FamilyRe: My Marriage Is Going The Wrong Way, I Need An Advice by shaiba(f): 6:25pm On Jul 28, 2015
I feel your pains, but u r handling it the wrong way. I see a lot of this in my place of work, in the case of the foreigners they take the risk of resigning and going home to put their house in other. We had a similar situation at work, the young man called his wife's phone and a man's voice replied after several attempts the wife picked the phone and said she has moved out of their home and married to another person. it took the intervention of the HSE Supervisor and HR manager to see this young man home safely.

Young marriages tend to have some challenges which if not handled properly can leave a scar on both parties for the rest of their lives.

Please take sometime off your job to attend to your wife and her needs. Take a trip, or honeymoon in some good hotel in Nigeria.

Spend a lot of time to talk, talk and talk again about your feelings and plans for your family. Let her know you cant do it alone and you need her help, to be there for you.

Seek her input towards building the family.

As much as possible make her understand how deeply you love her.

Above all pray together.

It might take a while, and u will get to hear things u have never thought about from her, but please keep your calm and leave the other woman out of it.

May God heal your marriage.

RomanceRe: Help A Rape Victim by shaiba(f): 4:04pm On Jul 26, 2015
To help her, that is if you really want to, you have to take your mind of the issue of sex. Can u do that for a friend? Lol

Its going to take a lot of talking and therapy sessions (with a trained certified Psychiatrist), she needs someone she can trust, one who could help her come back to the real world. Right now she has a life but not living the life. Also keep her in your prayers.

No one is perfect, most times our past teaches us to camouflage and we become masters of shutting out pain, sorrow, heart aches etc. and we become numb to joy, peace and love that surrounds us.

I wish you help her as a friend and don't look at what you can get out of it. Could be the reason God made your paths to cross.

Just my thoughts anyway.

PoliticsCall DG DSS To Order, Rivers Forum Implores Buhari by shaiba(op): 7:36am On Jul 26, 2015
Director General of the DSS, Mr. Daura

By Jaiyeola Andrews in Abuja

The Rivers Renaissance Forum (RRF) has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to call the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) to order, alleging undue interference in the proceeding of the Rivers State elections tribunal sitting in Abuja.
The allegation by the group against the DSS DG was contained in a petition sent to Buhari and signed by Tamuno Peterside, a copy of which was made available to journalists.

The group also alleged that the Director General of the DSS was planning to “witch hunt, coerce and intimidate electoral and judicial officers connected with or handling matters related to the 2015 general elections held in Rivers State as well as the election petition therefrom.”

In the petition, the group alleged that the DSS DG was selective in the invitation of some state Resident Electoral Commissioners including that of Rivers State, as well as members of the various panels handling the election petitions arising from the recent elections in the country.

RRF noted in the petition that the selective invitation, was a “subtle attempt at directly or indirectly intimidate them and influence the outcome of the various petitions presently before the election petition tribunals.”

“It is important to draw the attention of the Director General of the DSS to the fact that the service which he is privileged to serve is a Nigerian institution catered for by the Nigerian Tax payers’ money.

“The least that is expected of him is to discharge his responsibilities firmly but fairly and not embark on a clandestine resort to intimidation of a section of the populace because of perceived political differences.

“We therefore call on President Muhammadu Buhari to rein in this apparently over-zealous officer who from all indications has not been able to wean himself of his erstwhile role as the Deputy Director of security and to properly play his role as the Director General of the Department State Security which is a highly professional and non-partisan institution of government and not an arm of the ruling political party,” the group alleged in the petition

RomanceI’ve Found Love —tonto Dikeh by shaiba(op): 7:27am On Jul 26, 2015
Background

My full name is Tonto Charity Dikeh and I am Ikwerre from Rivers State. I was born into a close-knit family of seven. I studied Petrochemical Engineering at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology. I had a beautiful childhood because my parents did not deny me the good things of life. Memories from my childhood are dear to me and are etched in my mind. I also have a very good relationship with my parents and siblings contrary to what people want to believe.

Nollywood

I started becoming popular after I emerged first runner-up in a reality show called The Next Movie Star. Shortly after, I began featuring in Nollywood movies and that was how I gained prominence in the industry. Some of my earliest roles in Nollywood include those I played in movies like Tea or Coffee, Pounds and Dollars, Missing Rib and many others.

Music

Acting is my first love and I did not abandon it to become a musician. I still act and I will continue to do so. I will not abandon singing either. In fact, I am working at becoming a better musician because I am still learning the ropes. I am currently working on releasing an album so my fans should expect nothing but the best from me. I am collaborating with a foreign artiste whose name I am not going to mention because I want it to be a surprise.

