K.NET2: I was involved in slight automobile accident later that last Thursday evening I uploaded that design. I actually planned to retouch and upload the designs the next day, Friday, but as fate would have it… I have been in clinic since then till this morning. I'm sorry about the accident. Can you complete the retouching and uploading of your design? You can still win... |

ekt_bear: Seun, are you abandoning AdSense completely? If so, why? We're not abandoning Adsense completely, but for now we want to run with this new approach and see where it takes us. We had to retroactively disqualify one of the winners because none of his ads had anything to do with web advert design. |

lightheart: Name: Call me Kay Website: still under construction Portfolio link: www.flickr.com/lightheartdesigns (been a bit while tho') Your ads are sharp and hard to miss, which is excellent, but they suffer from 'tiny-textia' and the concepts and words can still be improved. |

Website: www.mavenitech.com There is far too much text in your ads and as a result, the text looks unnaturally squeezed. You need to say more with less and maintain natural aspect ratios. |

Gbolu: Nice contest here... But my little opinion is, anyone can design. What makes it effective is the question. Analyzing the target audience, the message... etc... I dont have any design to upload though cos i was just referred here by a friend and the contest closes in hours...
I blog on www.gbolubunmi.com and you can find some creative must reads there. Bros is it really impossible to design 4 tiny ads in 7 hours? |

@fizanos: 2. https://www.isudcrafts.com/2.pngThis is the best one you've made. Advertisers want ' attention grabbing' designs, and that design certainly grabbed my attention. However, including an email address is a waste of space. No one is going to type that out. Try including your phone number instead. |

www.nairaland.com/attachments/825903_advert1_png91777c34d506003c13ed3bbf75ed59ddLooks quite good. It appears that you designed it at a high resolution and scaled it down to 154x95 pixels at the final step. I've found that approach to be problematic, because: 1) It can result in scaling artefacts. The "ADVERTISE HERE" block of text suffers from this problem. The fuzzy tops. 2) It leads you to choose tiny font sizes, because font sizes that look ok at higher resolutions may be too small. You should design the ads at the targeted 154x95 pixel resolution. If you just can't do that, try to use fewer words & larger font sizes, and avoid designing at resolutions that are close to being exact multiples of the final resolution, e.g. 308 x 190. Use 380 x 238 pixels instead (to minimize scaling artefacts) and consider sharpening the image a little bit after downscaling to make the downscaled text less fuzzy. Also, please avoid compressing the image lossily (e.g. saving as a .jpg file) at any point. That is simply a bad idea. |
