Fiscus105:I wonder how you guys made the election to be about who obaseki fought or didn't fight, when it was about the choice of Edo people and the irregularities of the electoral process but you guys desperately try to distract people from the main issues, same thing you did at the presidential election when we talk of Inec sabotaging the process they will say pdp was divided, when you talk about how bvas number votes assigned to a party is more than the number of accredited voters, rather than speak on than they'll tell you how obi divided pdp's vote like godamn it, those aren't the primary issues who steal who's vote, who fought who is not your concern, our concern is stick to the electoral process, right now in the Edo election there are polling units elections didn't take place but votes were given to the apc how did it happen? Collation was supposed to be done at the local govt level why wasn't it done there, on the news yesterday a local uniben shuttle driver came on air to claim that his shuttle bus was taken by the police, according to him he was supposed to carry the election material t the local govt collation office but after voting the Inec officials diverted him to somewhere else when he resisted the police attached took the bus and drove away with the Inec officials and election materials after voting, they didn't go to the local collation centre the guy came on air on Monday to appeal to the police to return his bus. |
haffaze777:school is not on session my guy, how can students be celebrating when they aren't even on session. You guys need to stop this propaganda if you're not from here stop trying to paint a false picture of things. |
senatordave1:I know you will always defend the apc no matter what, the results was massively rigged, at the collaction centre. |
aswani:it's the Ronu folks who always assume anyone who criticizes Tinubu/Apc is igbo, I have been called igbo a thousand times, they are not the instigator of ethnic hate, I have been around the internet and paid attention to these discussions I can't vouch for every of their actions but the other group is definitely more hate filled. |
aswani:it's not just about the oba's comments, generally they are the ones who carry Edo election for head, yet they tell other to stay out of theirs, maybe you haven't noticed it. |
haffaze777:I should be the one telling you guys to leave Edo state alone, the Edo election you hardly see Edo people online it is usually the yoruba Ronu folks who have something to say, the election did not happen in Lagos, it didn't happen in ogun state but you una carry the matter for head in such a pathetic manner, yet when it comes to Lagos you'll say igbos and others should stay out of Lagos politics. |
stuffs4me:what level of foolishness is this, Edo is largely obidient, not labour party dient, how does your brain even thinks that just because we supported obi for president and he ran under labour so automatically any Candidate that comes under labour would inherit obi's vote, only Ronu miscreants think like this. 2 you always claim igbos always like to interfer in Lagos politics that they should stay away from Lagos politics how then the yoruba Ronu miscreants cant do the same and stay away from Edo politics, the Edo elections didn't happen in Lagos neither did it occur in ogun or iragbiji, but nah una carry matter for head pass, the igbos you all love to hate have never been this involved or hate filled like what you all are doing to Edo state. Finally Edo is still obidient if a presidential election is to be held today in a free and fair manner obi will still floor Tinubu. |
The oba of Benin is a father to all irrespective, nah only oba of Lagos dey support political party shamelessly, which is a disservice to the traditional institution. |
Goodnewsforlife:what is the obsession with yoruba Ronu folks and the Edo election, the election did not happen in Lagos, neither did it occur in ogun or iragbiji, but since you guys have been carrying this issue on your head, when it is lagos you tell everyone to stay away from Lagos local politics, yet you cant do the same for Edo, what level of hypocrisy is this. |
If nigeria were to pay for it's sins to individuals the nation would not have a penny left, I have been a victim of abuse of fundamental human rights by nigeria, our foundation was trained to just accept we are at the mercy of the govt and it's institutions but not every nation subscribe to such form of modern day slavery. |
gigabyte13:is there any politician who has not been assisted to win, could shaibu had fought that battle on his own, my concern is seeing these guys placing their grievances about the welfare of the state and the people they claim to govern. |
