True but for how many votes in an impeachment process? His vote was never needed as they already have more than enough locked down in the bag. These are not political rookies on Nairaland, they are real life politicians and I can tell you for free that things simply don't work that way. This man knows exactly what he was doing in that interview. SirJerrie: Bros... 5 billion Naira is just 3 million dollars...
Your politicians embezzle for more than that... Especially for an oil-rich state |

In Yorubaland, being an indigene is fully tied to ethnicity. How you do that in Igboland is your problem . Agboriotejoye: That is not in doubt. But the topic is indigene rights not ethnicity It is hypocrisy to fight for indigene rights to be exclusive while denying other indigenes of their rights |

Yorubas have been ruling Lagos since 1999. That's all that matters not some Ogogoro joint conspiracy theory in Anambra. Agboriotejoye: I don't get I thought Jagaban was restructuring Nigeria through those bills Besides, no indigene has ruled Lagos since 1999 |

You are a kid and your typical emotional games can't move someone like me. So Yorubas should allow you to become Yoruba out of fear of Rwandan genocide? What a spectacular clown. Dude, you better grow up and be a proud African man of Igbo tribe. Stop being a weakling in the name of material things. You want to lose your identity because of what you can gain in Yorubaland? Are you not even ashamed of yourself? What a weakling obyno82: Oga you are trying to dodge and go off tangent. The truth is this thing you are pushing will lead to your destruction. This was how Rwandan genocide started our Land, our Land and they got their wish and had their land except at 6ft under. |

He thinks it's about fear . I've witnessed your people scrambling and jumping into the next available truck to escape from the South West and the North when nothing was chasing them just mere rumours, not once, not twice. So forget all those embellishments you hear from your grandma and stand up comedians, we all know the national cowards Stop your cheap diversions and face the issue: Why would you as a Igboman want to become a Yoruba indigene? Give a good reason that won't make your Amadioha strike you and your entire lineage. As a Yorubaman, I will never dream of that in a million years! obyno82: But your roots are not affected naaaa. Is the Fulani bringing Fula practices and making it law in Yoruba land? Are the igbos bringing Amadioha into Yoruba land or are Yorubas bringing Orisha into igbo land? So what really is your fear? |
Politics › Re: Yoruba Group Rejects Bill Granting Indigene Rights Through Residency, Marriage by Shikena(m): 8:50pm On Mar 30, 2025 |
Emotional blackmail. We already fought a war in Nigeria and that's done and dusted. Without going off tangent, you can buy land in Yorubaland as you see that we don't care but to become indigenes, no you can't have that. Stick with yours, own your tribe and be proud of it. We are Africans and we all know our homeland, simple . obyno82: But you keep selling your lands. The way you are talking you don't even own a square meter of land. Oga go and get a job it is only jobless people that inflame the embers of hate because psychologically they are depressed and need to blame someone for their misfortune. This was how Hutus started and they instigated the Rwandan genocide claiming our land, our land like you are doing and guess what they had their land except that the land swallowed them 6ft under as they were executed via firing squad. I repeat it again go and get a decent job and try to be useful to your life and your loved ones, you see this ethnic hate you are spreading, people before you have done it and they are nowhere now, some of them are dead already It will be your portion if you go down that road. |

We are not afraid of anything. We are emphasizing our roots and our ancestry which we are proud of! You should be proud of yours too instead of trying to become a Yoruba indigene. Tufiakwa, do you have any shame at all!!!! obyno82: What are you guys afraid of really? You guys should stop being dense. |
Politics › Re: Yoruba Group Rejects Bill Granting Indigene Rights Through Residency, Marriage by Shikena(m): 8:41pm On Mar 30, 2025 |
That's exactly what I just wrote. What sort of alien behaviour is that? Why would any sane African man want to change indigeneship to another African tribe? What for? What sort of stupid and daft civilization would warrant that? Their ancestors would be ashamed of them. Arrant nonsense! Whalis: Why do Igbo people want indigeneship of regions not theirs? I know no one would sponsor such bill other than an Igbo person. |
Politics › Re: Yoruba Group Rejects Bill Granting Indigene Rights Through Residency, Marriage by Shikena(m): 8:39pm On Mar 30, 2025 |
Again, we know you more than you think we do. Whether I'm the daft or you are the daft one will be decided at the right time but your bill is dead on arrival. Bottomline, if you are Igbo you cannot be an indigene of Yorubaland. I am Yoruba and will never ever aspire to be an indigene of Igboland. I can only live in your homeland as a Yorubaman in Igbo land. That is enough for me and should be enough for any sane and proud African! obyno82: Stop being daft. Show me where igbos force Yorubas to sell family land or communal land in SW. That is the same scenario is the South east. Try and ve sensible |
Politics › Re: Yoruba Group Rejects Bill Granting Indigene Rights Through Residency, Marriage by Shikena(m): 8:34pm On Mar 30, 2025 |
That's the point. You can buy land anywhere in the SW but South Westerners are not sure of that in your village where cases of even indigenes of a neighboring village being denied such access is well known. We are okay with what you already enjoy in the SW. We don't want to give more than enough room. We saw what your guys did with the last election in Lagos. iLoveYouToo: Tell me a part of the SW that I can’t buy land? I don’t even need to be an indigene to own land in any part of this country called Nigeria.
We aren’t in the US |
Politics › Re: Yoruba Group Rejects Bill Granting Indigene Rights Through Residency, Marriage by Shikena(m): 8:28pm On Mar 30, 2025 |
Then you have missed the entire point. This is not about what you want. *Land was only used as an example since that is a concern of many Nigerians with regards to being "naturalized" indigenes of Igbo land via residency or marriage. iLoveYouToo: Why would I want to go and buy land in the Grand Canyon? What for?
Besides, so you think this bill is in any way about land? Nothing stops anyone from buying lands in Nigeria provided you have the money and the seller is willing to sell. Tell me where I can’t buy land in Nigeria IF IT APPEALS TO ME? |

Why should we? Even America the number 1 promoter of democracy in the world have about 326 federally recognized tribal homelands known as native american reservations. People are free to do whatever they like in cities built by immigrants but no access to tribal homelands of the original landlords. JuanDeDios: INDIGENSHIP is by TRIBAL DESCENT. I doubt our people will get over that. We should, but I doubt we can anytime soon. So maybe they should just rephrase it "residential right with full rights to vote and bla bla..." |

Honestly some people just think they are too wise in this country. Indigenous homelands must be protected.
However, every state must be encouraged to provide free zones for development of new cities. In essence, every state must have a piece of no man's land where no individual is allowed to own more than a specific number of plots of land to avoid monopolies and property tax must be fully enforced. |

No way on earth I'm lodging in that type of hotel unless I'm absolutely left with no choice and in that case it's all safety measures fully activated. God forbid it happens, the mindset at that point is not succumbing without a hell of a battle and definitely not going to be the only casualty, at least one of the assailants is going too. |

Maybe fancy is not the word but the class of hotel matters a lot. I've been following similar stories and the type of hotel is indeed a factor. They are not the super cheap type but are almost always lower standard hotels. You safety tips are excellent. If they know that your presence is no secret to your people then you are a lot safer and not a good target. ugodson: Is like someone should not lodge in hotel again? Dont be deceived on how fancy it is o!
Make calls describing the hotel you are in with address infront of the receptionist, DONT pay with cash use your atm card or transfer.
If you are leaving next day, nake a call in their presence saying they should come pick you up in d hotel so by d next day you quickly find your way |
