Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is politically mischievous and calculating. He actively worked against some of Yorubaland's most illustrious sons and has always been uncomfortable with anyone whose influence could rival or surpass his own.

What was withheld was LG funds and that was rightly done because Tinubu illegally created 37 LGAs later renamed LCDAs in addition to the existing constitutionally recognized 20 LGAs.

LG funds were given to governors then and FG held it so Tinubu will not illegally share the funds with 37 illegal LCDA chairmen he created.
