before i saw this thread, if i was the guy in question, i wouldn't even have felt the need to offer any explanation. i wouldn't have thought it's such a big deal but judging by the responses here, i'm wrong. maybe its a naija no-no. Anyhow, what i would absolutely advice against is leaving your city to travel what sounds like a long journey to go and meet a guy you've never met! So you're going to be staying with him at his place i assume? Absolutely not girl. Relationships that lead to marriage do not start like that. there are exceptions but in general that guy should be the one making the trip this first time. then you can go there the next time |
ofcourse the uk women cant find any good men cus europe is one big fagfest. lol come across the pond and get acquainted with real men. see the truth is subconciously it's hard for a true bred african woman to take a man that wears leggins to work seriously. hence they fall for those who dress the way real men(like those of us here) should dress. unfortunately, in the UK, these happen to be the what do you call them? yobs? |
This T.B Joshua has finally been found out. The ridiculousness of his claims and his dogged attempts to divert attention from the nice achievements of our players onto himself has really infuriated a lot of ghanaians. I was listening to ghanaian radio today and not one caller was in support of him. This might be his last straw in Ghana. Have you seen that video he posted on youtube? what is his motives at all? Does he record all conversations he has on video? He seems determined to take credit for the victory. It's soo farking annoying. The Captain of the side, Ayew, whom Joshua claims to have been talking to in the video says he doesn't know Joshua from anywhere and certainly never spoke to him. Infact he's a moslem. As are about half the squad and coaching staff. What is this Joshua's play at all? I blame our docile president who has allowed himself to be deceived by Joshua because apparently Joshua predicted his elections victory. Total wuss that president. i'll be amazed if he's re-elected in 2012. I used to like the guy but he's clearly not a leader. SOme men are just not leaders. |
"dear boyzone?" hahahaha, you almost had me going for a while. Until i got to that part. lol. your wife calls you boyzone? hahahaha this is a complete fabrication. nice storytelling skills though. |
Guys what if a female tells you you have a cute d,,k will you be happy?Absolutely Not. It means she's seen too many (which is in itself not a problem but why does she remember them? lol). If he doesn't think it immediately, he'll think it later trust me. and i dont know where you got this article from but i dont think guys in general value compliments that much. Maybe because we spend our whole lives dishing out bogus compliments to you ladies so when we hear one we can't help but doubt it's authenticity.lol and the "nice arms" thing is so cliche. you're gonna tell your husband who hasn't been to the gym in decades nice arms? lol and nice feet? i mean feet? i can't think of any guy i know who cares too much about his feet. |
a Ghanaian dumped Ikeyman, quite obviously.male lover. and liedetect is the different username of someone else on this thread. It's not too difficult to figure out who. bunch of retards. hahaha, what loosers. step ur game up boys. otherwise you're reduced to bitching about other ppls lives on the internet like you're doing now. |
i've been watching the second half, and i have to say, In moments like this, you can't only blame the coach. Watching the game you'd be forgiven for thinking the Mozambiquans are the ones fighting for a world cup place. are these players farking kidding me? i mean how? there is zero urgency in their until just about 5 minutes ago. Don't blame the coach this time. Put the blame squarely at the feet of the players. |
This Gbawe guy are you OK? What is really your mission? Why are you so hell bent on painting a scenario that doesn't exist. Help us understand, did your business get closed down or something? are you related to someone who's business got closed down? i really can't understand. I remember the same thing happened on the thread about Ghana supplying Nigeria power. You turned it into something else with your rantings. You attack anybody who dares not tow your line. You obviously just hate Ghana. The question is why? You wrote: You do not need to bore us to death saying the same things , in different ways , over and over againexcellent advice. i suggest you apply it yourself. What evidence do you have to show that the enforcement of this policy was targeted at Nigerians only. Besides wishy-washy internet articles from god knows where. Anybody can sit in their basement and post an article on the internet. Good ppl of naija who don't have any personal vendetta to settle can see this topic for what it is. A country trying to protect its own. Simple as that. No matter how you try to twist it and twist it your audience is not buying it. My dear Naija ppls. Ignore Gbawe and his rantings. He doesn't know what he's talking about. |
