PoliticsRe: Prof Nwosu Died Without Confessing, He Can’t Be Rewarded – Oshiomhole by Shikena(m): 2:43pm On Mar 29, 2025
Well captured!

Image123:
i have mentioned it many times that this court order was AFTER Nwosu's suspension of announcements. Decree 13 at this time doesn’t allow court order to interfere with NEC. Nwosu cannot be straddling between superhero and mere civil servant, we need to choose one. And for the sake of the God you keep mentioning, keep tribe out of the discussion and focus on actions.
Nwosu is claiming how he walks into Aso Rock at will without stop and surprises generals by attending their meetings. Why is it that this great man that can go ahead with elections suspended the announcement and didn't announce for 7days before he was sacked.
Watch this video of Nwosu. And help answer why he said that the election was inconclusive.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keSD3BCqsUo?si=8BW-FqghwIlCPKw3

Watch from 10.30 to like 11mins. He said that he asked the military to allow them to announce the results, conclude the elections, and challenge the court decision. The military didn't say no. They said you are on your own.
This is exactly what IBB admitted to. Nwosu had the chance to announce and conclude. Instead of going on his own as an independent body to announce and conclude the elections officially, he went to submit the results in court. Is it the judge's duty to announce the results or Nwosu? He's talking about accelerated hearing, what happened to his accelerated announcement? Between him that should have been courageous enough to do the right thing, and Nduka that came to announce annulment of election, which one was more courageous? IBB denied Nduka and expressed surprise in his book. It was these actions and inactions that he claimed to act on. How can the NEC chairman be asking the Nigerian press to announce the results? Look between 13 to 15mins, he says it clearly that after the commission was dissolved, he could no longer announce. Sir, why didn't you announce between June 16 to 23 when you were still chairman?Instead, you were waiting for the press and the courts to announce. Why didn't you take advantage of the division in the military which you knew, and the leeway IBB gave you?

Asonaijaaso:
Humphrey Nwosu is No Hero – Let’s Be Honest

Honoring Humphrey Nwosu in the same breath as MKO Abiola is an insult to history.

After Abacha died, MKO Abiola died—a clear signal that forces beyond Nwosu were at play. But in moments where great men stand up to cement their legacy, Nwosu remained silent.

He had one duty: affirm that MKO won fair and square. He didn’t.

Why?
• Fear of IBB? Maybe.
• Pressure from the military? Likely.
• But history only remembers the bold, not the cautious.

Compare Him to True Heroes

Today, we have INEC commissioners risking their lives to declare results under threats, some even at gunpoint, yet standing firm.
• Some have lost their lives for announcing the rightful winners.
• Nwosu had none of that courage.

Senator Abaribe’s Calls for Immortalization? Nothing to See Here.

He was just a civil servant. He did his job—but nothing extra.
• He didn’t fight for justice.
• He didn’t push against the annulment.
• He didn’t defend the mandate of the people.

Greatness is defined by what you do when it matters most.

Humphrey Nwosu is no hero.
He was just a bureaucrat who stayed within the lines.

PoliticsRe: Senate Rejects Motion To Immortalise Humphrey Nwosu by Shikena(m): 9:31pm On Mar 27, 2025
True! Trying to paint Nwosu as anything other than a coward is a recent concoction. He was seen as a coward and nothing indicated that the position changed at any point in time.

Goosethetruth:
I don't need to do any research I was a full grown adult during the June 12th brouhaha and I lived through the events of that period.
Like I said Humphrey Nwosu was a military collaborator who accepted to be the NEC chair when Eme Awa who was his predecessor saw through Babangida's shenanigans and stepped down from the job.
Nwosu and Babangida's game plan was to make the NRC versus SDP a stalemate election. They thought Abiola and Tofa would cancel each other out but unfortunately for their game Abiola cruised to victory even winning in Tofa's home state of Kano. This threw a spanner in Babangida and Nwosu's evil game plan hence the annulment which led to uprisings that made Nwosu retreat to Enugu while Babangida was forced to step aside and retreat to his Minna hilltop home while installing a puppet Shonekan who was overthrown by Sani Abacha under 91 days.

You Ibos can't hoodwink anyone here. Nwosu was NO hero of June 12 but a surreptitious military rule collaborator.

Unless the China man is not legally liable, all you wrote here means nothing. Take the man to court and deal with the diplomatic side diplomatically. Let Chinese embassy complain to Nigeria's Foreign Affairs ministry. That's how it's handled everywhere.

nedekid:
See, when it comes to some countries, such wahala are handled with care, how I take know?
Few years ago when I had issues with an Indian owned company and I petitioned a state commissioner of police, it was assigned to a department to handle it. Police officers went to the company along with a letter of invitation. The Indian manager of the place said he could not come along, that a rescheduling should be done. The police officer asked the Indian if he was refusing to accompany then to honor the CPs invitation? Me sef de there and was waiting for action from the police. Anyway police officer called his oga who said they should reschedule the invite. It was later the police commanding officer explained that dealing with expatriates of certain countries Nigeria does heavy business with, they have to be careful as it way casude diplomatic fall-outs. As at then, even till now India and possibly China are the largest buyers of Nigerian crude. China is the bigger giver of cheap loans to naija not to talk of all the infrastructure they are financing and building here. Don't forget naija is trying to join BRICS, we have to be in good terms with the chinese as an alternative if the West starts to misbehave.
In surmarry this does not mean the China man wount be brought to justice if found wanting.

Bayo Onanuga, the tribal bigot has no right to question what Mr. Peter Obi says. He should sit and admonish his master to do the right thing. Nigerians are barely surviving. Nigerians are not smiling.

Just fix the issue.

Also, people should mount pressure on their state governors to make their states livable. The pressure on Lagos is too much. Federal government moved to Abuja over 30 years ago and even prior to that not much happened in Lagos at federal level after Yakubu Gowon except the completion of 3rd mainland bridge and one or two other structures.
