what part of the Homburg hat he is wearing is african? please educate me. The hats Obasanjo and yar adua used to wear, now those are african hats and fitting. you were those anywhere and everybody knows you are from africa. this hat your current president wears has nothing african about it. if anything, it is a throw back to africa's colonial past and a reminder of a time gone by when african's were european slaves. how is a wool homburg hat or top hat, whatever you choose to call it, african? |
nigeria is just not ready for nuclear power. the world would be very uneasy allowing nigeria nuclear options. who is going to sell nuclear rods to nigeria? have they thought about this? a more realistic proposition is that nigeria invests heavily in Ghana's nuclear power project. It was announced this week that Ghana is on course for nuclear power generation by 2018. We are expecting IAEA experts in the country this month to finalize discussions for a location. ghana has experience handling nuclear power. Ghana has had a functioning nuclear reactor since the 60s. For research purposes but still, that is invaluable experience. now a country like ghana will certainly not have a need for all that power by 2018. it's not very cost-effective for us so we hope to export heavily to the countries in the region. this project is extremely expensive. nigeria could come in an invest heavily, and be part of the process from scratch. the plant in ghana will serve nigeria's energy purposes for the next few decades or so. while nigeria learns from experience to build their own plant in the near future. the world will be less edgy. or do you plan to re-invent the wheel like iran are trying to do and develop your own know-how from scratch. that is a waste of time. africa should be researching solar power. not nuclear. on a lighter note. why does the nigerian president wear that ridiculous looking hat around everywhere. it's embarrasing. it looks comical. fine, the attire is african so he can wear it with pride to show his african-ness but why top it up with that ridiculous looking oliver twist hat. i bet world leaders laugh behind his back all the time. you can tell in that picture obama is struggling to take the man seriously |
buzugee:Don't blame the white man. Blame yourself. You are just a weak minded fool. Many are those who have worked their way to the very top of western society and yet never lost themselves. Right from my university days to early professional life to business, i've always found myself in very unfamiliar environments. When i was hired as a junior analyst for Deloitte after uni, there was no other black person in the group. A few other colored people (indians and asians). The higher i rose, the less of even these other colored people i saw. And yet i never lost myself. Hang your head in shame. You are a weak man. |
Seun:maybe so. in which case you are free to look elsewhere to invest your 299K. That is the message of the Ghana government. It's quite simple. They must have analyzed their situation before declaring this law. If it's a kamikaze law, what does nigeria care? Leave Ghana to make her own mistake no? |
Ibime:Refreshingly sound logic. All is not lost on nairaland afterall. This is the end of dicussion right here. It's quite simple really. A sovereign country has looked at it's situation and made a law that it feels is in it's best interest. If the government of nigeria feels this Ghana law is in breach of any bilateral or multilateral treaty to which both countries are party, they should send the matter to international arbitration. That is what those institutions are there for. Other than that, just stfu. You don't go to someone's party and tell them what food to serve. |
sparkle:You will be making a grave mistake if you based your opinion of Ghana and it's people, business environment etc, on anything Gbawe has to say. One man's opinion cannot overrule that of a million others they say. Thus the opinion of half a man (as is the case here) can definitely not overrule that of the majority of the world. |
Again, all your responses here point to a glaring character flaw in majority of Nigerians : Delusions of Grandeur. Not to be confused with patriotism. I could spend time to pick apart the nonsense claims of so called nigerian dominance of the ghanaian economy but i won't waste my time. Mainly because i've done it several times on different threads on this very same topic. Most of these arguments from the likes of Gbawe and co point to the character flaw i have mentioned above. You see one nigerian originated junk food franchise in ghana and you draw the conclusion that the industry is nigerian dominated. Without actually knowing the nationality of the person who owns that particular franchise. It all sounds quite stupid actually if you take the time to analyze these claims. "we should pull out all our investments and see if they won't come begging" Listen dumbos, magnanimity is not a trait found in businessmen. No nigerian comes to invest in ghana as a favor to the ghanaian people. |
How many times will this same topic be recycled to the homepage of nairaland? And as usual, Gbawe is prominent here masquerading as a reasonable person when in fact he's little more than a bitter failure looking to blame others for his own ineptitude. For anyone entertaining thoughts of taking Gbawe seriously, allow me to educate you on the recent history of this fella. Here is a man who couldn't hack it in one of the melting pots of the world (London) and so figured he would carry himself and his family to Ghana to try their luck. He thought he could waltz in and be an instant big player. Do what he wants. Unbeknown to him, Ghana is not a place where mediocrity is celebrated (unlike a certain place that shall remain nameless.) He quickly found this out though, in a painful way too, it seems. And since then he has been on a personal vendetta mission to paint Ghanaians evil (against global consensus) to make himself feel better. Give it up bro. Get some therapy. Move on. |
Liedetect:i think you'll find it's you who inserted an incomplete quote. scroll up and see what i wrote. even if i omitted a letter, that's clearly a typo. you either didn't know how to spell the word "terse" or were using a different word. this is all getting rather juvenile. you're embarrassing yourself at this point. |
Liedetect: Liedetect:i take it you mean terse? i'm flattered. or is 'tess' some bush lingo you street kids are using these days. |
