There is no form of reprisal killing in Jos. Wonder where that came from. And it is not even planned. The last time bombs exploded at the Viewing Centres, did anyone hear of any reprisal killing? People that call the Native Beroms Flesh-eaters are also trying to get the polity heated. Such unfounded rumours! |
Will outgrower program not work in western Nigeria? |

I thot PHCN finally off Government and now on its own. They have several hidden charges and now hiking tariff! I usually buy bulk and when its time for renewal, you hear STORIES. For instance, I paid 20k pre-paid credit which after some months was exhausted last week. I took another bulk payment there and was told that I WAS OWING VAT??as an accountant, I couldn't understand. Each time I pay, the receipt shows VAT on the amount paid that is deducted from credit/units. And they also charge 'meter maintance fees', |
All the ones I sold today was at 158 naira to 1usd in Lagos. I visited Shitta(surulere), Aguda Market(surulere) and Yaba Bus-stop today and they all said they are buying maximum 158 naira and selling maximum 160 naira to 1usd |
Very interesting and educative thread! There is no business you want to go to that at least one person will discourage you due to past experience.if we all listen to this, no-one will have the entrepreneurial spirit. I agree that its highly challenging to run an agric-business in Nigeria, but I can tell you I know of small scale farmers that generate stable cash-flow and profits. The market demand is huge and we still import bulk of our agric products, wheat, rice, irish potatoes, fish and even tomatoes-yes, tomatoes! Now, I handled two year back some project mgt and financial planning consultancy service for a start-up maize growing entity in Ghana covering 20,000 acres. What I can advise in summary is this: 1. While you can work around your yields per hectare/acre, you will have challenge with Revenue Assurance during harvest period 2. Your financial planning must recognise that farm clearing and planning in itself is dynamic-it can even make or mar the business at incubation stage 3. Will advice you interact with Dutch, Thai and Isreali agric specialists. They have sound knowledge on farm planning, farm growth and sustainability 4. Most Nigerians don't understand financial planning for commercial agric production. When the zimbabwe farmers entered kwara and brought out spreadsheets to present to banks for finances, most of the bank officials were lost in wonderland as they did not understand jack 5. You will not have any problem selling ALL your products after harvest, but most of our crops from villages hardly reach the markets because of poor road insfrastructure, non-availability of preservation techniques and the industry is largely informal till date. Maybe only 2 farms have institutionalised operations! |
F-Mostly on LCD/LED TV via USB connected directly. I think most people use 2 options, but I use 3. If not available for download, I watch using DVD Player. IF I'm on travel, I watch using my LAPTOP. I hope this helps in a way! |
@Adesteve, there is no fear in taking an offer from Enterprise Bank. Professionally speaking career-wise, the more offer letters of employment letters you have, the more marketable you are. Even if you'll work there for only 6-months, you have the experience and some expertise in your kitty and from there you can move on, sack or no sack! As regards First Rand, they have their eyes on Nigeria and could buy any bank. Do you know why I won't say anything on this? For now, the buck stops ONLY at SLS table, atimes approved on merit, atimes on sentiments. Sanusi's CBN published Universal Holdings(owned by Access Bank duo of AIG and Herbert) as one of major bank debtors with non-performing loans, and yet same Access Bank guys have now taken over the prized Intercontinental Bank, just an example to say there is no finance or business combination yardstick that can be used to forecast First Rand's take-over of any of these banks. I hope this helps dear broda |
I guess there is a new meaning to 'tongue-in-the-cheek'. And nobody mentioned average age of the team. That is not an index of continuity, but it relates to longetivity. We are talking of our youth team as breeding ground. The scenario will be clear if Pep leaves Barca and Murinho leaves RM, then come back and see which players leave with either coach and also performance post-pep and post-RM. As regards Neymar, you can read all articles,it was RM that wanted him but he stated his preference for Barca and since he's young and groomable, why not go for HIM. If RM is ahead of barca, why do the players keep saying they are now at par with Barca and Bara is beatable bla bla bla?what makes a club become a reference point? |
Sanusi is all noise. The only praise I have for him is that he's one of our pioneer sound risk managers in the Nigerian Banking sector. But as CBN governor, soludo is miles ahead. CBN governors always consider the ripple effect on the economy before making major banking reform decisions. I put it to anyone that what Eratus and Ibru were accused of applies to most if not ALL executives in Nigeria at that period, whether Elumelu, Ovia, Tayo/Fola Adeola,Aig/herbert wigwe etc etc. They owned and still own most of their bank branches and HO buildings, they acquired posh cars and properties world wide and gave out huge loans and contracts to family and friends etc. Soludo expanded and enhanced the discount window available to the banks having liquidity issues and opened up some cushioning effects to make them meet their capital adequacy. In USA, I remembered the execs faced the congress and eventually were made to cut their excesses, removed perks and bonuses. I had meetings in some of the saved banks with Sanusi's men at the Helm of affairs and I saw their newly acquired luxurious rides. Which costs were they saving? And how many of them could salvage the banks? Sanusi's media men and himself are always quick to repudiate attacks or insinuations about him but to my knowledge, he is yet to disclaim the allegations that Bukola Saraki got him the CBN Job, he wrote off saraki's indebtedness to Intercontinental bank, restored SGBN license, put his man Lai Alabi at the Helm of Intercontinental bank etc etc. Anyway, I don't see his term renewed, and I foresee AIG taking over, |

