They say that information is the new gold in this era, but for me, I believe it's the use of the info gotten that matters, hence the topic.

I've been thinking, how do people who work in the oil and gas get in? what did they do differently? I always see graduate trainee links but I'm not a graduate trainee I am an experienced hire, although not in oil and gas but I still apply and haven't been successful. Please if you have idea how one can have access to these organization even as a contract staff. just drop it. Help humanity!

I also think it's easier to access as an engineer or field worker but more difficult for people in operations.

pls your input is needed

EXICON:
A few years ago, many Nigerian accountants believed that getting an international accounting job meant relocating abroad, spending huge money on visas, or knowing someone “at the top.”

Today, things have changed.

Smart Nigerian accountants are now working remotely for companies in the UK, US, Canada, UAE, and Europe — right from Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Enugu, or anywhere with stable internet access.

And the interesting part?

Many of these accountants are not necessarily the “most connected” people. They simply learned how the remote job market works and positioned themselves correctly.

If you’re an accountant in Nigeria wondering how others are landing remote jobs that pay in dollars, this article will open your eyes.

Why Foreign Companies Are Hiring Nigerian Accountants

International companies are actively searching for skilled remote professionals because remote work has become normal globally.

For accounting roles, companies care more about:

Accuracy
Communication
Reliability
Software skills
Ability to meet deadlines

Not your physical location.

Nigerian accountants are increasingly attractive because many are:

Fluent in English
Technically skilled
Adaptable
Cost-effective compared to Western hires
Experienced with global accounting standards

This is why remote accounting opportunities are quietly increasing every year.

The Types of Remote Accounting Jobs Nigerians Are Getting

You don’t need to own a big accounting firm before getting hired internationally.

Many Nigerians are getting roles such as:

Bookkeeper
Accounts payable specialist
Accounts receivable assistant
Payroll assistant
Financial analyst
Tax support assistant
Virtual accountant
QuickBooks/Xero specialist
Audit assistant
Administrative finance assistant

Some work part-time.
Some freelance.
Others earn full monthly salaries in dollars.

The Skills That Are Making the Difference

Foreign companies are not only looking for certificates anymore.

They want accountants who can work digitally.

Some of the most valuable skills right now include:

Microsoft Excel
QuickBooks
Xero
Sage
Payroll management
Financial reporting
Data entry accuracy
Communication skills
Time management
Basic business analysis

Even accountants with strong traditional accounting knowledge often struggle because they haven’t learned modern remote work systems.

That’s why smart professionals are upgrading themselves early.

Most Nigerian Accountants Are Applying the Wrong Way

One major reason many people never get remote jobs is simple:

They apply randomly.

Some people send the same CV everywhere without optimizing it for international employers.

Others don’t even know:

How to structure a remote-job CV
How to write winning proposals
Where to find verified remote accounting jobs
How to stand out against global competition

Remote job hunting is different from traditional Nigerian job applications.

You need a strategy.

The Smart Move Many Accountants Are Making

Instead of guessing, many Nigerian accountants are now learning:

How to position themselves for international remote roles
How to create professional remote-ready CVs
How to optimize LinkedIn profiles
How to pass remote interviews
How to use accounting software employers expect
Where to consistently find foreign remote opportunities

The accountants getting results are treating remote work like a skill — not luck.

You Don’t Need to Wait Until You “Know Everything”

A lot of talented Nigerian accountants delay themselves because they think they need:

10 years experience
ACCA before applying
Perfect English
Connections abroad

That’s not always true.

Many companies simply want someone dependable who can deliver accurate work consistently.

The key is positioning yourself properly and understanding how the international remote market works.

The Opportunity Is Bigger Than Most People Realize

The dollar advantage alone can completely change someone’s financial situation.

Even a modest remote accounting role paying:

$300/month
$500/month
$1000/month

Can become life-changing when converted to naira.

That’s why more Nigerian professionals are now actively transitioning into remote work.

And accounting remains one of the strongest fields for remote opportunities because businesses everywhere need financial management.

Final Thoughts

Remote accounting jobs are no longer “future opportunities.”

They are happening right now.

Nigerian accountants who understand digital tools, remote work systems, and international job positioning are already benefiting from this shift.

The question is whether you’ll position yourself early enough to benefit too.

so how best can one position for remote the accounting role, because you just dropped lot of stories here but no way forward.

