Igbos are the ones selling drugs in South Africa and you should learn to leave within the confines if the law which ever land you seek greener pasture but more importantly never claim any other tribe's land is a no man's land out of unapologetic stupidity which ruins in Igbo blood from birth.

PoliticsRe: HELP !! Yoruba Plot To KILL Ibaka Deep Sea Port by shizzleStar: 6:54pm On Apr 17, 2015
otr1:
This topic reads: HELP !! Yoruba Plot To KILL Ibaka Deep Sea Port". One way or the other, you're begging for help.
Now that we know the solution to your problems, we'll ensure that the Sea Port becomes a reality within the next 8 years, but promise us y'all will go back to the East so that all our efforts will not be for nothing. Boycott Lagos Ports entirely and lets feel your absence
It shall come to pass

What's your definition of backwardness?
It's only in the East that I've seen a community so far without motorable road, potable water, electricity, school, and healthcare facility. The only semblance of government presence is a polling unit. Tell me what's more backward than that?
shhhh! Anambra state has the best rural road network in the entire federation. FACT! I have said it countless times, you youbas shouldn't just sit in ogbomosho, odogbo, iragbiji or atakunmosa slums and think igboland is like that cheesy
[s]Yes we love you. An Igbo family (not Ibo like yougrin), is occupying a part of my Grandpa's house in my Hometown free of charge, just to keep Grandma company. A free plot of land to build their own house- not that land is so cheap there. If that's not love, I wonder what it is[/s]
*yawnss*

. However, somewhere accross the Niger, I, a Yorubaman can never own a land, talkless of a house. Now can you see the difference?
Not until you show me one non-igbo that has been discriminated against in Igbo land, I can't take you serious and the assumption continues.
The SE is not more progressive than the SW. At least, statistical data and the reality on ground don't point to that direction. Yes, your destiny lie not in occupying political offices, but in vissionary Leaders, which you people don't have.
what statistics? The average Igbo man is faring better than the average Yoruba man

[s]We're not known to use our offices to favor only our people. My fellow Yorubas can attest to that.
We don't engage in favoritism and nepotism. We believe in merit and result.
Just watch and take notes ok[/s]?grin
lmao! says a Yoruba man whose tribe is notorious to promoting tribalism, sectionalism, ethnicity and nepotism in Nigeria.... laffing in awori cheesygrin

So what's the essence of this topic if not begging the Yorubas to come to the rescue? What business have the Yorubas with Ibaka Port? Did we stop revenue flow from the FG to the East, or you just like blaming the Yorubas for your backwardness?
When was the last time we ever blame the Ibos for anything? If that's not a sign of superiority, then what's it? We have no point to prove to you, it's you Ibos who have been trying to prove superiority all these while, but turn around and accuse us of sabotaging you economically and politically. How is that posible for the weaker group to do? It's you people who have been blowing the ember of our ego by blaming us for your woes and even begging for help against Yoruba oppression and sabotage, as evident in this thread.
We know all your chest beating and obsession with us point to a fact; you're afraid of us. I've spent too much time with you people to be mistaken.
Since you've been exhibiting this unreciprocated hatred towards us and it's not working for you, isn't it time you try something else...something like worshipping us as your gods, may be, just may be, things we start working for you?
grin Same egoistic bullsh1t....SMH

The article says sabotage, no where did it say 'beg'. Please the me when igbos have begged Yoruba for anything. Igbo take full responsibilities for its actions Fyi. Btw please name one yoruba state that is not as backward as the stone age minus lagos which the yorubas has very little contribution to its development. Is it osun, ekiti, oyo, where? please just zip ya mouth.

Igbos hate yoruba and yoruba love igbos right? clap for yourself

As for the last part of your post, if we've succeeded in ensuring your region remains backward( as you'd make us believe) without Federal might, what makes you think you stand a chance of crippling the country now that we have greater influence?
Isn't that giving us an excuse to turn you all to destitutes once and for all knowing fully well that we have an history of using economic and political weapons to win wars without firing a shot?
You better come back to your senses, you're not our match.
That the SE does not have much federal presence does not men it backward. It is even more progressive than the SW region despite its political advantage and presence. Our destiny does not lie in political offices....ask the hausas.

Your seeming greater influence will come to nought if you try to mis-use it. 2015 isn't 1967, the odds are not in your favour this time around. Keep blabbing as to turning to destitute, your delusions will turn out to be your major nightmare.

...[s]in that case, don't expect the project to materialize till "thy kingdom come" if you're expecting the Yorubas to help you construct the Sea Port.