Liedetect:nope. i did it by exposing your motivation for drawing up theories like that. thereby rendering it invalid. scroll up and read. in any case, the general disinterest in a statement that should otherwise have triggered a massive debate/discussion says it all. There is such a thing as deafening silence. Shut up long enough and you might hear it. |
Liedetect:theories with any sort of merit, however small, get debunked. nonsense theories get thrown out. bamboozled. which is what has happened to yours. update yourself. |
agabaI23:wrong. he referred to "nigerians scattered across the world looking for crumps" as rats. how much do you wanna bet that he doesn't include himself in this category? charity begins at home is all i'm saying |
Liedetect:waiting for you to log off? lol, pure delusion well pea brain just put paid to your nonsense theory of nigerian jew parallelism. what does that make you? |
Liedetect:i wasn't implying any camaraderie between you and i when i said "we" Don't flatter yourself. my point is the jury is still out on whether nigerians are being persecuted, as you seem to want to imply. That is a stupid conclusion you drew in the first place. i find your attempts to bully others into submitting to your contrived, far-fetched, idiotic, opinions rather comical. It seems to be a trend with you. Your violent reaction towards differing opinions says it all about you. I should actually be pressing the iggy button on you now but i feel it a divine duty to put you in your place. |
hackney:you feel confident enough to call another group of people (how many of them have you met?) RATS? in a thread that is talking about unfair treatment of nigerians for the sins of the bad few? like really? examine yourself my brother. |
Liedetect:much ado about nothing. quintessential hallmark of a simple mind. do you ever not over-emphasize your opinions? nigerians might be persecuted a little. justified or not, we're yet to agree on. your analogy is needlessly over-the-top and moronic. classic strawman's fallacy. |
there is nothing wrong in admitting another person, or another group of people are better looking than you or your group of people. once i went to one of these carib countries and within days of getting there i said to myself, boy i'll have to spend a lot of money to get laid in this country cus my looks alone aint gonna cut it.lol. their men i was seeing around me were, no homo, good looking guys. almost all built like gods. walking around the beaches shirtless all the time. and i couldn't even see a gym in sight. meaning they were born that way or something. sometimes you just gotta be honest with urself. take english people for instance, they know they're not the best looking people on the planet. english girls are not offended by that. when was the last time you saw a knockout british girl? |
liedetect where do you get the idea nigerian women are shapeless? abeg speak for yourself. i've met countless well shaped nigerian women. you and that amaka are motivated by pure jealousy in your contributions to this thread. it's ok if you're not fyne. just allow us to drool in peace. i'm sure there are men out for the likes of you. |
THE AMAKA:bytch get the fark off my dyck. can't get enough? laughed at by who? on which page? you're farking hilarious. |
this discussion is still going on? lemme update myself then. |
texazzpete:like i said, my nuanced points (in line with my generally low key nature) may have been lost of weaker minds. Let me break it down for you in simpler terms. I feel benevolent today. He argued that the miss ghana was mixed hence her good looks. i predicted self hate. which he denied by saying he believes she's mixed because traits like hers are not found in west africa (the same traits that make her beautiful that is). therefore implying that west africans are not beautiful. is that succinct enough for you? you're welcome. |
THE AMAKA:weak. let's pretend i didn't see that. come again. |
texazzpete:i think you'll find i provided ample evidence to back my assertion of self hate. although the rather nuanced nature of my points may have been lost on the weaker minds among us. so i kinda see where you're coming from. |
THE AMAKA:go suck on a dilldo why dont you. that should keep you entertained for a bit no? god forbid you should find pleasure in a sane discussion among educated adults that doesn't resolve around haute couture. pis s off. |
Nayah:where do you get the idea i like fulani-ish features. i like them all babes. the ezewaever is the one who mentioned west african features. i was just giving him examples to refute his idea of a so-called west african features. he was arguing no west african girl can have looks like this miss ghana. i was trying to say he was wrong. so we're infact saying the same thing. i still maintain this ghana babe is ashanti. she has an ashanti name. although in ghana, intermarriage between the tribes is ubiquitous. |
THE AMAKA:you should fark off then shouldn't ya |
EzeUche22:it is not expressing your opinion that's the problem. it is foolishly expressing an opinion with such vigor when you have no tangible reason to back it up is what is worrisome. |
mama-gee:aah. the oft-repeated cry of an ugly babe. listen lurv, this is a beauty contest, not a debate competition. you don't contest for mr. universe and claim you don't have muscles but you're smart. allow us to drool in peace. |
Uche, tell me this. was the agbani babe mixed too? your answer to this question will determine whether you should be taken even remotely seriously or cast to oblivion. and internet oblivion is the worst there is cus even 5 year old kids are sometimes taken seriously on the internet. btw, in case you're too dumb to realise, that question is a trick question cus you loose however you answer it. so i'd keep quiet now if i were you. |
Nayah:don't mind that one. he is not well exposed. just travel to chad or mali or burkina faso, or north ghana, and be amazed by the types of girls you see. speaking of which, you have quite a lovely smile yourself. i looked at your pic cus someone mentioned it; no perv ![]() |
Uche you seem so sure she is mixed. but you haven't articulate any reasonable reason why. maybe girls from your village are not fine but dont think for one minute that applies to the whole west africa. have you been to liberia before? well i have been to the north of ghana and take it from me, this miss ghana girl is a dime a dozen there. and if you're talking about light skinned, aren't ewe girls from the east of ghana notoriously light skinned? |
. well i think it is time for me to go look for me again. the real me before this whole westernized crap. thats why i need to retire to africa.
but I wouldn't present myself in a beauty pageant even with this smile lol
