Now if you agree 50k can empower petty traders but your argument is that it can’t empower petty traders that are just starting afresh. So Remi argument is this, rather than beg and remain idle, take 50 - 70k and start something even if it’s selling Akara.

The same Remi gave scholarships, grants, even did a fundraiser running into billions for a library. Are you saying she should only focus on the educated and leave the less privileged to their fate?

Tinubu was also governor of Lagos state. There are thousands of women in poverty in this same Lagos you all claim he built. Tinubu is president now, he has thrown more Nigerians below poverty line than any government before him.


50k cannot “start” Akara trade as the First Lady advised. To start Akara trade for someone with nothing but 50k is impossible all thanks to Tinubu’s handling of the economy.

Peter Obi gives scholarships and donations as well. He even said at some point before he even went into politics he bought shops at trade fair in Lagos and gave them out to people and those people are still benefiting from that gesture.

Note the key difference. The women Obi gave 10k each already have existing petty trades which they can inject the money. The women Remi Tinubu advised to start selling Akara and kulikuli were not doing such trade before.

He gave them money not as an office holder but as an ordinary citizen.

He didn’t say he gave them 10k to “start” a business. He gave them as gifts.

Lagos state got all its state allocations during Objs era.

What was not released were LGA funds and that is because Tinubu created 37 new LCDAs against the Nigerian constitutionally approved 20 LGAs for Lagos.

And because LGA funds were paid to state governors, OBJ wanted to avoid a situation where Tinubu would share funds meant for 20 LGAs amongst 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs.

The successes of the FG then is what also drove the success of Lagos state. You can’t separate Lagos from Nigeria.

Mind you the same Tinubu that said Obj didn’t give him funds then is also doing the same to Osun state now by withholding the LGA funds.

Are you insinuating that the 20 pounds rumored to be given to some Igbos after the war is what they used to thrive and expand to what they are today?

The truth is that an Atiku presidency will assemble the best minds to administer this country. Under the Obasanjo presidency, he and Obasanjo had a young and formidable team comprising of Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Nasir El-Rufai, Oby Ezekwesili and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as the engine room of their presidency. Even Nuhu Ribadu was later scouted and brought in to run the newly created EFCC. Many of us thought a Tinubu presidency will replicate that given the team he put together in Lagos but it ended up being an all-Lagos affair with politics and cronyism taking the place of competence and capacity.

The successes Tinubu had as Lagos state governor can be attributed to the brilliant economic leadership of the central PDP government then.

I have said this. The educational system in Nigeria is purposely being destroyed. It started decades ago when people with lower grades were sent to faculty of education to study educational courses.

In Nigeria educational courses are seen as bottom feeders course or last option should one not meet the cut off for the course he originally chose.

That must first change. Whoever wants to become a teacher must choose education as its first choice.

Government must invest massively in education and teachers pays.

We shouldn’t be encouraging these type of discussions when the government over the decades have failed to fix power.

Maybe because it was not so expensive then afterall when I attended university, my first school fees was N1500 while minimum wage was N5500. Today, minimum wage is N70k while same school fees is N300k. All thanks to your god.
Getting by is not a way of life to wish on others. It leads to poor standard of living, poor health and even uncertainty about the future. You shouldn't be advocating for people to just "get by" in life. You should advocate for people especially young Nigerians to get opportunities to aspire to be the best they can be.

For all these to work, members of your party need to share same ideology and values.

Will the party create a blueprint outlining what and what must be done to achieve the goals and objectives, and this blueprint must be followed by every elected member of this party at any level of government? I ask this because like I’ve said before the parties that have been dominating since 1999 tend to have zero ideology and all their elected members just do whatever they feel like. Successors abandon agendas of predecessor and start another agenda. E.g Yaradua had a 7 point agenda, after his passing and his successor GEJ took over, he started another agenda Vision 2020. I’ve seen same happen in Lagos as well. From Fashola to Ambode to Sanwo Olu. All came and started their own different agendas.

Will you allow such in your party?
