Hello everyone, please I am really new on this canada thread. Can I apply to study in canada with 2.2 bachelor degree in Sociology/Anthropology for a masters program in sociology?

Calm down there, we re all here to assist one another on this forum n not talk about using any silly agent. Most agents are scammers n are only intrstd in d money they expect to get 4rm u. I've seen several cases of people using agents n then regretting it afterwards. Now d latest is dis fake bank statement n then d victims end up getting a ban, while those dt are yet to apply find it difficult to convince a VO dt they re genuine. Biko, agent matter is a NO NO jor

eightyeight:
Just to put it out there. Using an agent is not a bad idea. There are certified peope who are immigration consultants and recognized by the Canadian immigration. They know all the loop holes and various strategies. They do not come cheap though, least they will charge you is 2,500 CAD. If you are going to use an agent at all, make sure they are registered and certified.

Traditionally, it used to be between 3-5 days, then it moves from 5-10 days. Now, it has eaten deep into more than 10 days. So, I can't really give an accurate answer. But i do hope yours comes back quickly.

Best of luck!

Nice, and congrats to u

Mudicua:
That amount is the passport processing fee you are required to pay. However it is meant for those who did not do their biometrics with VFS.

I got to find this out when I went to submit my passport.
The VFS people were shocked my application was July 2018. I did not take the slip to show I did biometrics there... cos I did not even remember where I kept it. They insisted I have to pay the fee, but I insisted I need to see the manager, and then I explained to the manager, though initially he was forming busy and not wanting to help, I kept insisting I did my biometrics there and to find a way to check.
While we were going back and forth on the matter, I no gree oooo cheesy cheesy cheesy
He said something about if i got a notification from them to check it. Then I remembered I got, and had to check my email... and thankfully I saw the email from VFS. I wrote out the number and gave to him, and that was how I ended up not paying the fee for passport processing.

For those yet to get PPR, when submitting passport after your PPR request, please do not forget to take the biometrics slips given when you do biometrics.

No idea but i think its for applicants who did biometrics from either July or November 2018 (not yet certain abt it tho)

litterbug:
Thank God....count down begins now.
Pls what's the #13,480 fee for abeg.

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Shadypoza01: 4:22pm On Jul 02, 2019
Abuja vfs really wasted my time. I was finally able to submit my passport today at Lagos vfs and was exempted from d payment of #13,480 cos my application was in June 2018.
Thanks to everyone here who was of assistance along d way. I appreciate u and this platform

No, they didn't ask me but it doesn't mean dt they might not ask you, cos i saw a post of someone saying they asked for his/her bank statement after doing d medicals but as soon as they verified it, d visa was approved.

moetariq:

Shady Poza, that's a strong one. Congrats. This took over a year.
Did IRCC at any point ask you for a new bank statement or proof of funds? Or that POF you submitted overall year ago is still the one that will be used to conclude the case. I have applied and am supposed to return the money. Hope they won't ask me for a second POF? Gurus please comment.

Vfs Abuja is crazy. They still didn't allow me submit my passport today n kept insisting on a reference document 4rm embassy. As if d passport submission letter wasn't enough. And they re not even aware of the 13k fee dts supoz to be paid. Heading to d airport already, lemme goan sort it out in Lagos vfs
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Shadypoza01: 10:25pm On Jun 27, 2019
Yeah am hoping it will, guess we'll find out 2mrw. Tnx dear n i will definitely drop d update of d outcome by 2mrw

Obehi44:

I wish this will work and not to stress you traveling to Lag.
Please let us know how far how it goes.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Shadypoza01: 9:51pm On Jun 27, 2019
For real Wow, thanks alot mehnnnn... Will go back there with it tomorrow and try to sort it out. I really appreciate.

emeritus00:

They gave you a slip attached with stamped photocopy of your passport when you submitted your biometrics or paper application. The reference number the guy is asking for is in that slip. You take it along with the passport request letter.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Shadypoza01: 9:48pm On Jun 27, 2019
Thanks alot, will act on this.

Mudicua:
I think @ralfudoh will be in the best position to help you on this. I only mentioned him cos he is one of the persons who recently got PPR and submitted passport at Abuja a few weeks ago in May. I will also suggest that you find out from the manager what the reference letter looks like. If he has a sample then he should show you.
Rather than fly down to Lagos and then find out the same thing is now applicable in Lagos, I would suggest you make enquiries first. Afterall I believe it is the same VFS Global.

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Shadypoza01: 1:43pm On Jun 27, 2019
Exactly what i thought mehnnn. Getting to VFS Abuja, d manager asked me to send a mail to embassy, requesting a reference letter. Na wa o. Maybe I'll just have to fly in to Lagos 2mrw n submit it in Lagos

ghabrhiel10:

You just need only that passport request letter (a page) to submit your passport. Its even stated on the letter and that was the only thing I submitted here in Lagos last week friday then I paid 13480 or so for passport transmission
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Shadypoza01: 12:36pm On Jun 27, 2019
Hello house, pls for those who got passport submission mail, pls how many documents or pages where in d attachment sent? Mine is jst a page n getting to Abuja office 2submit my passport, i was told that a reference letter ought to accompany it or so. Is this d same thing with those that submitted in Lagos?
Cos i was told here at d submission office to mail Lagos embassy to resend d complete attachment.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Shadypoza01: 8:44pm On Jun 26, 2019
My case was a hectic one mehnnnn. I applied June 11, 2018 via online, did my biometrics on June 13, 2018 (in Lagos), waited 13 whole months b4 any update came up on my CIC acct.(while waiting i kept sending mails n applied for GCMS notes twice). Finally got a medical request mail on June 11, 2019.
Was able to schedule a medical appointment in Abuja and successfully carried it out June 19, 2019. On June 22, 2019 (last Saturday) my CIC account was updated to "medicals passed". And today which is 26th of June, i received my passport submission request.
That's d time line of how long my Study visa application took.
#DelayIsNotDenial #GodIsGreat

Obehi44:

When did you apply and when we're you called for medicals or was it up front medicals? Kindly share your time line pls.

Thanks alot, though my biometrics was done in Lagos but due to d back log of Passport collection, i decided i will submit mine in Abuja though i did my medicals here in Abuja as well.

kcosam:

Congrats dear, if it's the same place you did your biometrics, then there won't be any charges, just go with the ppr letter. All the best.