@usbcable, let us hear your 'expanded' view, any one can say or type anything, let's read your progressive, expanded and futuristic views clearly. I can't just type that 'Usbcable is a mad man' without stating 'why he is, ' |
Personally, I do not see any dip in form, but some sacrifices we are taking to get BETTER and also forming a new team(which most teams like RM not doing). The basis for this is to agree first that its not easy to keep motivating players that have won every trophy possible. You will now understand why the coach does lots of experiments with formation and players he uses and many of us have started seeing players that will soon join the main team from the youth team. Even though the coach might leave, he is already providing strategy on how to get stronger year-in, year-out. For Real Madrid, they will keep bringing out buying cheques anytime they need new players, but us, we grow players. And Pep is not doing it like Arsene Wenger;he's doing this while we are still in top form. Let's keep supporting the club, our coach and the players. Believe me, they are THE BEST! |
If there is 24hrs power supply every day and they are tripling the rates after we've seen continous uninterrupted power, they will have my support. This will reduce greatly how much I buy for fuel at home and office and even save me money. Also, our total petroleum requirement |

Who Is that young-looking Number 17 jersey for Zambia?? |
Great Line-up. You will keep hearing opponents saying we don't have a great bench. We do have and I sincerely think we should even be using Team B for the LaLiga Games and concentrate on winning CL back-to-back! |
That is a very good loan facility. Just 10% p.a interest rate, far lower than what prevails in Nigerian Banks. I will grab such with both hands for my existing business |
Please poster or moderator should modify this thread and not deserving to be on first page. It is very misleading. First, it is not a House of Assembly, but National Assembly. Secondly, Bianca Ojukwu was not summoned. She is just one of those Ambassadorial Nominees to be screened today. Nothing like she ought to be around today. Its just that the set of nominees were screened today and of course she can do hers at her convenience. Pls remove the words' House Of Assembly' and 'Summons'. Also nothing like 'she refused'. Very misleading. |
Is it Anambra State House of Assembly or National Assembly(House of Reps/Senate)?for which appointment?Just thinking why not Emeka Ojukwu Jnr, or is it because he was once Commissioner for Special Duties Anambra State? |
I also subscribe to the view that ACN won both Kogi and Adamawa States |
Sure, Cesc has dipped in form. And now seems we are missing David Villa |
3600 youths getting an average of 5million Naira each will give you 18billion Naira. i know there's an agency co-ordinating Youwin and they will have staff and buildings. Also, about 80,000 youths to be trained, maybe at about 12-20billion Naira. Just trying to get the figures and how they add up! |

There is need to fully understand the initiative, its targets, process and expected outcomes. Not only 600 people will get funds. It is in series, with total of 3600 fund beneficiaries over the bext 3 years. Immediately the first 600 receive their funds end of February 2012, the next selection process commences. Aside funding, each serie trains 12,000, making total of 60,000 trained youths on mini-mba skills powered by the EDC of the World Bank. For those that passed through the final stage, the Business Plan Questions template on the website is and international template which I researched to be same as used by Wharton Business School and Stanford for their regular Annual Business Plan Competition that produced several silicon valley companies. YouWin is a BUSINESS PLAN competition, not a loan giver like NDE or capacity-building agency like SMEDAN. The target, as a model for Nigeria, is to create jobs and wealth creation multiplier effect, since beneficiaries will start/grow businesses and employ people. Since its not loans but grants, it is good business the money will circulate fully within the local economy. Even if not utilised effectively by these youths, at least the money will be spent and circulate within the economy. I also learnt that there will be mentorship for the beneficiaries based on their industry and funds will be disbursed based on agreed performance guidelines. It was also clear from the trainings that winners will be given free company registration services and expedited by CAC and any applicable Government concession for them. For me, all these should be applauded if eventually carried out as promised. |

I won't be sad if they win the league. We have won it back-to-back. Will only be sad if we lose The Champions League. Maybe Pep should use only Team-B for our remaining Home League Matches while we focus on Champions League and Copa Del-Ray |
I thot the former Governor Ibrahim Idris read law in University of Abuja? Initially, news was that the Chief Judge was not around. Means He has something to hide and could not trust his Speaker except His In-law |
While we all agree that refereeing was poor, it will be biased to say that it was against Real Madrid and pro- barcelona. With what i saw clearly, that dyed-hair defender used his hands to bring down a goal-bound messi. And the referee who was supposed to be pro-barca(according to madrid fans) gave out a yellow. Most referees will issue a straight RED without blinking for that offence. In case the real madrid fans didnt see it clearly, Ramos tugged at dani alves shirt(his marker) and he fell down before he got the ball into the net. That is not a goal. If you know Sergio Ramos very well, he wont smile and shake the referee when he was given a red card, he knew what he did, elbow and head together when going for an aerial ball with an opponent. and he had series of warnings from the referee before that incidence. Nice match, Real Madrid played exceptionally well, but that doesnt meam barca deserved to Lose when they kept going at goal throughout the match |