Interests

Apart from acting and music, I am also a businesswoman. I like to buy landed properties anytime I see what I like and realise I can afford it. I have produced several movies and I have gone to countless film schools through the years to hone my skills as an actress and producer. In the future, I hope to have a reality show that would give an insight into my life and the activities I am involved in.

Achievements

Any avid viewer of African movie channels would attest to the fact that three or more movies where I have featured are broadcast every day. I am an Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award winner and a regular face in Nollywood Movies. I am not one to blow my trumpet because I would rather have my works speak for me.

Controversies

Many celebrities say they don’t read comments on stories written about them on the Internet whereas they read them. I am one person who doesn’t visit blogs and websites. It’s a personal decision not to do so. I don’t even know what these blogs are called. I have a cordial relationship with all my colleagues and I have absolutely no issues with Mercy Johnson-Okojie as it was once speculated; we are all cool people.

Personality

I would say I have a great and strong personality. I love myself so much. I am not also as shy as most people think I am. I didn’t let depression eat me up. You have to fight depression and overcome it; I did and won. I started the Tonto Dikeh Foundation so I can help others conquer depression.

Love

I have not always been lucky with love and relationships but right now, I am happy I’ve found love. I have too many thoughts on marriage and I can spend an entire day speaking about it. I will marry whoever God leads me to. The inspiration behind my hit track, Sugar Rush is the fact that love conquers all.

Regrets

I have absolutely no regrets in life because I consider every experience a lesson for me. I am most thankful for the life I am living and don’t wish to be anybody but me.

Style

I love to dress very casual yet classy. If I am allowed to, I can wear my sleepwear all day but my stylist won’t let me do so. I love diamond and shoes.

HealthHow Chlorine Gas Almost Choked Us To Death — Jos Victims by shaiba(op): 7:20am On Jul 26, 2015
No fewer than eight people died and 101 others are in unconscious state after inhaling chlorine from a cylinder that exploded at the treatment plant of the Plateau State Water Board in Jos.

Though the Director of Press Affairs to Plateau State Governor, Mr. Emmanuel Nanle, confirmed the casualty figures in a statement on Saturday, eyewitness said more than 160 people were affected by the incident,

Our correspondent gathered that the cylinder containing the gaseous substance exploded at about 11.30 pm on Friday while people were asleep and enveloped the entire neighbourhood.

The incident, SUNDAY PUNCH learnt, was caused by excessive inhalation of the substance.

Among the victims were a pregnant woman, a doctoral student, and another second year student of Political Science of the University of Jos. They were all said to be living in the area, just behind the treatment plant.

Those mostly affected were staff of the Nigeria Immigration Service, whose quarters are near the water board plant. Others were mostly medical students of the University of Jos and the National Film Institute.

Both the dead and the wounded are at the Plateau State Specialist Hospital; Our Lady of Apostles Hospital; Bingham University Teaching Hospital and the Air Force Military Hospital, Jos.

Another survivor, a 500 level Medical Laboratory student of UNIJOS, Christiana Paul, who spoke from her hospital bed at the Plateau State Specialist Hospital, said when she perceived the odour, she thought it was a bleaching agent.

She said, “I knocked the doors of my friends and we all ran out towards the water board. But we discovered that the stench was coming from there, because the further we ran, it became stronger, then, we ran back. The next thing I did was to soak one of my shirts inside water and used it to cover my nose, but the odour still permeated the soaked cloth and I was almost choking. As I kept on running, I lost much energy and passed out. Someone just came, picked me and brought me to the hospital. One of my friends could not make it as she passed out and died.”

A survivor, Mrs. Eke, said to be living at the Nigeria Immigration quarters was too weak to speak as she was still on oxygen to stabilise her condition.

Other victims, a 58-year-old guard, Enoh Magaji, his wife Mary, 44, and two children, Jacinta, 18 and Goodluck, are still battling for survival at the Accident and Emergency Ward of the Plateau State Specialist Hospital.

Public Relations Manager of Plateau State Water Board, Mr. Nangor Ndam, told our correspondent that the cylinder had been leaking, but nobody noticed it before the burst.

Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, in a statement signed by Nanle, described the incident as unfortunate.

The statement said, “The Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, has described as unfortunate, the explosion from the chlorine cylinder of the Plateau State Water Board Treatment plant, which is located at Dogon Karfe, Jos-South Local Government Area.

“Governor Lalong, while sympathising with the families of the eight victims, who lost their lives, also wishes the over 101 affected persons of the chlorine inhalation living within the treatment plant, currently receiving treatment at OLA Hospital, Evangel Hospital (Jankwano), Plateau Specialist Hospital and Air force Military Hospital, a quick recovery.”

The statement assured the public that the government has already contained the situation, adding that the contamination has not affected the water which has been supplied to the public through the main water pipes.

Our correspondent gathered that the recent event marked the third time that expired dangerous gas would escape from cylinders stored at the warehouse of the board.
