Nairaland General › Re: Cashless Economy: The Role Of Professionals And It's Implication On The Nigerian Economy by sholatech(m): 7:54am On Aug 10, 2011
Hi, to be able to guide you, what project is this, undergraduate or postgraduate or just an article for publication?because you will not have enough material to justify roles of professionals. There are lots of data you can analyse on epayment/cashless economy, but how do you relate it with data on professionals tied to cashless services? Something like role of cashless payment system on economy or impact of cashless/epayment processes on corporate performance might be more realistic

Business › Re: Still On The Cash Withdrawal Limits by sholatech(m): 2:10pm On Jul 31, 2011
Integrated Cash Management Services is the brainchild of Nwodo jnr which he left Standard Trust Bank for.
We all agree Cash management is headache for Nigerian banks and a major cost center.
But what we are saying is that Sanusi's cbn should have enabled enough cashless payment solutions nationwide with supporting infrastructure before setting these limits.
Even in lagos/abuja/port harcourt, lots of businesses still have no alternative to having immediate cash payments for daily transactions. Up north is worse!
A major daily cash transaction is the daily sales of recharge cards nationwide. Billions are sold on daily basis by main dealers/trade partners. It doesn't make sense to accept cheques from sub-dealers when you have no means to know if the cheque is funded or not.
Many agriculture/dairy/mining businesses are located in rural areas where there are no banks and no atm/pos terminals and millions are exchanged daily before the goods are released!
Business › Re: Breach Of Confidentiality By Diamond Bank by sholatech(m): 1:57pm On Jul 31, 2011
The way I understand Diamond Bank Credit card issuance and assessment, it appears you were given a credit limit based on your employment with that company, and not based on your sales/turnover/net worth. You must have filled your employers information in the application form and your salary. Also, did you read all the plenty terms & conditions at the bank of the application form when you applied for the Credit Card? It is because of cases like this that I learnt they stopped giving out the credit cards to bank staff in Nigeria
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by sholatech(m): 1:50pm On Jul 31, 2011
We played a very interesting game and it was nice to see many of our team B youngsters showing stuffs they were made of. We made the best use of the friendly.I saw nice chemistry severally between Iniesta and Thiago. That second goal was uncharacteristic of Barca.mwe hardly lose ball in the Midfield!
Business › Re: Lagos-Ibadan Expressway To Be Financed By South African Bank by sholatech(m): 8:55pm On Jul 26, 2011
While I will not want to delve much into Babalakin's Personality, he is still to be commended instead of been castigated. Those who understand the dynamics of PPP/BOT/Concession financing will know that it takes GUTS to do such in Nigeria.
If these projects are easily financed and planned for, why do you think Dangote/adenuga and all our banks are not rushing into it? Most PPP projects been bandied about in Nigeria are not successful because Government pays lip service to the so called 'enabling environment'. Even lagos state govt is not finding it funny and has had to still pump some funds into the so called PPP projects.
You can sit and criticise MMA2, PPP projects by nature are meant to be long-term financed over 25-years but trust Nigerian Banks that the will not touch such projects with a long pole, except you lie to them that u can raise finance somewhere else to pay back in 2 years.
Abuja airports also had concessionaires, please where are they? How are their financials?
For those criticising Babalakin, if he decides to hands off the project, I can bet you we will all have to wait till Federal Government have such funds, maybe donkey years!
Personally, I don't envy him because Nigeria Financial Markets and the Government are not ready for large scale PPP projects as obtainable in South Africa.
Business › Re: Naira Now N166 To $1. Can Someone Tell Me What Is Happening? by sholatech(m): 9:34am On Jul 26, 2011
In simple terms, if you have a Mastercard or Visacard that you can load in Naira, and use it in Dollars(either by withdrawing on ATMs in USA/Canada) or buy goods online, then you will only be buying dollars at 155-156 naira, But the potentials are limited!
