Be objective here man. He has played under 5 different coaches in chelsea and is still in the team because of luck? You even said he got lucky at the U-20.that's because chelsea only need him to hassle opposition players. not to play in any creative capacity.he is not chelsea quality at all. have you ever seen him shoot the ball towards goal? for god's sake he is one of the tallest chelsea players and i have never seen him win a corner. defense or offense. that whole razzle dazzle that landed him at Chelsea via ManU was from his performance at that U20 world cup. where he was playing kids 5 years younger than him. That was his lucky break and he is still riding that wave. The promise of perhaps something more to come from him. When infact nothing is going to come. He just shone because he was a grown man playing amongs kids. and btw, i don't need you to honor me. Our U21 boys have done that plenty today. |
Ma critique of Mikel is about the pace of his game. . . he dictates the style of Naijas play, which is why we often fall into this lackadaiscal trap of playing football like God will come down and score a goal for us eventually. . . .Mikels slowness is not a function of his speed, but the speed of his passing. . . Kanu is slow as well, but he ensures the transition between midfield and attack is fast with quick incisive passes. . . on the other hand, it is too easy for opponents to read Nigerias game when Mikel is our playmaker. . . Mikel can only be employed in a deeper position alongside Kaita. . . nothing else.i completely agree with your assesement of mikel. and this coming from a chelsea fan. to be honest, that guy is very very lucky to be playing professional football. players like him are a dime a dozen in most african countries. certainly in ghana. he got lucky in that u20 world cup and he's been riding that luck ever since. |
au contre! quite the opposite actually. have you seen the team WE put out? you can't live this one down so easy my friend. lol, just take the pain. it's a growing process. lol |
@Shesi, this is nairaland not ghanaland so you don't have a say in the matter that affect us.lol. this is the internet. everybody has a say in everything. lol. for what it's worth i hope nigeria sorts themselves up quick. this rivalry is looking less and less like a rivalry because the nigerians are not bringin it!! |
look football is a funny game. It's not that our kids can't play ball. THEY CAN. we played our best football against Ivory Coast and still lost 3-1. Our team quickly realised they weren't gonna get far tryna to show off their skills. Naivety quickly changed to rock solid grit. and this, my friends, is the reward for smart thinking. a place in the finals. and who would bet against us winning? go ahead. We have beaten 3 "better"(on paper) teams that us. what's to stop us beating a 4th? |
@shesi, we hear u, fanx 4 the sermon.no probs bud. i always help out the weak in society. lol |
how can you guys be calling us poo when we just beat you? nevermind the tactics, the end justifies the means. We BEAT u. and with kids too!!! abeg don't compare your shiite team with our young bloods o. Not only is this team B. there are also inexperience green U21s. I mean, to think a central defence patnership of Vorsah and Mensah (1 nobody and I kid) could shut out Yakubu and Martins. Two of africa's finest strikers we are told. If you think this is the team we're sending to the world cup you're dreaming. The only survivors from this team in our WC 11 would be the keeeper and Gyan. Years of age cheating has finally caught up with Nigeria. How many of these your players will be around in 4 years? when you have talented young kids at home begging for a chance. where is that your chrisantus boy? I knew it was gonna be a good day for us when i saw Mikel taking free-kicks. lol, i mean Mikel?? |
what an awesome sight for chelsea fans. mikel hoping off injured. ![]() |
hahahahaha. mikel taking free kick. hahahahahaha mikel that has never had a shot on target in 5 years at Chelsea. hahahahahahah |
GHana are the most ugliest people. Godask your women who they think is nicer. and take a good at your players. which of them is fine? apart from the russian b as tard. |
your old men are getting tired. watchout! 2 more to come. these our U20 boys are experts at defending. THey held out against an all out brazil attack for 90 minutes. |
lol. what did i tell you guys. 1 down. 2 more to go. |
nigeria's effective 45 minutes is coming to an end already. your old men are already showing signs of tiredness. lol. our coach is clearly very smart. we are just waiting until your old pass out. |
two years ago we beat you with 10 men. today we'll demolish you with Team B. U20s. make una no dey eat pepper soup during the match o. you might choke to death. lol |
Cotedevoire. . . . .perennial underachievers of African football. I recall they had a golden generation in '94 with players like Joel Tiehi, Michele Bassole, Alan Gouamane & co and were heavily tipped by pundits and bookmakers to lift the cup but they fell short even then. . . . . . .and now the same thing has happened to this set of golden boys at their peak. . . . . I pity them cos this competition was theirs for the taken but since they've blown it, they wont win it in the next 10yrs.not so fast. CIV won it in 92. they beat us(ghana) in the finals by penalty kicks. that their squad was thought to be going on to dominate africa. that didn't happen. But make no mistake, that team they had was superb. among the best african teams ever assembled. Along with, Ghana of 82, Nigeria of 94, Cameroon of the early 2000s, and Egypt in the late 2000s. The title of perennial underachievers in African football should be split between Mali and Senegal. Back to thursday. Ghana U20s will be teaching flightless eagles of nigeria a lesson in refined football. |
