@Chatters. I think this person is still on it. Have u tried other schools? @azeezwl. So sorry I can't reply your mail on my handheld. How far with your applications. It is well. One love. |
Chatters: Congrats my brother. Your TRV is sure. I beg how you manage secure supervisor from your dept at usask? I don write them tire so tey i just dey look them for eye. I remember they told you sometime ago about waiting for a supervisor who is willing to supervise you or something. How long did it take to get one. I'm facing the same problem at usask. Thanks, indeed. The Usask issue is new to me. I wasn't the one who had a supervisor issue, but I know someone else who does. In my view, getting a supervisor is always vital to an application to a research-based program. I will advise you to wait or re-tailor try to convince one that your research profile intersect theirs. Did u try to reach a supervisor yourself? Why wait for d department to get one for u when u could loop up their staff profile and email one directly. Wishing u the best. |
@rexxy 09, congrats. From me: I am grateful to God. CDHC has just called me. They wanted to stamp my passport but they decided to ask whether they should do that on it or whether I wanted to renew it. It has four more months to expire. I decided to choose the second option. I hope I didn't make a mistake. I just didn't want to seem desperate. I had got my dept at Usask to extend my resumption for about two weeks, while sending about 5-6 mails to the visa office yesterday, telling them about resumption. It got to them, since their call came today. Meanwhile I am still in PH, and I have asked a friend to help me get it. I sent an authorization letter too. I should leave for Lagos tomorrow. I pray I can get the TRV next week. Kindly keep me in your thoughts. May God perfect all the dreams here! Thank you. |
galala123: Thanks Oga Siga and all.Oga, the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord; even yours! To them that fear him, He will reveal his covenant. Really inspired by your grit. |
gree-die:On COZA... If Ese's narrative is true (for me, it is either ways); then it confirms the sham of our homiletics and the hypocrisies of our exegetical swags in Nigeria. From the politician's desk to the pastorpreneur's pulpit, the story is the same... A question or two, though: is the reason you are angry with Pastor Biodun your sympathy for Ese or because the whole episode gives you a platform to display the ignorance that enthrones men as gods in our churches? Are you angry because you forget that the best of men are never gods? It is time we stopped idolising pastors in Nigeria. If those in our class (at the bar, union or mosque) fall short of integrity, we cannot out of solidarity keep sealed lips. The Nigerian church iconises the man of God to a fault, and many do not know the balance between "touch not my anointed" and "Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD." I am reminded that even Nathan told David: "...by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme..." Eventually, if Ese's positions come out to be true and Biodun Fatoyinbo concedes it (By now, COZA should have come out with an unambiguous and honest response to Ese's alarming claims.); Would praying for Pastor Biodun mean anything to you? Will you speak the truth in love? Meanwhile, before all that, will you just hold your peace and be Christ-like? James Yeku |

Fhemmmy: Waoh, i read the last couple of pages and this thread is slowly going south . . . purpose of the thread is being killed slowly and the fun in reading it seems to be dying, let us all do what we could to make the thread remain one of the best source of information for those that would like to come and study in Canada.Great one, oga Fhemmmy. It is very pertinent we continue to keep things as formal and objective as possible. Many there be that will still reach to the sun through the hands being offered here. I am glad Chrigo has made the so-called needed adjustments with his smileys. (And by the way, it seems to me that most of you ogas in Canada are the ones who feel most irritated by these images, and that for me is interesting. Have u thought about somebody also getting irritated because another forum member posts comments using bold letters and/or upper cases? I think what comes across as offensive in a public communication space as this may be subjective, but isn't the rule of the game tolerance and love? I think so too! ) By the way, if a post by a forum member does not come across to you as possessing sufficient information value; you could just move on to the next one, what do you think? So, let's press on to the more crucial issues of informing folks who come here seeking help. There are many of our comrades who await medicals. They deserve our prayers. @Gboyega and @kjbobo are two folks I love to read. The insights are always worthwhile. Both of you, and of course all of us too, should keep things calm. Let's be patient with one another. Even @chrigo and king Solomon understand the need for moderation and balance, as their recent posts have shown. Let's remain friends, as we help one another to our desired haven. Dear brethren and sisthren! Nobody knows it all but Eledua (God)! One love! |
