@seyi42k you are probably not married or you are one of those men who believe compromise must always come from the woman in marriage. I am not using myself as a standard but any sensible friend would allow his friends marriage to blossom by putting a little space . As other men have pointed out most men don't need to discuss daily to have a solid friendship. Even as a woman I am not sure I can discuss daily on the phone for 2hrs with my bff I think its ridiculous . Now imagine if his wife chose to hang out 2hrs daily with her friends I am sure he will be here on nairaland threatning fire and brimstone. If we learn to treat people the way we want to be treated the world would be a better place |
With all due respect zeefa I think you are suffering from diarreha of the mouth. You have given out way to much information about your wife and family generally and if you are this loose with your tongue I can imagine all the shyte you tell dayo about your wife. I think you should take the advice of real men like siena , chamotex , lord reed and matured ladies like cc and sis kill just to mention a few. Cut down on your phone time with your friend and spend more time with your wife. If you friend is truly a friend he should not even be told to reduce the time he spends with you. I have friends that are married and the minute they got married I cut down on how much time and activity I spent and did with them . That's what a sensible friend does |
If we argue from today till tomorrow people will always have divergent views . For some people abroad is milk and honey for some its not and the same opinion for some people with regards to naija. In my honest opinion the reason why a lot of nigerians are finding it hard to survive in naija aside all the issues is the lack of discipline and birth control . As pointed out by a poster the woman selling boli will make on an average 2k a day but she prolly has 6 kids and a drunken husband and same goes for the man who works hard but has a wife who just stays home making babies. I work in a corporate establishment. You will see "ogas" having just 2 kids and the driver will have 12 kids I know 1 or 2 drivers with minimum 12 kids and 2 wives please tell me how they will ever overcome poverty. If you look at the civilized and developed worlds they have 1 or 2 kids they will beg some of them self to give birth. If we postulate and show data from now till eternity we will not agree . The irony is some of the diasporians have never visited naija and some people posting about slums in us/uk dont even know where the airport is. I am in Nigeria and I have never desired to live abroad because I dont get y I should give up a well paying job to relocate . But if some of us are willing to do that good for them . If some of us are willing to also stay in nigeria and make the best out of it good for us to . |
I live in nigeria . I have lived there all my life but have had the opportunity to visit a lot of countries and have made up my mind not to live anywhere else. I have not been attacked by robbers in over 10 years and I live in an area with constant light. I was not born rich but I got a job 6months after leaving school and did not have to sleep or bribe anyone . I am in the process of getting a 15mm mortgage payable for 20 years at 6 percent and I intend to build and let out. As someone rightly said it does not matter where you live . If you set your heart to something and work hard at it you will succeed. I earn a 6 digit salary and most if not all my friends either earn the same or more . I love the structure of the developed world dont get me wrong and the fact that everything works is beautiful . But I also love a lot of things about Nigeria. I recently did not go to work for a day and all my neighbours either knocked or called to be sure I was ok the same wont happen in the civilized countries . I do not blame the Nigerians that have difficulty coming home or living here its sometimes a crazy place to live . But the impression that you have to either sleep with someone be corrupts rob or kill is totally wrong. The irony is as I am usually scared of walking on the road abroad because I could get killed or attacked for something as silly as the color of my skin or any flimsy reason . My fears could be as a result of watching too much crime and investigation sha loll |
Ibadan is a nice place to live. Peaceful and easy. It also has some major industries , P & G, sumal, seven up , bat just to mention a few . I have lived there for a while now and aside the sometime boring nature of the city I would not trade it for any other city |
I think its music all over the world in my opinion from the lady gaga to the latest rave Nikki minaj I no know wetin dem dey sing |
Hmm I remember a time cycling shorts were all the rage. If I remember correctly madonna wore them in one of her videos and it became the in thing to wear this was in the 90s . That being said it trips me when people form some kain class which I know they don't have. People hardly wear cycling shorts anymore, what you see is ladies wearing tights under their clothes especially when they know they will take bikes and to avoid giving people free show. A dirty lady is a dirty lady and wearing tights does not equal bad smell.I personally would prefer to see a lady wearing tights on a bike than to see an exposed bleached lap. If they are comfortable in it and the people tapping their arse have not complained about the smell then goodluck to them |
Don't think it is a big deal. Depends on how the relationship ended. If it ended without bitterness or acrimony on both parts then no big deal. A good friend is getting married to my ex. The relationship between us ended amicably and I introduced them because I felt they were better suited. Life aint that difficult |
