alabashop: What I see is quest for power just for it's sake, even if it means dining with the devil and foolishly against your own interest.if I may ask ,what happened to the Yoruba agelong agenda of a truly Federalist Nigeria. Why did the Jagaban go into the APC alliance without putting it on the front burner.? GEJ may not have appointed many Yoruba persons into positions of power, but he organized A National Conference that could have helped realize the Yoruba agenda. With the conference reports, GEJ could be bullied to see to it's full implementation, but with PMB in power and the Kaduna Mafia behind him,the Yoruba/South agenda will never be realized. Example: the bill to give Lagos a special status was thrown out from the Senate, but in a truly federal State,Lagos will never need that but will continually flourish. National Conference? |

Most important thing Tinubu did, to me, is him standing in the gap for the voiceless masses at party primaries to present better candidates. What's the probability of Fashola, Adeosun, Ajimobi, Fayemi, Kayemo, Ogboru, and others in APC ever making it to the seat of power? Remember how PDP was before they were kicked out of southwest. |

Buhari has impacted all stated points above. Food, clothing, shelter, transport, communication, security, social amenities. It will take a discerning mind to appreciate the progresses made so far. While the level of impact isn't the very best expected of Buhari/Osinbanjo yet, it is there already. Food - He cleared backlogs of fertilizer debt that was stalling production from farmers. We all know crops don't grow in a week or two. Transport: We are familiar with the backlog of arrears carefully incurred for Buhari's admin and how he cleared it. In late 2015 Buhari cleared N400B+ in arrears owed to oil marketters in a single transaction. Road Isn't left out. We are aware of Fashola's effort regarding this. The Osinbanjo statements regarding state of road project inherited too comes to mind. Communication too has benefited largely from availability of fuel. We saw how GSM communication masts were short down in not too distant past when there was scarcity. Clothing: We import most of clothes actually, but the local fabric (material) makers aren't going out of business in the face of melt down. Shelter: under Fashola's care I haven't heard much but then housing construction isn't commatose. Exchange rate affects it less. Security: No explanation for this one. Education:The last few years was characterized by proliferation in number of higher institutions at state and federal level. What people may not have realized is the recurrent cost of running these schools are heavy and are have largely been serviced by the FG. State who mismanaged their oil fund windfall raided the FG and were bailed out with scarce fund with which they paid workers. Imagine the No of states that would have been on strike without the bail outs. |

989900D: You are wasting your time talking to people who know zilch about Foreign reserves, depletion, appreciation, or any other thing for that matter, than attack Buhari senselessly. It is not everything you can blame Buhari for even though the man has his shortcomings -- actually one of his shortcomings is 'over-saving' the reserves in lieu of doing a little more for the Naira and the economy. Imagine growing the ECA in the face of reduced production and oil price.
Folks you are replying to, know next to nothing about these things -- stop wasting your time with nut-heads. They think it is govt's job to feed them. |

hungryboy: Oga Op, Na so people like una dey tell fail exam, PDP created Boko Haram, Yet it refused negotiating the release of Chibok girls with Goodluck? And started releasing some of the girls when Apc got into power, Bokoharam were destroying whole villages under PDP and frequently bombed motorparks and mosques, but ever since Apc got into government, Boko haram has toned down their bombing campaign, Last we heard, Shekau was dethroned because he was calling for more attacks, And El Barnawi was brought in to replace him because he was open to the option of releasing those girls. Apc even get Boko Haram on speed dial See as dem just give order, and Boko Haram start release some girls. Which of the PDP factions? |

progress69: U are very ignorant and have zero knowledge of what u are talking about.
Let me quickly give u little education.
OBJ left a reserve of $42bn which was later grown to $65bn by Yaradua. That is what wr call savings
Now when there was global reccession, the CBN fel back to the national reserves to defend the Naira and economy which led to a depletion of nearly 50%. Even after this, the Naira lost more than 20% of its value.
Oil later rose above $100/barrel and remained so for over 2 years, but there was no savings.
The past President left a Paltry $30bn in the reserves, with oil selling below $50/barrel.
Now no money to defend the economy or Naira, as trying to is tantamount to depleting your reserves. The reserves is simply going down because of calculated attempts by CBN to intervene in the FX market.
Oil sells below $50/barrel and terrorists bomb pipelines, so there is no means to grow the reserves.
As long as CBN keeps intervening in the FX market, the reserves wil keep dropping I will update some of my early post and show that at the rate GEJ was depleting it in 2014, the reserves would av been near zero by now. |

Dats all I respect Tinubu the party man who gave the helpless masses hope by choosing good candidates during primaries but this tax obsession of his is very wrong. I read some of his opinion articles in papers and can tell you Tinubu shares alot of the sentiments Utomi expressed here. sarrki: .You can't be follower of ideas if the said person
In question does not have anything upstairs
So the two goes hand in hand
Pari persu Must ideas be tied to people? Even if a good and a bad idea are both tied to same person(s), the followers should be able to stand behind the good ideas and point out the bad ones constructively. |
