The air base improvements is key to facilitating the operation and maintenance of the A-29 Super Tucano wing, and associated munitions stationed there. The base improvements were delivered as part of a larger, historic $500 million U.S. foreign military sale to Nigeria.
As the A-29ST programme winds up, yesterday event provided the opportunity to wing 6 pilots who constitute the last batch of a total of 24 pilots trained within the package.

As part of the ongoing clearance operation in Sambisa Forest, the 21-Armored Brigade and 199 Special Forces Battalion of the Nigerian Army, operating under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have successfully eliminated 35 Boko Haram terrorists.
Additionally, the army was able to capture a commander alive and destroy 13 of the terrorists' camps.