Hi, Shesi the Ashanti,Buddy i joined this thread at page 6 or so. Go back and check. I only noticed it because it was on the homepage which, which is generally the only threads i comment on. maybe you should ask the admins why any topic containing ghana makes it to the homepage. This particular subject has made it to the homepage at least 3 other times. and which ppl have laid claims to being the next best thing in Africa? where did you hear any ghanaian making that claim? chale please. i'm getting sick of all this. |
My friend give it a rest. First you say I have never been to Ghana and insinuate I am led by ignorance . Then I give you a few example , the most tame out of numerous , and you move the goal post to infer that a few example means nothing same as the caucasian who is not subject to racism will dismiss the real fear of those who are the targets of racism. I have seen things change for the worse in the past few years. I am going to stop talking to you because of how you think , because you are Ghanaian , you know Ghana to the extent that those who are not indigenes cannot fathom , more than you, what you can never experience i.e discrimination against Nigerians. I arrived in Ghana many years ago with no bias same as how many of us arrived in the diaspora with near total ignorance of racism. It would then seem a bit dismissive for a causcasian person to accuse me of exagerating about racism when I did not know what racism was in the first place until I experienced it from one of his kind !!! I am not one to quickly shout discrimination either.i'm getting tired of this. You wont get me to admit there is any impending danger for nigerians in ghana because there is not. and you are wrong. The relationship is not neutral but there is no rise in anti nigerian feeling in ghana. There is no bursting-at-the-seams Ghana hate for nigeria. There is no hidden agenda to drive nigerians out of ghana. it's all just plain false. You are the one starting to sound like you have something against Ghanaians. You are hell bent in your belief and refuse to even consider any of the explanations i'm putting forward. Lets just agree to disagree why dont we. |
Gbawe, your writeup about your experiences in Ghana only go to confirm my earlier assertion. That you were on some sort of personal vendetta. Basically, you've witnessed a few incidents of anti nigerian sentiments which you seem to think is widespread in Ghana and are hell bent shouting the message that "these Ghanaians hate us" Well, you're wrong. No matter how much you think you know Ghana, you can't claim to know Ghana better than me. Let me point out to you that sentiments like you have said you heard have always been existent in Ghana. So your alarmist conclusions that these sentiments are on the rise and that if not checked will lead to trouble is just false. Now here's where i think you really have a complex that needs addressing: Those statements you interprete as nigeria-hate are actually nothing more than mere jesting. Take this from me. I'm a ghanaian. I know the culture far better than you, so i know how to interprete thing we say. It may not be immediately apparent to you. Apart from that landlord episode (which indeed reflects a distrust of nigerians, not necessarily exclusive to ghana, and not necessarily new either), all those other statements you describe do not constitute nigeria-hate. If you've travelled a bit, then you understand what i'm saying. It's easy to misunderstand the connotation behind statements when you're dealing with another culture. It's an easy mistake to make. For example, if you're a nigerian going through your everyday routine in say Accra, you will likely hear, at least twice, the phrase, "saa alata fo wei paa", which translates to "these nigerians ehn". You might be tempted to think this was nigerian-hate speech. Certainly if you already believe in your mind that Ghanaians hate nigerians, then the above statement would really set your alarms off. But you'd be mistaken. It's nothing at all. If you think someone's watching you, looking around you, you will find more reason to believe that someone is watching you. When infact it's all in your head. My point to you is, there is no more "anti-nigerian sentiment" in Ghana now than there was 30 years ago. It is not on the rise. It's always been there. It's completely harmless And nothing is going to happen. I put "anti-nigerian sentiments" in parenthesis because i'm only using it for lack of a better phrase. The situation is more one of over-competitiveness than anything. If you take this view, you will be able to understand a lot of the sayings and doings concerning nigeria in Ghana. THat is why it seems Ghanaians are happy at the misfortune of nigerians, why it seems Ghanaians are eager to rub their achievements in the face of nigerians, and why they will speak negatively of all nigeria-isms like spraying money and the like. It'd be easy to interprete that at hate. BUT ITS NOT. It's like the kind of comments you often hear Canadians making about Americans. If you didn't know better you'd think the Canadians hated Americans. But they don't. |
