pm On Dec 16, 2008
Why seek employment here in Nigeria without success, when you can actually look for jobs to do over the internet, where companies or individuals are ready to pay you for your skills or the talents you have. Thousands of jobs are available for those that can make themselves available. The questions now is that how do you turn your skills or talents to money. The only way is to look for those companies and individuals, and monetise those skills you have. Because you are proving your skill and talents, you are in control, you can really choose your working hours at your own convenient time unlike the conventional Nigeria way where you work 9am – 5pm.

The list of jobs available are inexhaustible. Whether you are a graduate or SSCE holder, it does not matter. You will always find jobs to do online as your employer only need your ability to complete jobs. Unlike the Nigeria method, you see it is not based on your qualification but your performance. Get those companies and individuals at www.internetfortunesforall.com.

Requirements: how to browse the internet (at home, office or cybercafe, anywhere connected to the internet. The easiest job to do with no experience at all is the customer service or Data entry. You will be paid after you must have completed the job through bank wire, western union, check etc as may agreed between you and your employer. To see those companies and individuals that are ready to pay you for your talents and skills, go to www.internetfortunesforall.com to see the list of those companies and individuals that are ready to pay you money for the skills. You can now work from home you know.

i think what is important is for us to embrace the .ng TLD, 'cos it is only we that can promote it,
what about its efficiency? i know you may want to know, we do not have control over that but i want to beg you in the name of whatever you believe in to always have a backup in case NITDA or NIRA fails, you never can tell.

WebmastersRe: Free Domain Name And Hosting by Seton(m): 9:38pm On Nov 10, 2008
to register for .com.ng, contact oludave7's company whom URL i have been trying to get, may be contact him or somebody else.

About dedicated servers i doubt if any Nigeria Host offers it, i stand to be corrected. For dedicated servers you will need to have your own server which has to be on for 24/7 because the host can not guarantee your heavy data to be hosted on their servers, you can contact foreign host like kiosk.ws or hostgator.com, i have been using their services for some times now, if you want to register with any of them, you can let me know so that i can send you my affiliate link, so that will help you here from Nigeria.

Meanwhile know that you will need about $100 per month,

Goodluck