If the Yorubas are so capable of frustrating anything good in the SS and the SE and you guys are helpless about it, isn't it obvious that we're superior to you?
Now that you know that we can thwart your progress, isn't it wise that you stop getting on our nerves by calling us names?
I know an average Easterner deep inside, fear and hold the Yorubas in high esteem, but I never knew you've elevate us to the level of your deities[/s].
Bleeping, filthy mor.on

Please where is it stated that we want yorhba to help us construct the port? Why do you fools like to give yourselves over bloated self worth? Imagine this goat saying yorubas are superior and Igbos fear them...I laff in ijebu. Wonders shall never end!

Listen, you can only try but you cant thwart our progress much as you try. Worst comes go worst, the whole country and everyone will suffer for it, and do not expect us to stop getting on your nerves anytime soon. You can continue fanning your ego and revel in self praise, but any attempt to over-use your political advantage at the center will cripple the whole country.

Reallyhuh

I speak fluent Igbo (I was born and brought up in Owerri). Do Hausa and Igbo speak very fluent Igbo? Yes. But when the chips are down will this position of yours be honoured? I leave that for time to judge.

I must say I had a nice time chatting wisely with you.
Thanks. You see I like people like you; very civil, rational and with a sane mind. I'm also glad you attested to the fact that you were born and bred in igboland and speak the language fluently...perhaps even more than me ..lol and most probably you've been living there without any form of harassment or intimidation.

If igbos were intolerant and not accommodating as some people who have never left SW would want us believe, i doubt if that would have been possible. How I wish many Yoruba will have free mind like you, travel out of the SW and appreciate other peoples lifestyle and culture just like Igbo are doing.

@bolded, the onus is on any non-igbo person to take the bold step and come out for an elective position. Until then, we can't assume or conclude that what happened in Lagos can't happen anywhere in Igbo land.

Cheers bruv!

As a yoruba man, and one who has close ties to the throne in my hometown, I lambasted the Oba at every possible opportunity. But be truthful to yourself and I really ask you to be with my next questions. Can a non-igbo man contest and vie for any social or political posts in any state in the south eastern part of Nigeriahuh Will he not be reminded that there are eligible sons of the soil who can take such positions? But what happened in Lagos - 6 HOA positions for the non-yoruba man. Where has that happened in Nigeria? Can that REALLY happen in your home statehuh
Why not?? I am from anambra state. In Awka you find Hausa and yoruba speaking fluent Igbo such that you'll marvel. If a Yoruba man has dwelt in Igbo land long enough, does business and earns a living there he can vie for any electoral position. No one will remind him that he is a hausa or yoruba man as long as he is qualified as per the criteria mentioned earlier.

The problem with most yoruba a folks is that they dont travel, like some people will say many of them are inherently lazy, as against the adventurous and industrious instincts of the average Igbo man. This is why i feel yoruba are the most triblastic set of people because they only want to relate and associate with themselves rather than mingle with others.

When you al shout "yoruba" insult you saying "you are on our land" and are so vociferous about it, I really am tempted to ask; are you on your land? Really??
You rather should ask yourself why the Yorubaman feel so bittered about the success of an Igbo man in lagos that warrants his 'need' to remind him that 'you are in your land'.
PoliticsRe: Ijeoma Ozichi Writes Chimamanda Adichie On The Oba Of Lagos Statement To Igbos by shizzleStar: 12:55pm On Apr 15, 2015
Btw, i didn't see what's tribalistic about Chimamandas article, her article was so apt, rational and objective.

Much as this lost soul ijeoma girl tried to sound objective and balance the article, she failed to address a pertinent question. She kept foaming in the mouth talking about reference to Lagos as 'no mans land' bla ..bla..but she conveniently forgot to also address why an igbo man, (Nigerian) living in Nigeria will be referred to by a fellow Nigerian as an 'immigrant' or 'foreigner'. How convenient of her?

And then again why did she chose to refer to Chimamandas article only, what about the senseless letter from the so called 'Yoruba's outside Nigeria' who continuously referee to Igbos in Lagos as 'refugees'? why did she not address that too.?

She conveniently skipped the yoruba letter with all its vitriolic and tirade to tackle Chimamnada who presented a more logical and objective view and reaction to the oba of lagoons unreasonable comment on igbos in lagos.

Ijeoma or whatever, thanks but no thanks. Nice try thou! but we ain't buying your 'peace-making' sermon. Keep kissing arsee to placate the people from your place of marriage but we are not fooled and cant be.

Respect is reciprocal! if Yoruba think they can insult us all in the name of 'you are in our land', and expect us to keep quiet, WRONG! we will insult back in equal measure.