Save money, learn a skill like Mathlab, Aspen Hysys, Drilling, well engineering, valve fittings and etc from any oil servicing company, do some oversabi, and be good, they retain you after your training, build capacity and experience, trust me, in 2years time, you will hit the big companies. This method, worked for 3 person i know. Though I studied chemical engineering, and currently in beverage industry, i wish to be in the oil sector

I commend the fact that you're willing to chase your passion nd dream of becoming a lecturer.

By the way, you're very brilliant... Have considered working in the Oil and Gas industry and will you be willing to relocate to PH?

Please what does it mean to see a very big bump/cyst on someone’s head in a dream?

Remember, the wh0re above shouldn't be replied to.

Coming from someone who’s married and probably has a daughter .

Do better man

This guy, you’re so pained and bitter and it seems women have dealt you a hard blow in this your life. Going through your thread I just read bitterness and pain in your words.

Men and women are very different and unique no doubt . God who made them knows why he did that. Learn to live happy and free. It’s still from a woman that’s “disgusting” at an age, that’s t valueless at some point (from your write up) that you came from, and it’s still from her that humans will keep multiplying.

You can do better Mann!!

Ps: so every level headed man that reasons away from the way you do is considered a simp

You should check yourself

Good day.
Please I have 3dreams I’ll love you to interpret for me.
I can’t really remember the first, but I think I was in captive and I escaped

The second one, I was in a moving keke with other people , suddenly, we saw a lion in front of us, preventing us from moving, it was fiercely coming towards us as the keke was dodging it , then another keke came in front of us and ours now followed it immediately and escaped.

The third one , I think I was in prison/captive with some people , I wasn’t happy in there and next I saw myself trying to escape and I escaped from there and ran away.
Please what does these dreams mean?

Please help me interpret this dream.

I saw myself in my secondary school, with a friend that was a surgeon in the dream. She was kinda treating people upstairs and told me to lie down somewhere that she’ll attend to me soon. As I was lying down, I burped and vomited an organ of the body, it felt like my heart+ kidney together, I asked a doctor seated closed to me and he said it wasn’t an organ. When I looked closely at the thing, it looked like a cream container with kidney attached to it , I was baffled because I’ve never done an operation so how comes something like that was in my body? After a while , when the lady surgeon came to me. I showed her and what we saw on the container that I vomited was . The “blood of Jesus” written on the body , with the blood kind of dripping from the container. Then she told me that I was healed and I can go. As I was going, some of my school mates shouted , that I shouldn’t leave my albino husband ooo, as I heard that I started running ,and it turned out that the man/boy was running after me. When we got to an empty space, another girl blocked him and I turned back and told him, that’s his wife and I woke up.

I also dreamt where a close pal who has court case , went in for it and when he came out he was indifferent, they said his case has been transferred to another court and that he should be happy because it’s almost over .

Please what does these 2dreams mean

?

Sorry for the late response,
Have u ever had dreams whereby you make love to a person before in the dream?

Long time ago

yinkaadesegha:
Please I don't get a particular pronoun you are using... "YOU" are u referring to me? I don't get it, I will like you to be more explicit please. Bless you

My husband is narrating his dream to me here, so you and I here refers to ( me and my hubby)

My husband had this dream.
In my dream I saw myself, in a house it was mine, I saw my old friend , you and I where in the room you where playing and asking us to make love I told you to wait , and we had a knock on the door, My old friend came in and gave me a chalk in black nylon bag, I took it to the sitting room to keep ,while I was walking out I saw him giving you a sign of his coming back, I really thought I didn't see him but I did, he then went out witb me, when I was coming back to the room, I saw myself at the gate of the house, two ladies where standing and looking at me I feel I had seen them before so I decided to wave at them them, then I came inside an old woman and an old man where trying to block the road for me or slow me down form coming in, I pushed myself in and walked to the room on opening the door I saw my old friend and you making out I got so angry and pushed him I turned him upside down, and we got into a big fight you stood there watching I asked him why, why do doing this to my wife he looked at me and said she is my wife not yours, I said it's not so I married her well, she is my wife, he said I told you before you married her, I said our marriage is on the alter of God, and we are one don't ever come to my wife again, but I seem to know him his same man I fought with before our marriage with two ladies tall, and dark short lady, he told me how will you marry her form prison I pushed him and I got up shouting in the cell.

Please what does this dream mean?

This governor has succeeded in sending that state 10 times backward. I hope the next governor revives the state and not give us another line of “hoping on God”.