kedeojo:you must be very insensitive to think you are more of a son of the soil than I am, I am a full blooded bini boy, I doubt you are even from around here, because only a bastard child would support outsiders to do to him, what they would not allow you do to them, in Lagos election we saw how a bayelsa woman was injured, anyone not yoruba and not supporting the ruling party was a potential victim of violence, today those same people who would tell you to " stay out of Lagos politics " are the same people shifting the goal post. 2. Where you blind when these same bastards where insulting the oba of Benin, when he visited Lagos and made some remarks the insulted the Benin kingdom, they make all sort of derogatory remarks here you are supporting them. Mind you the freedom they have to comment on Edo election, to even participate in the electoral process they would never afford you that privilege, only a bastard son of Edo land would support them. |
Thundafireseun:you guys need to stop talking about this election pls you are so if ignorant, the reason obaseki won was largely due to the social political consciousness of Edo people then against godfatherism and the druggie godfather now president. Btw I thought you all will always say that the igbos should stay out of Lagos politics how come yoruba ronu folks come carry Edo matter for head pass Edo people, what happened to stay out of our local politics, the hypocrisy is alarming. |
Sign of how corrupt apc is |
CoronaVirusPro:it's funny how Ronu people will be talking about Edo election when they know nothing about it, the same obaseki was paying 40k when the minimum wage was 30k, I doubt if your state gov was paying that even before federal govt approved 70k minimum wage obaseki already was paying 70k, dude reformed the civil service of the state, yet you have the audacity to at he is one of the worst, obaseki is definitely better than most of the governors in nigeria and 10 times better than the druggie president, you Ronu people are just pained because of the " Edo no be Lagos" disgrace he gave to your god Tinubu, you"ll tell igbos to stay out of Lagos politics yet nah the same yoruba Ronu gang carry Edo matter for head. |
Ronu people will say igbos should stay out of Lagos politics, it came to Edo politics you"ll see this same idiots they are everywhere on the internet, the Edo election did not happen in lagos, it didn't happen in ogun, or iragbiji, but nah them carry the matter pass for head pass Edo people. |
Denalarian:we didn't oh there were massive rigging here, massive vote buying the mood in benin now is just the same when Tinubu won the presidential election. |
Raf4:those are people who want governance to be transactional were state resources are being shared to them, if any have any issue against obaseki about the fight how many has come out to say what obaseki did to them. |
ogaemma:I agree with you too on his fight with shaibu to be honest at some point I thought the humiliation was too much, but I still felt angry with shaibu for not understanding simply why Edo central should produce the next governor, his battle with the oba is still regrettable, but damn Asue was the best. Morning to you too sir. |
Asue was the best Apc and rigging cannot be separated Inec adhoc collation officers were being given 100k each to alter results on the sheets, there were some polling units where number of votes given to Apc were more than number of accredited voters, there were some polling units were elections did not even take place as there were no bvas voter accreditation but yet apc were given thousands of votes from those polling units, they say obaseki failed they want to teach obaseki a lession obaseki is a two term governor he has served his maximum limit, he was going out anyway, they give themselves flimsy excuse for denying Edo it's choice of the best man for the job. |
Barrywilly:Edo people did not deal with obaseki anything, obaseki is a two term governor, if you aren't from here then stop making assumptions, I am from Benin yes obaseki's rancour especially with the palace was uncalled for, but Edo people knew obaseki was going out, how can Asue was the best, you can say something else but not that Edo people had a thing against obaseki by voting against Asue, maybe the political elites, federal government do, but definitely not the average Edolites. |
yarimo:I can't understand yoruba Ronu folks obsession with Edo state, everywhere you turn you are just there like you have nothing productive going on in your lives, no be Lagos, ogun, ekiti or osun state Dem do election, yet these miscreants would ask non indegenes to stay out of Lagos politics but can't do same for others. I don't know how people can be these pathetic. |
Almond911:by Nigerian standard he tried, all these Ronu people saying he is the worst governor are just being stupid, he was paying 40k minimum wage when the national minimum wage was 30k, he approved 70k minimum wage before the federal govt and labour even settled for 70k, he brought reforms into the state civil service, like it became easy for pensioners to get their pension and he was consistent in pension payment, he never owed salaries as far as I know, he built new Secretariat, before now road construction where usually done to appease party big wigs like if a top politician lives in a community he was more likely to get a road done faster than a community that needs it more, obaseki can just come and fix your road without having a known political figure in that area, but there are criticism that he is not doing much road construction I can't speak on that because I haven't gone round the state to see all the roads for myself, there is a seaport he is trying to develop, the gele gele seaport, I think he was just trying to set up Edo macro-economically, as against the kind of leadership that is been defined by a leader constructing and cimmisioning a two block classroom as development not that there is anything wrong with cimmisioning public schools, look I hardly praise Nigerian politicians, but in terms of performance among his fellow governors obaseki is definitely among the top, he has been able to increase internally generated revenue without even adding more tax burden to the masses. |