@Earthgreener. Congratulations. May this be the key to other medical doors. Insha Jesus! @Siga. Arsenal has only done what they do best: lose. Europa League all the way this time. As for me, Kano Pillars all the way... |
ChriGo: Icewater oga miThat blunt one from oga Siga may be needed; although you have done well to help. Let the tapping tinz continue. Praying for good news before today closes. |
adewaleafolabi: People i need advice on this.Dear brother, it is a tough situation indeed. But it hardly calls for despair. I would advise u send the mail using an institutional email address; I hope u have one from your school by now. I think missing the interactive session is not much of a problem. I remember my school wanted me to resume for a two-week acculturation course but I can't make it. It starts this monday, but my trv is yet to arrive. The truth is there will always be other ways to gain from alumni experience. Then, you should mail your school to ask their counsel too. Best of luck. |
efewhoa: just try to go there on time. The day I did mine I was there by 9 and I met just 2 people about three others joined later sha. And go with really good passport photos, that was what they used to delay me that day. Thanks, boss. Really grateful. |
@ All Good morning: Does anyone know about medicals in Port Harcourt? Should I envisage the normal crowd and urgency of Lagos? Then, could I send the funding "explanatory note" required by cdhc alongside passport via vfs? Thanks. |
kjbobo: Shadams, , Congrats once again, I believe there is no cause for concern.I was not able to pick up my passport and I got a message in my mail for "further" instructions too" so I am anticipating something like that too. |
Sir P!:@All. Good morning. I got my medical instructions from VAC yesterday. I have been asked to proceed to medicals indeed. HOWEVER, the pack also contains an instruction asking me to submit within 30 days "explanatory notes" on my plans for funding in my subsequent years, since the funding letter I submitted covers only first year. It is a Graduate Teaching Fellowship whose subsequent renewal is based on satisfactory performance in my first year. Is there a cause for panic? What do I do? Thanks. |
galala123: This pre-requisite course we are all taking is tough oh....Trust me, it is a course to pass. God is the teacher. No carry over. I just passed mine. Got my medical instructions on, 6th Aug, my wedding date. I applied on May 6 So grateful to God. @bumfem, I hope u have yours too. Praise be to Jesus. Meanwhile, I am leaving for PH. Could I authorise sb to submit my pack to them after medicals? Thanks folks. |

bumfem: @galala123....I can see things have not been going on so fine with your beautiful list. But I know it is well. The VOs seem to have jumped the app in the first week of May. U, myself, kjolo and many other early May seems to have been turned to spectators on this forum but I know God no go gree . We shall all share testimony IJN. I mailed them yesterday got no reply till now.@Bumfem. U are right o. Many of us who submitted in first week of May have indeed become cheering spectators. But that is the spirit na, abi? Rejoice with those that rejoice.. And yes, let's keep hope alive. Meanwhile I also submitted on the 6th of May, and the chill pills are becoming less potent, but for God... |
Onye oma: Congrats bro....moving gradually to our turn...@ Great community we have here. I am inspired by the news of trvs, medical-ups and the attendant responses of those who are waiting. Let's keep the faith. Next week will usher him more rewards of our trust in God. |
ceo mr ca$h:At last. So happy for you. Let the good news continue to pour in... |
dommakavelli: Did they jump date or what?True. Besides, It may just affirm the truth that we cannot be absolute about our permutations here. I am yet to understand the patterns at the CHDC sef. It is well. Our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. Let's expect more positive news. @Uche. A good feel of the frill of ur chill pills..wells done, nice poem! |
efewhoa: Agents finally called me that my medical invite as arrived. I will go and get the test done sometime next week. Submitted on the 18th of AprilMany cheers, brother. Happy for u! May God perfect the rest of the story. |
