I for one if I want to serve the country and the nomination form is in tens of millions and the remuneration isn’t worth it compared to what I earn I will not spend so much money in buying a form that won’t guarantee me being elected. |

Then in another breath they will complain about the price of eggs and chicken. How can you have a successful poultry business without grains and corn being the most widely grown? Why do we always put the cart before the horse? Do you have corn farms? If yes, you can tap into the chicken feed business and make money. |

Namaster: Tinubu needs to release a PREEMPTIVE statement to nip this nonsense in the bud.
The statement should let EVERYBODY know that Kanu is being tried for TREASON and TERRORISM. As such, ANYONE who advocates for him would be treated as a TERRORIST and a TRAITOR to the country.
And that the FULL WEIGHT of the Nigerian Constitution would be visited upon such people and their properties.
That should shut them up for good.
It's DISGUSTING to see these idiots expending energy on pursuing the release of a TERRORIST while their people still bear the burden of his TERRORISM every Monday. What the elders see while sitting, the child even if he climbs an iroko tree, he won't see it. There are some issues that are best dealt with diplomacy. Obj is a man that saw the first civil war and would not want a repeat of such. Boko Haram grew wild because the government failed to handle it well when it started. |

Our President wan buy plane of $100M while owing pensioners for 16 months.
You pay pensioners peanuts that you lots barely use in flexing your girlfriends and still owe them those peanuts.
As a young person finishing from University or any tertiary institution, I’ll advise you not to go into civil service both in federal and state levels if you have options to work in private firms (banks eg). If you see what most pensioners take home as gratuity and pension after 35 years in service you may end up regretting your actions. |

Also note that in the next few years, say a decade from now, they will successfully installed Emir in some major cities of the West and you know what - the Emir must be a Fulani.

"The plane is $600 million but 9ja dey offer a bit above $100 million, it's a good deal"
Nobody is as good in pressing the mumu button of African leaders like white Bankers...A bit of English & they would siphoned millions of dollars to dash them for useless stuff that no sensible white man would buy.
This is a pre-owned plane, Just because it has some golden shyt bowl, nice bed & some tvs doesn't make it worth $600 million, even $50 million is freaking too much!!!!
Cant pay workers a minimum wage of $100 but have $100,000,000 to buy some liability that we already have 7 of already!...Agbdori@ns do not quote me, ain't u ashamed of defending these guys... That plane can’t be worth $600M they put there. It’s an old plane. If they accept $100M, means the plane is worth way less than what they quoted. A brand new A330 Airbus is about $240M. This one is old and just fancied up, not like it has some hi tech stuff like the Air Force one. A preowned Airbus A330 is about $19M. I wonder who Dey advise these out politicians. Can’t they just do a simple research. A so called expert in the write up said if Nigeria buys it they can sell it twice or thrice the cost. The question is who will buy it? |

ElevationD: Abacha was the problem. He could not be trusted to hand over. Abacha decided to contest by transmuting from a military ruler to a civilian President. This was however part of the fear.
The events of June 12, led to national crisis and a serious distrust between the political class and the military. The failure of IBB and the the AFRC to hand over to Abiola, was a disaster. Abacha long nursed the ambition to take over from IBB. Once he became the head of state, a systematic removal of all opposition voices started, using Major Mustapha, to cause all kinds of trouble in the land. Opposition figures were killed in broad daylight while those who could not wait to be killed ran for their dear lives.
Pro democratic forces teamed up to form NADECO and other pressure groups to get Abacha to leave power. Obasanjo was part of those who opposed him and it nearly cost Obasanjo his life in 1996. There was nobody called Wike. One of the voices who could talk about that period was Festus Keyamo, who practiced under tutelage of the respected Gani Fawehinmi. Again there were the likes of Dele Momodu, the late Mr. Kokori, etc.
Our country was in deep political crisis with the dishonesty of the military. Those were dark periods in our country. So it was until Abacha passed on. None of them could trust Abdusalam to hand over. That’s what played out. They thought that he would continue like Abacha, but he proved otherwise. The fear that the military would continue, that they could be killed, made most of them stay far away.
While Abubakar was arranging to hand over, core politicians who saw it, quickly took over. They took over spaces, keeping the then activists away from positions of power.
The question about the then activists is what have they achieved with the positions that they got into? Has the country become better under them? The answer is a big NO.
The country has been deeply divided along religious and ethnic lines, under the watch of the same activists. Deep hatred has become the order of the day. We thought that Tinubu would immediate initiate the process of national reconciliation and healing, but alas, it gets worse daily. They should have taken the offer then. I guess fear and unpreparedness caused them to miss it. I wonder what they feared again after facing Abacha. |

SmartPolician: Don't dare a Nigerian president with guts. A Nigerian president has a lot of power. Tinubu is not Jonathan; Tinubu has a lot of guts. He understands the power he wields.
To go after Buhari, Tinubu just needs to win his second tenure. That time, he needs nothing from the north again. He may not even have to bring him to court. He will use unconventional means to deal with him. Buhari already said no one should come after him when he leaves office. He said the records are there for them to check. If the president has all the power he claims to have, let him go after Buhari and let’s see what happens. |