@shesi, now i want to address u personally. am not iyke and we are not the same person. that havent been settled, let me get down to the business at hand. i want to find out who u really are and where u come from. are u a ghanian or a nigerian,or do you live on this forum, is shesi, martass and the rest of the clown community the same and one person or do u pple monitor NL on a 24hours basis? do all of the folks who claims to be ghanians live in the same room,or a are u really ghanians who wish that u were nigerians? i ask all these cos each time there is a topic about nigeria and ghana,u pple are the first to post here. i dont have any other identity. as for the post, there was some terrible mistakes and mixups,bt my warnings to u still stands. i saw a post by otapiapia and u saying that u were tracking iyke and all that stuff, what can i say,all that is horseshit. as for the said grammatical errors or flaws, need i remind u that this is an informal meeting place and pple can use whatever form of english that they want. btw, will u be good enough to go back and check your own grammar. i will be in ghana God willing b4 this month runs out. if u are in ghana, let me have your contact add,bt if u dont reside in "peaceful ghana" tell me where on earth u reside and i will let u know when i ill roll into your town and we can see face 2 face. stop fooling urself, cos apart from hiding behind a computer consul and running your mouth ,u are a no body and i will prove that to u if u will let me see u in person.am a nigerian, and am proud to be one any day any time.hahahaha, are you challenging me to a fistfight? You sound like a complete idiot. Can you hear yourself? Where did you read that i was tracking ikeyman? who the hell is otapiapia? lol, like seriously, are you mad? just go and lie down somewhere. this is a discussion for grown ups. |
what do you guys think about Ghana's Captain? Abedi Pele's son, Dede Ayew. Any good? He's a big hit with the ladies in Ghana i hear. Any mention of his name and even old women are screaming. lol. Personally i think his development has slowed. for someone who was playing champions league football at 18, i would've expected him to the one of the big names in europe. i haven't had the opportunity to watch any of the matches yet though. |
Mikel the new Okocha? is that a joke? how many shots on target does Mikel take. He's only scored one Chelsea goal in 3 years and that was against some 3 division team in the carling cup. It was a scruffy headed goal from a corner kick. that's it. Infact, If Mikel were to be playing for a midtable team, which is where his ability suggests he should play, no one will be asking this question ever. |
not to worry tpia. ikeyman is definately not smart enough to be an IT anything. well, except an IT nuissance. track? lol, puhleese, he can't keep track of his own multiple IDs. like we can't tell it's him from the bad grammar anyways. |
What would you call her? 'Old African woman'?no. i'd call her a milf. like i said. how old is she anyway. it's just she's been around for so long, i'm wondering. |
u know that each time u come aboard, u bring with u a big full of winds.some lunatic asked why nigerians are coming to ghana and concluded that it is because ghana is peaceful. then i asked why we still have ghanians living in other parts of the world and some still living in nigeria. speaking of age,urs clearly have shown hen u choose to aske me what i smoke. so much for your maturity,bt i wont join u in your liitle brain, cos it will make the 2 of us look the same. i will let that insult pass,bt dont take it for granted, cos the next time u cross that line again, maybe i wont let it slip by.be warned. the last time i had anything to do with u was when u were accusing falsely of saying that i hate ghanian names. u are getting too close for my comfort.Hahahahahaha So you and Ikeyman are one in the same person. ahahahaaha, i didn't even suspect it but now i can see the similarities. i copied that post from an ikeyman response. thanks for the revelation. |
did she say 'young african woman'? dont kill me oo. but i think she's in the milf category now. |
and since ghana is in order; how come a lot of them wana live; mind u alo are still in ghadaffi custodyyou are really a big argument against the theory that age brings wisdom. cus it's been one year or so since i've seen you here on NL and your posts are consistently nonsense. what is it you're smoking in that UK? |
If you want to be more pragmaticPray tell, what is the so-called reasoning behind the move that you think you know? If the nigerian government thinks that foreign workers from say China are flooding their construction jobs and ordinary nigerian laborers can no longer get access to contruction jobs, what is wrong with your option number 1 above? Don't other countries do it all the time? Check out the immigration requirements of most western countries and see whether they don't attempt to protect their citizens? Basically you want to encourage what you don't already have, or what you have a shortage in. NOT what you have in excess. So please tell me, What is soooo diabolical about Ghana government wanting to limit investment to areas where they have a shortage? "I'm selling" and "i'm not buying" who's older? |
