You can fill another form, but make sure the new dsform ID is updated on the appointment-scheduling site.
Thanks a lot.

Hello everyone.

Thanks for all the insights.

I made a mistake with sponsor surname when filling ds-160 (inputted his middle name as surname) and I already submitted.

Can I fill another application and use on visa appointment or just swear an affidavit and take to interview, while maybe explain the discrepancy to the VO.

Yes, please PM. But it would have been nice to ask and answer questions here so that posterity can benefit.

Meanwhile, thanks for your comments. But you know, I've been into the game for many, many years, so that's expected. You too will be the same or better if you have same experience.
Thanks for your kind words. I will definitely post some questions here for others to learn.

Please is there anyone interested in the MBA or MIS program. Lamar University is accepting fall students without GRE or GMAT.
Boss how can I connect with you please.

This is good GPA, but good GPA is not enough, far from it.

Review mine and others' posts on this thread and then come back with your questions. Some of the questions being asked and asked had been answered.

So review and come back with specific questions. As I said, GPA not enough. I should also add that many schools these days say GRE is optional, but it will take a miracle for a school to reject candidate B in favor of candidate A if B and A are otherwise fully identical but B has GRE and A does not.

So, one place to start is to spend the next 6-8 months prepping fire for the GRE. Yeah, it's math and english and writing, but no it's not just math and english and writing.

This should give you an example of how to plan ahead - https://biochem.oregonstate.edu/content/admission-information. Oregon is not bad, although I admit I know very little about your field, biochem. I'm just trying to give general advice. Hopefully a biochem admissions expert will appear here and answer you
Sir your responses have been impressive. Can I send you a PM?

Thanks. What is your deficit for Lamar.

Pls my people..
I just got admitted into Larmar university with an out of state tuition waiver.
Is there any one here who have had a similar offer? Or who can give me an I sight into this? As I don't know how much financial burden awaits me.

I would like suggestions from the gurus too.
BGSU. TA 5k stipend. 2k tuition scholarship. Engineering technology

Lamar. 1k tuition scholarship, out of state tuition waiver. Mechanical engineering .

Both are MS programs.

Pls gurus
I also got admitted to lamar fee days ago and was informed that I qualify for a similar offer as yours (though I still plan on looking for more scholarships). Also got admitted to BGSU MBA but with no funding.

For Lamar you can ask the international office for your deficit.

In choosing between both schools with good offers, you need to look at other factors that align with your career objectives based on curriculum, location, school and faculty reputation etc for you to decide.

They told me outrightly no funding for data science. I’m even thinking of deferring the admission.

I am still holding on to Texas Tech. Hoping to get funding on campus after I register/resume.

I’m still hoping ETSU, NCAT and Oakland come through.
Same here.

I was told both colleges of business doesn’t offer assistantships.

Deferring is the next option and applying for spring to schools with affordable tuition with or without funding.

Hi Guys,

Thank you all so much for your contribution on this platform.

This is where I am at:

I got admission into 6 US universities.

Texas Tech : Computer Science (1k Scholarship, instate tuition)
Purdue University, Fort Wayne: Computer Science (didn’t qualify for GA, they already picked 5 people)
Oakland University: System Engineering (GA Pending feedback)
East Tenesse State University: Computer and Information Science (No feedback yet)
Michigan Tech: Data Science (No GA for data science)
North Carolina A&T State university: Computational Science and Engineering (GA pending feedback)

I have also gotten my i20 for Texas Tech, however I’m not quite sure what next step to take seeing that COVID-19 is grinding everything to a halt.

Should I pay for visa fees, can we schedule interviews whilst the embassy is still closed.

Or should I just defer the admissions?

Any advice kind Sirs and Mas?

Also, is there anyone in ETSU or NCAT that can help with advice for G.A? There’s been no response and I’m chucking it down to the COVID-19 brouhaha. But any other useful advice would be greatly appreciated.

Please.

Thank you.
Hi
I got admitted to MTU Data Science also, trying to get GA from other departments and institutes. It’s been daunting. I also got Texas Tech MBA, no GA too.

Yeah, having a work experience can be an advantage, but that doesn't mean people without work experience won't do well or contribute well in business school as you claimed.

The best 5 students of accounting and human behaviour in my class last semester were all from none MBA background including me. Mine was even worse because I was non-business background (chemistry) with just 1 year banking experience from naija.

What did I do?, when planning to go to business school, I simply enrolled for short online business, finance and management courses on udemy to prepare myself ahead, read several books and watched several videos on YouTube as well to get myself grounded in the task ahead of me. The way I "dey yarn for class ehn" you will wonder if was from a business background.

On recruitment part, Alot of us were able to secure summer internship with the likes of AXA, VISA, and several others before the covid pandemic even with our non business background/experiences.

I'm not disputing your point that work experience boost chances in business school, but just clearing it out that it's not a sole requirement of excelling in business school.

Anyone who has a clear MBA goal is adviced to try with or without business background or experiences.
This is very insightful, I got admitted to 3 MBA programs but with funding and covid uncertainties. Would really like to connect if you don’t mind.

Hi Guys

Trust we’re staying safe.

What do you think is the employment or job outlook after an MBA in the US, especially if it’s from an AACSB accredited program but not necessarily the customary top 100 business school.

This is in comparison to say an MS in business analytics. Does location or sates play a role?

I’d very much appreciate responses from people who’ve had experiences. Gracias.
To provide some context. I’m weighing up the option of either an MBA from BGSU, Texas Tech or Angelo State to an MS Business Analytics from University of South Dakota or maybe schools of similar rankings.

Hello everyone

Special thanks to all who give very vital information freely, you’re a blessing.

Is there anyone who got admitted to Raws business school at Texas Tech. I need to know how they got funding, especially GA. I just got admitted to the StemMBA. I’m aware of the college scholarship, but haven’t been informed about whether I’m offered.

The Graduate Assistant that I’ve been communicating with didn’t offer enough useful. Is there a way to apply to other departments for assistantships?

Thanks for your anticipated response.
The program coordinator responded that the college doesn’t offer GA for masters student. Any suggestions on how I can get a GA from other colleges or departments would be highly appreciated.

Congrats bro, your best bet is to engage your grad coordinator to know if you are being considered for funding ans also if the department has internal GA positions to fill. Also don't forget to check https://www.bgsu.edu/graduate/graduate-assistantships/available-graduate-assistantships.html to see positions you would be interested in applying to. Cheers!
Thanks for the response bro. I already applied to one of the available positions in the link you shared.
