PoliticsRe: Youwin Winners To Access Funds Within 72 Days by Seun(mod): 11:40am On Feb 04, 2012
My comment on CP-Africa:

I applaud this initiative because it’s better than almost anything else that could have been done with the “youth development” money. However, let us not forget that, at best, the success of the ventures funded under this program will be abysmal compared to what an experienced venture capitalist or a group of angel investors would achieve with the same amount of capital.

When you put billions of public funds into the hands of academics and bureaucrats and ask them to fund good ideas, it sounds great, but it won’t do anywhere near as much good as you would expect, because the operators have nothing to gain if the ventures succeed and nothing to lose if they fail.

Private investors lose their ability to invest when they invest unwisely. If the money is yours, you lose the money, and if it’s for your clients, they lose it and you are fired. This natural selection process weeds out dreamers and wishful thinkers and rewards rational and realistic investors with more capital. In the absence of such accountability, it’s almost impossible for anyone to make wise investment decisions, no matter how sincere.

If she's shallow and obsessed with her looks and her weight then she will never get fat.
Also, if you have to beg her to eat 2 times a day for the sake of her health, she won't get fat.
If both of her parents are rich and skinny, and she is also skinny, then she won't get fat.

Christianity EtcNairalanders Incurring God's Wrath By Abusing God's Men by Seun(mod): 8:56am On Jan 26, 2012
Got this in my mailbox this morning:

nairaland. May God bless and reward you.

But there is a disturbing consistent occurrence I want to bring to your notice.

If you visit the Christian section you will see so many threads and

The posters are gradually incurring the wrath of God by those abusive
posts. Please I want you to look into this urgent incidents. It needs
to be stopped.

Remember they are using your platform to do this evil things, God will
not be happy if you allow it to continue without doing something about
it.

God bless you greatly.

BusinessRe: Consumers Want Govt To Regulate Foodstuff Prices by Seun(mod): 6:23pm On Jan 25, 2012
The govt should not be involved in setting transport fares either. If people cannot afford the fares, they will reduce their patronage of buses and taxis. They will not go out unless they absolutely have to, and they will trek or bike where possible. Apart from going to work, they won't go out until absolutely necessary.  Facing reduced patronage, transporters who can afford to reduce fares will do so, while those who can't will be forced to find a different business.  By this natural mechanism of demand and supply, transport fares will fall to a level that suits both transporters and commuters
BusinessRe: Consumers Want Govt To Regulate Foodstuff Prices by Seun(mod): 4:24pm On Jan 25, 2012
This is a ridiculous idea. Price ceilings always leads to shortages because they reduce the incentive to produce. In other words, if they do this, instead of food being expensive it will simply be unavailable. People who can't make profits on the new prices will be forced out of the agricultural business, leading to more unemployment. If the govt wants to force food prices down, they have to subsidize it with your tax-money, which is also very bad.

PoliticsRe: Foreign Firms Take 43 Percent Of Nigeria’s Oil Revenue by Seun(mod): 12:11pm On Jan 21, 2012
Let the best companies do the work, whether foreign or local. It doesn't really matter.  Local companies need foreign competition in order to do their best work.  Local companies have a strong advantage due to their superior understanding of the local ecosystem. If they can't take advantage of that advantage, then it's unlikely that driving their foreign competitors away will make them better.
PoliticsRe: Foreign Firms Take 43 Percent Of Nigeria’s Oil Revenue by Seun(mod): 12:04pm On Jan 21, 2012
You can't assume that doing things locally is better. Let the best companies do the jobs, simple.
Let us benefit from their expertise and use their products to create more innovative things.

If your intended customers are web savvy, then it will help sales, if you update the website regularly, make it search engine friendly, and respond to email enquiries promptly.