teexzle: Pls wich school gav u a fully funded scholarshpThe University of Saskatchewan... |
adexcube: Congrats bro, save trip but i want us to understand something here, he is on scholarship which means little or no verifying of bank statements from the bank by CDHC hence he was called for medicals after 2months and got the TRV in 3months as against the call for medicals after 3months. I personally feel both paper and online application is gonna be the same time-frame.Good points. But it may not follow, u know. My application is premised on a fully funded scholarship, and that means, going by your points, that there should be less documents to verify. But here I am, after 2months of application via vfs. Let's just enjoy this moment of inspiration. What do u think? Ire aka ri o! |
debbieey: My TRV is out too!! Glory be too God!! Since 15th Of March that I applied.Congrats to you and others. For those of us still awaiting medicals, let's keep the faith alive. Cheers all. |
batteryempty: Pls. gurus in the house, am an ardent reader and keen follower of this thread. Why not get on google and identify the particular schools you want? Most, if not all, schools in Canada have these courses on offer. You will have to delimit the search yourself. Folks here could take it from there if their experiences intersect yours. Best of luck. |
Dee_man: Hello Is anybody in the house traveling this august? i am traveling in August, my destination is Saskatoon enrout Toronto please holla at your boy am Flying Ethiopian Airways.Brother man, everybody cannot be travelling in August o. I am also headed for Saskatoon in August. Meanwhile, calmly waiting for medicals and my study permit. What is your level of study? |
Are You Still Born Again? /p2lEgl-1C It is 5:15am on a Sunday morning, and I am just miles away from the Lagos International airport at Ikeja. A friend will be leaving the country soon, and I am in bed, pondering on all that has gone into ensuring a hitch-free journey. I am in a hotel room, also thinking of my own intentions in the new month. My plans come sprawling before my face; marriage, furthering in my academic pursuits, being more sensitive to my ageing parents, and as I continue, it dawns on me: James, one thing is needful! The irony of this is that, in a place like Lagos, known for its boisterous commune of frenzy and hustle, only one thing is hardly useful. To survive in this city, you will have to have so many things catered for. This is in addition to the terrific traffic situation you have to manoeuvre to get to your destinations. All at once. Yet, God says to me, and perhaps to you too; only one thing is truly needful for a life of rest and peace. Quit the rat race, embrace the fight of faith. Choose it and none will take it from you. So what is this one thing? Let's hear it from the mouth of the Saviour of the world, Jesus Christ: "Seek FIRST the kingdom of God and his righteousness.." This immediately halts my initial worry process. I suddenly realise that, despite all of my legitimate needs, demands and desires, all that God would have me focus on is the kingdom, its gospel of grace for sin pardon, and its call to a life of integrity, truth and justice. So, here is the question: what is your focus right now? Money or mercy? Gold or God? Fame or faith? Besides, might God be saying to you: I need you to contend for the faith of Christ more than you have ever done, not for bread. Not for another promotion at work. Not for things that lose value when we close our eyes in death. Contend for the faith. Live for your saviour in a world that is hostile to him. Whether it is in Lagos or New York, one thing is certain; many are busy in the pursuits of their own agendas, and this is not bad. However, God is also saying to us all; hey, guys, it is time to shift gaze to the kingdom once again. It is time to contend for the faith. Time to live with eternity in view. So back to my hotel room where my friend has just told me about how he constantly sought God's face for a child, and then it was time to seek God's face again for protection, and the circle continues, yet one thing is needful. Are you still born again? Is your walk with the Lord centred on the kingdom or your needs? Are you contending for Jesus through your own life and lifestyles? These are the thoughts flooding my heart in the noise that is gradually building up around, but I realise Lagos is coming alive, and so must my faith in Jesus. |
oln: ^Did your friend make use of an agent? He didn't use an agent. You can do these things yourself, really. Best of luck with your application. |