Gbawe, seriously have you even been to Ghana before? You make it sound like there is an impending genocide against Nigerians in Ghana or something. It's ridiculous. Ask the thousands of Nigerian students in Ghanaian universities if they live under any danger there? you're starting to sound like you're on a personal vendetta mission or something.Everytime Ghana comes up, you take centrestage and broaden the discussion to all sorts of issues. Look, this is not the first time this issue has been raised here on NL. the LUNATIC ikeyman has posted at least 3 threads on this issue in the past. this is the first time though i'm seeing the ecowas spin put on it. like seriously, ecowas? i can't say this loudly enough. TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR OWN GOVERNMENT'S ACTIONS, before you accuse another of underhand tactics. Ecowas Ecowas. It's even funny you guys are now mentioning ecowas at every turn. Which ecowas? You accuse me and other ghanaians of turning a blind eye to our governnment's wrongdoings because it involves nigeria. Wrong again. I'm telling you that i just dont see anything wrong with the action. And i've reiterated my reasons clearly in previous posts. We didn't elect our government to look out for nigerian interests. Or the interest of any other country for that matter. @rethink ; Ghanaians have xenophobic tendencies? and nigerians don't? take a look at your own society before you point fingers at another. |
OP is generally right. but sometimes you can see where girls are coming from in not wanting to seem cheap or whatever. So me i don't mind massaging their ego a little bit, but i can only go so far. You girls dont wanna seem cheap. Us guys also dont want to seem pathetic and desperate and optionless. So everyone should know when to quit playing games! |
This is a good point that would be valid if it does not ignore the fact that in an economic regional bloc like ECOWAS ( you can consult the rulebook of ECOWAS if you want) member nations must attempt to make it easier, not more difficult, for other member nations to do business within its terrain !!! What is the point of ECOWAS if Ghana will treat businessmen from its fellow member nation worse than it would treat businessmen from Lebanon? The UK may have no problem blocking the entrance of Nigerian goods into its market but it will not practice such barefaced protectionism against Germany because , as members of the same economic regional bloc, the UK knows it will quickly be called to order for such a flagrant disregard of EU rules.Look, lets be honest, Nigerians are only crying ecowas ecowas cus it suits their purposes in this discussion. If the tables were turned,, you can bet the overwhelming consensus will be 'which ecowas?' We in Ghana are not going to put our economy and social systems under unnecessary strain because of an organization like ecowas. what is ecowas? what has ghana benefitted from ecowas. When i questioned the suitability of ecowas earlier, i wasn't questioning the wisdom in forming trade blocs, I was questioning the practicability of Ecowas specifically. Despite it's name, Ecowas was never really meant to serve an economic purpose. Ecowas' chief purpose was peace-keeping, and to facilitate movement of West African citizens escaping War in their own countries. GHana has benefitted nowt from ecowas. All we do is send our soldiers to die in peace keeping missions. That is what ecowas means to the ordinary ghanaian on the street when they hear the world. The francophones do their own thing. Nigeria only plays by the rules when it suits her, and Liberia and Sierra Leone only contribute refugees (not so much lately). Why should we be bound by this organization. Ecowas serves no purpose ordinary bilateral agreements couldn't accomplish. It's time to get back to the drawing table if we want economic integration. You can't compare Ecowas to the EU. Just can't. It makes every sense to set minimum standards for foreigners hoping to do business in your country. Why don't the western countries allow anybody who wants to move into their countries? Free movement of people is part of the Universal declaration of Human rights. So why do we still need visas then? When you are dealing with a country whose population outnumber yours by 500%, you don't open your borders freely. Especially when it's a country whose systems are currently not working and majority of its population may be looking for a way out if not now in the near future. Check America (the flag-bearer of free trade)'s foreign policy when it comes to China. |
Gbawe, even if (and that's a big if) Ibn Chambas said that, Is Ibn Chambass the repository of all wisdom in this matter? Ibn Chambass can have his say, and so can Kofi Annan, Soyinka, et al. But no one is infallibe. Like it or not, It's a buyer's market. You don't develop an economy by opening it up to all and sundry. It's never been done. The chief proponents of this ideology on the global level didn't build their economies that way. My challenge to you remains, Compare the two countries' trade policies and lets see who is more protectionist. I think you know the answer. What is ecowas anyway? it's a ghost institution living on borrowed time. It has no future. The world is markedly different now from what it was when ecowas was conceived. And Ghana is perfectly right to be looking forward. |