Well football is so funny and you'd be surprised to see Egypt being knocked out by Algeria in the semis, if not, then by God's grace, we go dey final dey wait for them.if i may ask my dear friend, how do you intend to get to the finals? ghana U-20s will be teaching the flightless eagles of nigerian a bitter lesson in football come that game. you've been warned. don't eat pepper soup that day, it will be very unpleasant lol. |
The Ghanaian team is only going to end their journey at the semis, nothing else, Angola is not a fantastic team, they are going to play us next (if we beat Zambia)So who will be ending our journey for us in the Semis then? Nigeria? lol, don't make me laugh. |
not pretty but it'll do. this ghana team B is impressing me o. infact i hope the coach take many of these kids to south africa. they have spirit. well done my boys. now bring on cameroon. i hope we get cameroon next. |
Am telling you, not only has this northern muslim made things difficult for nigerians in particular . . . he seems to have succeeded in making things difficult for Blacks worldwide . . .(since its not straightforward to know who is Nigerian without first checking the passport),my guy this is not a black issue. Making things difficult for Nigerians, yes. But not all blacks. that's ridiculous. |
maybe it's one of those nuts on here yesterday screaming conspiracy. |
just read this news on BBC. wtf is going on? nigerians why? |
first images of the guy from the plane. can't make out his face but he doesn't look like the picture posted. |
Trust you to appear on this thread to display your predictable and hypocritical myopia driven by a hatred of Nigeria and a need to constantly blacken Nigerians !!! Have you forgotten that a Ghanaian was involved in a suicide bombing plot in the UK ? It never fails to amaze me how repellent Ghanaians like yourself scour the net looking for bad news about Nigeria to jubilate over . Sadly for you , many of us are well read enough to know that whatever Nigerians have done others have done it too. Even if they want to pretend they are as white as snow. Nigerians differ to others with how we are not into self-deciet enough to pontificate that others are criminals whil we fool ourselves that we are saints. I hope You will stop coming to this site as you hint. Folks like you contribute nothing other than bias and prejudice.hahahahaha, you're hilarious. sure, blame it on the ghana guy. like i'm the one controlling the reportage on CNN and all the other major news oulets. nicca please!! |
if there is one thing we are all going to suffer from as a result of this incident, it's this; it says on BBC the man was concealing the explosives on his inner upper leg. this means that in the future, we are all going to be frisked more aggresively at airport security checkpoints. lol. i don't want any guy touching my family jewels o. lol. the next time i'll request a female officer frisk me. lol, that's much better. |
Small explosive device is indeed banga buddie and why not mid air on the atlantic ocean why on a desending plane already on US soil , with several rescue agencies to rescue victims if the intent was max killing.OR he decided to detonate it over mainland US so that the falling plane can perhaps do more damage to people on the ground. Who told you emergency services would be able to rescue any victims if a plane blows up in mid air. He wasn't trying to stop the planes engines, he was trying to blow it up!!! seriously chale your conspiracy theory is not making any sense. |
gotta love these CNN maps. they have a huge "LAGOS Nigeria" to Amsterdam to Detroit. lol |
The guy is Nigerian i accept, but we are discussing possible fall out from this incident. Bush use the 9/11 oppoortunity to go to iraq and execute some of the agenda they had before 9/11.no chance of that happening. Pakistan's strategic importance is because they have nuclear weapons and already have a strong taliban presence being so close to afghanistan. |
Smart submission guys. You are getting the picture perfectly. AFRICOM is a major case here! Now this is the deal.why are you harping on about africom? Afriwhat? look if the US wants to get its soldiers on nigerian soil they will. They can base one of their navy vessels just off nigerian waters and that will be as good as being on mainland nigeria. they'll get their planes into nigeria before nigeria can gas up its jets. So stop going on about africom. There is no conspiracy here. The guys is obviously nigerian. |
god CNN really knows how to beat a case to death. they'll discuss the sht out of this all day i tell you. I'll bet they've already dispatched ppl to lagos to capture reaction in nigeria. all jokes aside, this is very bad news for you nigerians o. the cable news media has a way of amplifying every bleeping thing so much. before long they'll be discussing "Is Nigeria the new frontier in the battle against extremism", , and so on , suddenly your absent president crisis is going to come under the microscope intensely. This coming week, every bleeping cable news shows will be on the "threat" from nigeria. |
Please people, for crying out loud, do not take this story at face value!like what? fill us in oh ye great and wise one. |
