You can continue the Game of Thrones vs Spartacus debate here: https://www.nairaland.com/1248075/game-thrones-vs-spartacus |
coogar: spartacus is better than game of thrones - ... Frostyzone: And here we go again... Samunosuke: Are you shitting me? There is no way in the 7 kingdoms that you seriously believe Spartacus is better than Game of Thrones. Westeros is the creation from some one's mind while the arena is real history. No comparison there. Look at all the fantasy fiction out there: Lord of the Rings (+ the hobbit), Harry Potter etc. They are all epic. Spartacus, while good, is mostly blood and gore, building on from the success of 300. coogar: fantasy vs realism - which should people buy into? Dan_de_Numeruno: There are several actually. Dan_de_Numeruno: Here are some of the epic ones; coogar: these are memorable quotes? i laugh in doctore! Dan_de_Numeruno: Lol! Batiatus was insane with some of his explicit quotes, but it doesn't make one think. It only amuses. Game of Thrones on the other hand is full of insightful quotes. coogar: i don't hate game of thrones - i saw the first 2 seasons and i was particularly impressed with season 1. in my opinion, season 2 was mehhhhh but i am watching the current season. it's corny to compare GOT with spartacus. people tend to underrate spartacus because of the sheer nüdity and the raw violence but beyond those are dialogues that would make you fall in love with engish language. words put together so intelligently it would make shakespeare grin in his grave..... Dan_de_Numeruno: You made a very strong point. I have to agree with some of what you wrote. I do enjoy Spartacus because of it's raw and uncensored dialogues and excessive nudity and violence - I'm not a saint after all. And the Gods of the Arena remains my favorite season of the series, particularly because of the strong acting of Batiatus. ThiefOfHearts: Spartacus is garbage now. What's the point without Lucretia and BatiatusSource: https://www.nairaland.com/1243015/game-thrones-discussion |
You should first put it in FGN bonds. You can sell the bond when there is a sensible investment opportunity. |
Since your goal is just to keep the money safe so you won't spend it, I think you should put the whole amount in Nigerian Government (FGN) bonds that will mature when you graduate. |

Gabriel_sylar: Next time stop looking for cheap a55 hosting...go for verio, bluehost or godaddyGodaddy is not a cheap host? Are you sure about that? ![]() |
The owner of Web4Africa is a great guy and a Nigerian. He had been hosting sites long before I started Nairaland, and he was one of our initial set of members. I think these sorts of issues are a result of Web4Africa's massive size. It's very difficult to hold the hands of your customers when there are thousands of them instead of a few dozen. If you have thousands of customers and 1% of them are unhappy, things appear much worse than when you have 1 unhappy customer out of 100. Don't forget that they achieved their scale in Nigeria by acquiring our biggest hosting site - Nairahost - which was also having issues with support due to its massive size. We are probably not qualified to tell them how to run their business, but I believe they will figure out how to implement fantastic customer support and uptime at their huge scale sooner than later. |
Is it back now? |
yungboss: the title says 'top 30 fastest cars' and not 'top 30 fastest cars in Nigeria', so seun it doesn't look like a good point was made here...That's also a good point, but I guess I sympathize with the notion that Nairaland is about Nigerian things by default. The politics section for example, deals strictly with Nigerian politics, but we don't need to call it the Nigerian Politics section. Anyway, I guess we should forget this and get back to discussing the topic of this thread. |
JomoGbomo2: @feelamong, pls dont spoil this nahco stock more than it is already o. i hold loads of unit there and i dont plan to sell despite the disappointment. my plan is stay and le the price get to the bottom and then amass more of it so i can break even at worse case.if that's your plan, then you should encourage him to thrash it more so you'll get more of it at a cheaper price ![]() |
@Ignatio Don't read the books until at least the end of the current season or the next one. I'm saying this out of concern for your happiness. If you watch the tv series first, you will enjoy it a lot and your enjoyment of the books will be increased when you get to them because you'll have images to go with the words and because the book is so much more enjoyable. It will be like having a double orgasm. However, if you read the books first, you won't enjoy the series as much because the series will inevitably be dull compared to the images formed in your mind while reading the books. Moreso, the author of the books is a very slow writer. It could take him 5 - 10 years to release the next book. So there's no reason to rush to the books yet. You will have plenty of time for it after the series. If you must read the books, try to stop at book 2. Book 3 is the best one, so you would want to experience it on tv, this season and the next. Books 4 and 5 are quite dull. So please, pace yourselves! |
rfams: Been a 9ja forum I felt d title shld b speakg for 9ja roads. It seems like u didn't read d title bfore respondg on ma post. Typical 9ja person. You have a point, though we value all Nairaland members at home or abroad. |
Sounds like an allergy. If your current doctors can't figure it out, get a second opinion from a different hospital. |
boko are rams: I wonder wat totoodick has given seun dat his is never tired of pasting her ugly bleached monsterous looking face on nairaland. I never expected that a piece of totoo to be dis expensive. Mr seun beware! U are a victim of sexual fraud. I am always your brother and friendThe thread was posted on the home page by a straight lady. |
Frosti: Seun, the other thread was about Mazi's life while at NYSC camp.Thank you for your patient explanation. |
Okay, I guess I should at least be happy that this inscrutable activity is taking place on my forum and not elsewhere. |
ITbomb: Seun , Wetin him talk be say , d story for part 2 bin don end at page 97 , for person wey just join , dat person no go know wey the part 3 come start cos before this work comot , amebos and self imposed agberos don take over the thread come extend am to page 114.And what stops the amebos and agberos from posting on this new thread? (I composed the previous reply before seeing this post) |
Mazi_Omenuko: Did you see the previous thread? My last upload was at the 97th page, yet it got to 114 pages before I started this work.It still makes no sense to me. I can't understand the problem you thought you were solving. Are you implying that there is something inherently bad about a thread having more than 97 pages? Does it damage your story in some way? ![]() |
Mazi_Omenuko: I didn't want the same title for two different threads. I would have continued on the previous thread, but it got voluminous and would have been difficult to follow.Even your reason for starting a new thread makes no sense to me. Can anyone else explain the benefits of this decision? |
@Onila: I think I did, but wasn't that a very very long time ago? Why are you posting this now? Hope you're good? |
Why did you change the title?? The original title was fantastic. This one is simply lame and confusing. |
blogexpert: Correct, and Seun really needs to do something about that soonest. Smaller sites in Nigeria, are already using automatic payment systems on their sites and here we are. This is a good idea. Naturally, we have considered it. We plan to automate when we are satisfied with our evolving business model. |
