Na so so tax tax be una IGR. Sokoto state is one of the states that uses sharia law. In shariah, taxes are not allowed. |
shortgun:A man that abandoned his child or children at a tender age should be man enough to not demand those kids in the future. You rejected them. |
Remman:What he’s simply saying is that the products or factors that drive the production of Maggi should not be left to operate by free economy. Diesel, petrol, forex, raw materials etc that are used to manufacture daily products should be regulated by the government and not left to private investors. |

This explains why customs increase duties at will. It’s a win for them. |
Alexis11:The military coup that brought in Aguiyi Ironsi lasted only 6 months. Whatever decisions or decrees that were made by him could have been reversed easily by Gowon but they were not. If the decrees were bad, why did Gowon not reverse them? Gowon and successive governments that enshrined the decrees that dissolved regionalism must also take part of this blame game. I think it’s sensible we focus on moving forward as a nation, learn from our mistakes and avoid repeating such. Not going back to blame people for things that cannot be reversed. |
helinues:The post says Niger State, you’re here basking in the euphoria of calling Niger State Niger Country. |
![]() See what bad economic policies is reducing the people to. Tomatoes is supposed to be a cheap crop for making our daily meal, but here we are discussing alternatives to something that’s never been a problem to majority in making just stew and soups. The only time I knew stew can be made without using tomatoes was when I was in Katsina and that itself is a different type of stew made from pumpkins. Miyar kabewa |
Let us remain as states that we are already and drop this region idea. It is in the past and should be left in the past. We should instead focus more on making each state to become a federating unit of its own developing at its own pace. This collabo will only add more pressure and burden to some states and will result in the same problems of some regions drawing back the progress of the others. We claim to adopt the USA type of democracy but we do not follow it as they do. Our forefathers did not have anything like western region or Yoruba land instead they had cities, towns and kingdoms operating at their own paces and doing trades with one another. I for one do not support this region thing. |

Lagosians did not miss him after he left office, you expect Nigerians to miss him? |

Goodnewsforlife:When we blame the buyers, we also need to heap more blames on the sellers of such lands. The sellers know better than the buyers but still go ahead to sell areas that are meant for water to pass through to unsuspecting buyers. Let’s keep the tribal cards away and address the main issues. A law should be made to prosecute both sellers and buyers of such lands. |
Goodnewsforlife:Demolishing houses isn’t the only solution to the drainage problems. Fashola demolished buildings still the problem persists. The drains in Lagos are small, narrow and shallow. I am not an engineer but the types of drainage systems in Lagos state have proven to be ineffective in allowing proper flow of water. Why not try something deeper, wider and completely closed drainage system and see if it’ll work? We can’t keep doing one thing the same way and experts different result. |
Lagos issue of flooding isn’t as a result of natural disasters but bad and terrible drainage systems coupled with littering. I wonder why the government haven’t taken a bold step to address the drainage issues in Lagos state all these years. |
Northernblood9:What will the people eat? Agbado, garri, cassava? You forget that cost of transportation has more than doubled since the increase in petrol prices. |
The joy you get when you can change your facial hair styles weekly isn’t comparable. |
In Nigeria we try to forget history. In reality we shouldn’t forget what happened in the past so we don’t make mistakes of the past in the future and present. I am particularly interested in this Biafra story both from a Biafran soldier that participated in the war and a Nigerian soldier that was part of the war. Most of what we have are narratives from Generals that were not in the theater of war. |
Ola9ja23:He actually said the fact. I remember some months back when Lagos State government announced drivers of danfos to pay 800 Naira levy. It did not fly, agebros still did their thing. |
SYSTEM222:500k to make 200M in a month. Abeg teach me how you trade so I can try it. |
These people throw figures around as if we can’t verify what they say. How can Binance have a turnover of $20bn from Nigeria alone? How? These guys should be reasonable na. |

LegendHero:I ran a check and found out the US president receives an annual salary of $400k and a senator $174k. When I checked for Secretary of State is about $221k per annum. From your analogy you can see that the difference between the secretary and civil servants salaries is just a little over $20k, here in Nigeria the difference is 100% or way more. |
Keep your political opinions to yourself next time. There’s a reason many public figures don’t openly declare support for a person or party. It always has consequences whether good or bad. |

LegendHero:In Nigeria an elected official will employ 35 aides with numerous duplicated roles. SSA for Media, SSA for New Media, SSA for Motion Pictures etc. all these get paid same amount as shown in that slip or more. A level 17 officer can only dream of such salary talk more of a level 8. I was opportune to work in the civil service in Lagos state and I was privy to see contributory pensions of some colleagues in level 15, 16, 17 etc and I kid you not, not a single of them had up to 10M contribution, these are people that have put in 15, 20, 25, 30 years in service. I told myself I cannot serve for so long and have so little to show for it, I resigned the job 2 years after my appointment and faced a business. My mother is a retired civil servant from Lagos state and her pension after 35 years in service was just little over 4M naira, she retired in level 16 mind you. Thank God she has children that are well to do, that is why she felt nothing 3 years after retirement before her gratuity of just over 2M naira was paid to her. An aide that was just lucky to have his master elected as a political office holder can buy a house of reps form of 20M naira, build luxurious houses, buy expensive cars all in less than a decade not because he had a business before but because he became a media aide to the president. Now tell him if this is the same case in the United States. A public servant gets paid peanuts because he is a public servant. |
Oga which Nigerian Muslims you dey talk about? No be all of us dey this together. Na ur types dey make dem call Muslims terrorists and all sorts of names. Your extremism is too much. You do not speak for Nigerian Muslims you speak for yourself and your MURIC group. |
Whatever you accuse Obidients of doing you have also done same in the past when your party was in the opposition. Obedients and Batists are 2 sides of a coin. |
A civil servant will never get past level 17 even after working for 35 years. A guy that was selling recharge cards prior 2015 got appointed as a media aide and he is on level 33. In a country where there is no fairness, there can never be progress. |