i am overwhelmed by the enormity of nonsense on this thread. i don't even know where to start. |
Hahaha, YEt another Ghana bashing tread on nairaland. It seems nothing galvanizes nigerians together as much these days as their hate for Ghana. We're glad to be of service. YOu Nigerians know how to talk. Just empty talk. First of all, this publication is arrant nonsense. How in the hell do you see this as a move to kick out nigerians? are you friggin kidding me? get over yourselves already!!! you make everything about you. Do those of you senselessly ranting on here know what the criteria is for a foreigner to set up shop in your own country?? Check that first before you starting writing nonsense. Pan African this Pan African that. Now Nigerian knows about PanAfricanism? I've said this countless times. How is it that the only country in West Africa with a history of State sponsored, widely-backed-by-the-populace Xenophobia now turns around to accuse other countries of xenophobia at every opportunity. What is protectionist about insisting that only those who are capable to doing credible business be allowed to do business in your country? Every forward thinking country does it. Maybe the structures don't work in your own country so you don't appreciate some of these things but it's nothing new. Everybody has a minimum standard in place. If the US allowed every Chinese man with 1000 dollars to immigrate into their country to start a business, before you know it, their ecomony will be over-run by CHinese and all the money will move in the direction of CHina. Should we allow our own population to be impoverished because we love love love our neighbours who incidentally once kicked out our pregnant women and children from their country when there was a famine in ours? Basically, you're all allowing sentiments (ill sentiments against Ghana) to inform your opinions of this move. Which btw is not accurately depicted in that article you quoted. Put the Ghana hate aside and think for a moment what your own government would have done, or should do, if say the Chinese start flooding your country. If Nigeria wants a trade war, let's go. At the present, which of the two countries in question prevents the other from exporting certain stuff into their country? Answer: NIGERIA. And yet, all of you are here shouting protectionism protectionism. Are u ffing kiddin me? WHen Nigeria was flying high in the 80s, none of you gave a Bleep a ss abt ghana, now all we here is Ghana liberia nigeria, SL, are the only english speaking countries bla bla bla Gbawe, talk is cheap. What you need is a history lesson. Before you attempt to castigate Ghana for so-called illegal moves perfected by Nigeria in the 80s and 90s and in some cases even till today. Cue textile industry. Ghana's market is flooded with textiles (often inferior) from China and Nigeria, Yet our own textile producers could not export to Nigeria, guess why? your government banned it. I've come to expect a little more from you Gbawe. But it seems no nigerian is beyond, hindsighless,over-emotionally-charged, sensationalist, downright wrong, comments when it comes to Ghana. Even your ministers. Check out conditions in your own marketplace before you accuse someone else of protectionism. We are doing what we think is right for ourselves. You feed yourself before you help someone weed their farm. On an airplane, they advice to put your own oxygen mask on first before attempting to help another person. Even mothers!! i'm still reading through this myriad of rubbish. |
if you and the other church pay more 'offerings' maybe he wouldn't have to resort to this no? lol |
the topic is not ghana women here. naija women give it up more. here you have your own naija women proclaiming the men are the worst cheats in the world. are they cheating with other men? |
pardon my ignorance but is Globalcom and Glo the same? i'm assuming yes. If that is the case, then they may have already completed the bulk of their recruitment cus i have a bunch of friends in Ghana who have been recruited by Glo and are undergoing training in Nigeria at the moment. They've been there since september or so. so i think they've done the bulk of their starting level recruitments at least for this year. I'm just guessing though, i dont know for fact. |
faithfulness is not demanded. it is inspired. if nigerian men are being unfaithful, it is because nigerian women don't inspire faithfulness. check yourselves. |
Was dis rili necessaryi dont see why not. it's a conditional statement. not a definate one. and its true. |
i understand you are saving for a toyota yaris. no wonder. guys like you drive toyota yaris. ma guy just read through you post again and answer it for yourself. some guys sef. why should a girl have the nerve to ask you for money for her hair (even if you're in a relationship with her) much less when she's dating someone else. what does she take you for. that girl must have seen you coming from afar. |