I forgot to add that he was able to live a lie because his family was in the us |
May we not fall into the hands of a great pretender. I had a married man ask me out for 4 years pretending to be a single dad. He would attend all my family functions and I went over to his house many times and saw not even a sign of a wife . His cousins and family members would plead with me to date their brother and one of his female cousins would always tell me how much their uncle loved me. But I thank God something held me back all those years and I refused to date him and also was not intimate with him. He proposed marriage and even met my family but when I was about to give in to the pressure from family and friends i found out through divine intervention that he was married with 4kids . To say I was shocked would be an understatement when I confronted the cousin she was just staring and mumbling and till date the man has vanished. Though this story sounds unbelievable I swear that I did not make it up. Its possible the girl met his friends and family members and became comfortable . May God help us all |
@eatme I don't think inked nerd is coming off too strong. The madam is even beginning to annoy me but unlike inked nerd I usually don't involve myself in man and woman talk because most women would always do what they want anyway and knows what she wants to do but needs someone to validate it. Imagine her justifying his ripping her dress as him being scared of losing her smh. Inked please leave her she will still come back here and say "Nairalanders should I continue in this marriage he wakes me up with heavy blows". |
@rokiatu I really don't know what your problem is . I did not mention at any point that I was involved in her business . I was amused by the arguemen ts at work and just wanted a general view so if u have had a rough day kindly don't take it out on me |
A colleague recently met a guy a month ago and we overheard her on the phone saying "I love you" another colleague challenged her that how can she be in love in just three weeks but she insists she is in love.I am curious to know the opinion of nairanlanders should falling in love have an acceptable period and how soon is too soon |
Ororo means cooking oil |
Shy-one please report him asap . I thought it was a doll or something only for me to look closely and see the boxer shorts. Lord have mercy looks like he used ororo on the thing. Wonders shall never end |

If u can suck the vjj and the john thomas and even swallow all the stuff that comes out of those places omo toothbrush na small thing biko. |
I help my BF out financially if I sense he is broke or needs help financially without him asking that's what love is all about being able to genuinely sense when your partner is in trouble and coming to their help without them asking. Perhaps the guy has been taken for a ride before hence he is wary of spending his money . I have been down that road before and it has a way of making you tighten your purse and hold back. I think the reason why most people have problems in relationships is we are not dating our friends . If your best friend had financial issues I am sure most of us would help so why then can't we help someone that we claim to love . I help my guy he helps me out and in my honest opinion that's the way a relationship should be. Symbiotic not parasitic. |
I meant I am full bodied |
Why do people equate big people with excess food. I am not full bodied and I hit the gym constantly And watch what I eat. That much can't be said for my skinny colleagues who eat like pigs but still stay slim though with big tummies. I would rather have a big toned and fit man than a skinny unhealthy man any day |
Seedord assuming your story is true I think its so wrong of you to put such intimate details about the girl on a forum liKe this and even put her facebook profile up for all to see . My guess is you asked this babe out and she refused hence the need to mess her up because I am wondering why u are crying more than the bereaved. If your friend (you) cannot simply say NO to a request stop coming here to cry on his behalf. |
He is not . Guess i aas summed. Chima sounds like an iIboname. My bad |
For you to be married to a nigerian man shows how hot our men are because I am certain you are one helluva fine ,strong black woman and only a correct man can hold u down |
Nigerian men are finer , dress better and have more class than other African countries. |
Nope its kind of risky. Know someone who the guy she got pregnant for and planned to marry died before the wedding and a friend who the guy called off the wedding and she is now a single mum and the guy has married someone else. |
Goldie why are you bothering yourself responding to yeye dey smell. He has said what is paining him. He earns 20k at the cyber cafe he works and cannot afford to feed himself talkless a babe hence the bad belle. Ehen before I forget yeye luv please give me 10k I want to use it to buy suya |
@tpia I would not leave the apartment for him either. If its as olusolami said a temporary thing then yes. If its leave and not come back, I can't oh . What if he stays a long way off and something happens to him on his way home like he runs into armed robbers or while driving off in anger he has an accident. Won't be able to forgive myself. Now assume u leave at the other end of town and he says leave my apartment in the middle of the night and u prolly don't have a car and even if u do would you really want to be driving around in the middle of the night especially in naija . |
I can't because I know how I would feel if he did same to me |
. Guess i aas summed. Chima sounds like an iIboname. My bad
