Papertrail11:
the nigerian univ commission is just being smart by half by this descksion I will back this up with some claims.
one of the reasons why I feel strongly the nigerian university system is not Inspiring enough is cos the british university curriculum dosent bring out enough creativity compared to the american system american. ive been exposed to the american so I knw wat am talkn about.
univeristies with american roots dobt have time for this list explain define kind of efucation with long unending theories that will make yu stare at time in class that when is this ill forsaken class going to finish it brings out the best in you it carries along the weak aaand the brightest of students in class trhough rigourous adventorous learning examples, class groupings et al.
that is why some students who come outta naija unis feel like the are still not equipped enough or they didnt learn enough

I was speakn to a friend from babcock uni he studied an it related major he aparently told me he dosent know how to fully program and hees just learning the basics was like yu shittn?

this is somthing students in yankee can do berra I mean dey can reverse engineer malware and do some heavy loaded programming

another reason why I looove yankee standard of education is cos they break things down an instructor would come to class explain a conecpt or a subject mattter even though you dont fully get it no problem but by the time yu read the mooodle where yu have class notes and read from the internet yu will get it fully

but nigerian univ a private shitty christian one I went to lecturers still dictate notes to student and d students write on their notes
whereas lecturers in public schools explain and students are implored to go read from libraries and d lecturers note and yu can get a full grasp of what you talking about.....

my adv is for Nigerian univ commission is to change our cirrculum from british to american and stop issuing licenses to religious bodies to build and erupt university cos they have no business in the educational sector except their support.
moreover univ education is never profitable anywhere

ask atiku who was quoted to saying even the school fees paid in millions cannot pay for fuel to run the uni for a whole semester!

in
You need to control the bitterness bros . . .
Public schools hardly have libraries, laboratories, or lecturers on ground. How can you then say those trash?

is not about quantity but about quality lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed
Go tell that to the public unis or do you want private unis to merge? Public unis are of lower quality here.

Exactly, even me sef, I did not go to computer school, or study any computer related course, and yet i can code in several languages. No big deal at all.
The Facebook dude is/was successful (even compared to some of code-red programmers on the list), that is what counts.
People like to talk about not studying computer related course but even those who did study computer related course hardly havd any advantage going into the world.

While the OP's speculative imagination were going on, don't forget that Billions of dollar was being looted via subsidy, election campaign, arms purchase, rice and sugar waivers, security contracts, and regular stealing. If truly Jonathan had a case against Tinubu and Buhari, why was his NSA caught transferring N2.1bn to Dokpesi for propaganda against them? Politicians are sly being we need to "use brain" when supporting and empathizing with them.

Is rice and sugar critical industries? That made it hard to develop home grown rice and sugarcane which ordinary shouldn't be hard
Are you minding those dumb folks? By critical industries, we should be referring to machineries and equipments that aren't produced locally. Raw materials and finished products like rice and sugar are in no way part of critical industries.

Don't mix up libraries and frameworks. Carousels, Accordions etc.... Libraries do that

So using Libraries that makes work easier, eg JQuery doesn't mean you are using a Framework
Oga, my own understanding of librarier and framework hitherto is such that, framework can have libraries in its composition( as components or building blocks). Example is the popular java language framework Spring that has some unique libraries. I might be wrong though.
Programming › Re: Frameworks Dont Make Sense by Sibrah: 7:14pm On Dec 11, 2016
My understanding tells me they make things alot easier. Bootstrap as a web frontend framework for example gives u alot of options out of the box. I can't imagine myself building a carousel, grid system, tab, accordion, form styles from scratch.
Programming › Re: Why Always Web. by Sibrah: 7:02pm On Dec 11, 2016
To me web app = website and web app != website.
It is hard to prove or disprove.
Websites are like apps that serve pages to users, the fact that a web service on the server(hardware) that grants us the request isn't programmed by us makes it invincible to us most times. One the other hand web apps can be build to serve pages alone.

To me webapps should be anything that has various user level and provide more functions asides serving of info. I might be wrong because I just summarized my random understanding gathered over my short programming career.

To some person, any dynamic website is a web app.

I'm tempted to ask if this is the best person we're able to push forward from the east to become a federal minister. Yet we say we want to have the presidency, who would give it to us, with such mo.rons as our leaders.
Last last, I'm seriously ashamed to be identified in the same profession as Ngige, I need to verify if he is still licensed. He can't be.

Programming › Re: Why Always Web. by Sibrah: 3:24pm On Dec 11, 2016

i notice we are good but not professionals in business, how will somebody come to this section and call another programmer names, that action has great danger to this programming section, companies will no longer see us as trustworthy programmers and let us also have good communication with our client
.
Some weeks back I did sample some frequent monikers on this section of NL and found out that most of them have no webpage(s) sampling their works/portfolio attached to their profiles. By now it should be a standard practice for those of us who want to meet up with clients here.
By now NL programming and webmasters section should be a place for people to safely and anonymously get small jobs and build confidence.
The issue of bragging and name calling you raised is also correct. Lots of people do it out of their effort in trying to out-sell others. IT folks generally play dirty . . .
Programming › Re: Why Always Web. by Sibrah: 3:17pm On Dec 11, 2016
The web will continue to attract more attention as all OS support web interface. If you implement an app in any of the popular languages and decide not to give a web interface for client access then you have to always support every client device(s) as well as install the client module for every new OS.
In the case web interface, all the clients needs to access a server side web app is a internet browser.

node js is a runtime environment for server side JavaScript based on V8 engine.
Do you think the people you referred to in your first post can easily digest that definition of yours? It may be right but it is still too vague.

Wait, are you even a developer at all or a learner - so that i know where to take up your case. If you are a learner/noob, i will free you ELSE we might have to start a WAR here (because the situation calls for one).

My first question for you is - can you or can you not see how people are mis-representing and murdering php and node.js on this thread (i code well in both languages, and i find it very shocking).
If they are murdering it and getting a runtime environment mixed up with a server, you as an experienced person should bail them out. These things are hard to grasp. Not everybody started learning programming at the age of 15. Some people read art and business related courses in school and are only trying to learn programming here . . .

Jes like saying php is a server on its own, as you can invoke a php like server using php-cli php -S host:port command.
So what's nodejs according to you?

go to your village chief, ask him for his e-well, and jump into it, in case one cannot contain you, well, you can always dig two.
What you are saying isn't so funny. I never said I dislike the person showing off but the act itself. What's is wrong in you telling them what they are missing. I go to StackOverflow and see people ask simple question without getting bashed aimlessly. I wonder when Naija developers will see limitations in their solo mentality.