Quelme:how can obaseki be the losser, obaseki is a two term governor, how did he lose? The major lossers are Asue ighodalo and the Edo people, Asue was definitely the better candidate. |
ogaemma:bros if your are not from Edo, it is best if you all stop reposting rumours, you claim he betrayed oshiomhole how? If he did something wrong why did oshiomhole not come out and tell Edo people what obaseki did wrong? at the apc primary he was disqualified illegally he had to switch to the pdp if you are a governor won't you at least try to fight for your office? The shaibu thing, how did obaseki betray shaibu? In nigeria how many deputy governors had free hand like the way obaseki gave so much power to shaibu, at some points shaibu serves at the acting governor because obaseki saw him as a brother, shaibu even have many ministries under his office, he had powers to make appointments to cabinet, obaseki carried him along, then he had plans to succeed obaseki, and by rotation of power it was the turn of Edo central they have never produced a governor, how difficult was this for shaibu to understand yet he still fought to succeed, I may not agree with everything obaseki did, but for most he wasn't wrong, a man must stand for something you can't just live life and just watch as everyone is just trying to dictate your every move for you. And as a governor obaseki was definitely not that bad, he did some remarkable projects, he reformed the states civil service, he was paying 40k minimum wage when the national was 30k he increased it to 70k before the federal govt approved 70k, he may not be that involved in PR but obaseki is definitely by nigeria's standard of leadership fairly ok. |
kingzjay:Phillip shaibu is not getting anything out of it, the only thing is he thinks he gets revenge, he has no position in govt, he can't contest any federal seat, obaseki is a two term gov, Asue did him no harm. He is just driven by hate not that he gets anything tangible out of it. |
deji17:the claim about Inec adhoc official inflating figures was something a former neighbour who worked with Inec witnessed firsthand, there was obvious rigging no doubt my only concern is can the opposition prove that the rigged result is more than the difference between the winner's vote and theirs? |
Metordman:real talk, you can't say you won an election in a state yet everywhere and everyone is just sad, same air when Tinubu was declared the winner. |
Christ4ever:this nonsense talk must stop, Asue was the best candidate how did he impose anybody? Is okphebolo not being imposed on Edo people by oshiomhole and the federal might? |
deji17:some results are different, some polling units the number of votes is way more that number of accredited voters, but the electoral manipulation of result sheets I wasn't informed if the other party agents were present, over here now the state governor and the pdp accused Inec of denying their agent access to the collation centre, and according to them the law stipulates that collation ought to take place at each local govt but the Inec rec demanded that they all be brought to him. The results were a combination of things, vote buying, rugging, collation manipulation, party strongholds etc but by my perspectives the negatives influenced the outcome greatly. |
deji17:I can't speak of all local govt what I know is that some inec adhoc staff where selected specifically, Inec collation officers were paid 100k each to alter result, I have a former neighbour who worked for Inec at ovia local govt, Apc paid that much to alter result at the collaction point, this is a first hand info, I have an ex classmate in auchi who also gave me update Apc buying vote 10k each. I can't speak of every polling unit, as far as who is more popular the apc has its notable politicians like oshiomhole and others but the election wasn't about party Asue was the popular choice for me as far as Benin metropolis is concerned, in social gathering it was Asue everyone was talking about, I know some Apc party members who even dey hail Asue's charisma and achievement. Look it was rigged, but how large was the rigging I can't tell. |
deji17:there were rigging oh, there where polling units where votes where more than the accredited voters on bvas, even in ovia lg collation officers where paid 100k to doctor results, look I am not a member of any party but massive rigging took place, if you aren't in Benin you would doubt it. |
