I witnessed first hand the ENDSARS protests as a full grown adult. 1966 events were narrated to me and I also did my own research to understand what happened then.

The ENDSARS protests was never a “destroy Tinubu” or “destroy Yoruba” agenda you and your so called elders have turned it to be. It was a protest organized by the youth majority you are southerners to get the disbanding of the police unit called SARS. They came together in unison because that police unit had for many years tormented, exploited and extra killed many youths extra judicially.

The build up to the protest started when a young man named Kolade was shot dead by SARS operatives in either Ogun state or Oyo state, he was just returning from a football match before he was accosted, labeled a criminal and was killed while they were trying to illegally arrest him.

The straw that broke the camels back was that in Asaba, Delta state, barely few weeks after Kolade’s killing, SARS operatives chased “alleged yahoo boys” which led to an accident which involved school children.

ENDSARS was a movement started by Segalink a twitter activist that helped young people get justice against SARS operatives. It started years before 2020 ENDSARS protests.

Don’t come here to tell me that it was an end some people agenda because it was never that.

Kanu did not start the ENDSARS protests, he only took advantage of it to create chaos.

ENDSARS protests was started because SARS as an entity affected many youths in the south and they all could relate. In fact ENDSARS itself was started by Segalink, many years before the protest.
