They should ignore the threat of disgrace and report the men to authorities.

I will only blame them for not reporting, because this guarantees that other girls will suffer the same fate.

PoliticsRe: Naira Has Lost It's Value - CBN by Seun(mod): 5:36pm On Sep 03, 2012
Aigbofa: Naira is weak because we export only one commodity, oil. The strength of Naira is directly tied to it.
I have a lot to say about that, but it is clear that the CBN is not responsible for our dependence on oil exports either. But it's complex.
PoliticsRe: Naira Has Lost It's Value - CBN by Seun(mod): 5:21pm On Sep 03, 2012
The CBN is not to blame for the loss in the value of the naira. Only lawmakers and the president can fix this - by spending less.

So it doesn't get too nasty. If the sexuality section gets too nasty, the nastiness will spill out of the section.

Alas, NL is a one man business for now.
HealthRe: Nairaland Please Help,my Brother Is Going Nuts by Seun(mod):
The only problem with Nigerian mental health specialists is that, sometimes, they fail to check for causative factors. For example, if a person's mental challenge is caused by a stroke or infection or reaction to a drug, they may not do the proper tests. They'll just give you the regular treatment. So I feel it's a good idea to consult both mental specialist hospitals and very good teaching hospitals for a more complete understanding of what's happening to your brother. Always get a second doctor's opinion. Good luck.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Thread For Reporting Pages With Bad Words And Pictures by Seun(mod): 3:56pm On Sep 03, 2012
The sexuality section does not appear on google search pages.

Can any doctor in the house make more enlightened recommendations, please? Most of us are not experts.
HealthRe: Nairaland Please Help,my Brother Is Going Nuts by Seun(mod): 1:50pm On Sep 03, 2012
Some of these issues are caused by things like head injuries and infections and untreated dental issues.
There is nothing better than taking him to a good hospital. Don't listen to any stupid advice others may give you.
If the doctor at the hospital you took him to doesn't have a clue, take him to a better hospital.
What's wrong with the specialist hospital you took him to? Take him back there or take him to LUTH or Aro...

nasty45: ^^thanks u both....sleepin pills?sure that'l work?is there sth like a drug related test in the hospital?thanks y'al for your advise...been tinkin if there's sth i can giv him to sedate him a lil
You should have taken him to the hospital by now, instead of embracing the worst advice on the thread. Please, get him to a hospital right away. And please, don't administer drugs you know nothing about; you could end up making things worse or killing him. Drugs do interact with sedatives.

Chedarking: What now happens to all the bigoted, evil, racist statements on Nairaland?

All the abuse spilling over 5 pages?

And all the stupid posts about celebrities and their mothers?

Are you gonna hide them too?

Stop trying to impose your personal opinions on a public forum...even if it is yours!

You may ban me now.
Why should I ban you when you're just giving me your opinion? We certainly plan to deal with bigoted, evil, racist statements too.

[quote author=solidbroda]when u ban everybody in nairaland, ur eyes go open. If nah so yahoo and fcbook dey ban people without warning, maybe they would have massive followers? Anyway, just do what's is diplomatic and not tyranny[/quote
I'm confused. Isn't this thread a sufficient warning? huh
FoodRe: The Price Of Garri by Seun(mod): 4:37pm On Sep 02, 2012
Okija_juju: Seun,

I think you are going about this the wrong way. As the resident Eze Mmuo of Nairaland, I really do not see how enquiring about the relationship between a thread (which more often than none are absolutely useless threads that even hit the frontpage) and the price of Garri can be misconstrued to be 'wrong'..

'How does this affect the price of Garri" is simply a figure of speech particularly an Idiomatic expression that simply means "How does this affect anything'. I really think that you should reconsider your stand on this subject matter and treat it as just another one of those things. Otherwise, anyone who posts any message that is remotely divergent from the topic of a thread should be banned.

I would say thanks for your cooperation, but seeing as you have not once cooperated on any of my requests in the past from 'Creating a Photography thread, to making an Igbo man a super Mod to even stopping the ethinically charge Tribalism against the Igbo Nairaland community', I would end this message with;

Thanks and Hope you surprise me for once in over 5 years on nairaland.
It's gone too far. People now ask about the price of garri on every thread, and it's not as if they are sincerely interested in it.

uihebom: Why don't you carry a chair to the market so that it will be easy for you to monitor the price of garri.
Excellent suggestion!

DICKtator: @op:President of the NL garri association. Your head dey there!!!. I salute you!!.
While serving your ban, hope you spent time researching on issues that affects the price of garri and how such issues can be ameliorated.
I fully support the movement.
Garrinomics is here to stay.
It is the Renaissance- era of NL.

P.S:but how does this affect the price of garri on a serious note?
grin grin grin grin
I'm actually asking myself the same question!

Take him to the best hospital you can afford. It's probably treatable. It's not a spiritual problem and may not be the drugs. Get medical help.

I am not a spirit. However, I have serious issues and I have to hide myself for now in order to not to be mocked. No parties!!

SamAfrik: Well I'v been on NL less than 6mnths & av nt come across 'bad words/pix'.
Think mgt shd decide if they want quality or quantity. NL is by far beta than in terms of intelligent posts, I dont even bother reading comments on naija papers anymore.
Aww, thanks. I really appreciate this comment. People like you make the work we do worth doing!

Chedarking: Is it just me?

But I can imagine Seun and his army of Mods sat at the round table formulating new banning strategies.

Muki sat at his right hand taking notes, maclantunji doing pressups and Sexkillz sharpening his cutlass...while Seun prepares his holy rules based on the bible, the Koran, and Ugo C. Ugo.

And all this after a successful mission to eliminate garri sellers at iyanapaja market.

The mods must be crazy...
That's a hilarious mental picture! cheesy We would rather not have to ban anyone, though. It's a thankless job.

Zeus I: Good, so when should we commence on the reporting? Because frankly speaking, some persons up-here elicited the act of tribal sentiments in me, thus: resentful comments, but, i assure you, i am very versatile in adapting to changes, i was trained for war as well as in diplomacy, i can be polite as well as rude. If tribal sentiment could be reported, i will begin reporting right away, seriously.
You can start reporting right away. Thanks!

P Beni: I'm pretty sure Mr. Seun and his silly, partial, tribal, numbskul Mods won't do anything about the complaints on tribal insults. Infact, they pretty much enjoy watching people from different tribes insult each other.
No true. We welcome vigorous debates on ethnic issues, but we don't welcome insults or other types of personal attacks.

I think the whole idea is about conflict of interest and suppression of the rights of nlers in a contemporary democratic society.Seun and his mods derive their power from the forumites' obedience to their orders and they are afraid of a classless site. They see themselves as a ruling class while everyone else is seen as a subject class. This ruling class oppress the subject class by using the instruments available to them such as ban but they forget that power is not monolithic. You cant cage or bully people forever.we are in a free society,we've got rights and NL must respect our rights. Say no to ABSOLUTISM on NL.This is a free society not Animal Farm.
It's about commercial interests imposing certain standards on us and punishing us heavily for not meeting up to those standards.
