I didn't see him. I dont think he's around. He came last year during Ramadan, though.

^I was at the event but my phone messed up big time. I couldn't even take the pics of Dr Naik at a very close range before he entered the car because my phone decided to switched off.

After Dr Naik delivered the lecture, he entertained questions. A confused sister that was once a Muslim before she coverted to christianity took the Shahada again. A christian brother (an Igbo from his name) also took the Shahada.

I only gave suggestion too, it doesnt have to be followed/done. I said that to avoid some questions that might be asked by some people.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Dr Zakir Naik At National Stadium Surulere Sat & Sun June 15th & 16th by siddiq202(m): 10:50pm On Jun 15, 2013
I got this online and thought of posting it here

The following are some of the questions asked by the audience and answered by Dr.Zakir Naik in his lecture today in Lagos:

1. I am Evangelist Isang who has been winning Muslims for Christ. My question goes thus; two men are seeking the forgiveness of Allah. One performs the ablution properly and prays but not sincerely, he goes backs to sin. The other is so eager to repent and as a result forgets to perform Ablution, observe solah and prays to Allah. Won't Allah accept his prayer? #Evangelist Isang
Answer: Allah will not hold any man accountable for an act of forgetfulness. But if He deliberately left ablution before solah, then Allah will not accept it. Allah pardons the one that forgets just as he pardons the man who consumes food or water during Ramadan due to forgetfulness.

2. I don't agree with all that you have been saying, I would like us to have a dialogue/ debate. Would you like to? #Evangelist Isang
Answer: This is the time for questions and not debate. And I believe I have answered your questions. You have nothing else to offer except that you are seeking fame and popularity.

3. In the Qur'an it is mentioned that the Muslim men SPECIFICALLY will get rewards in Aljanah such as Virgin women, wine etc but, nowhere is it mentioned that the Muslim women will receive anything. Can you tell us if there will be any reward at all for Muslim women? #Korede(uncerta in about the name)
Answer: Yes, there is. In one of the Hadith reported by Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her), it was stated that the People of Paradise will receive what the eyes have never seen, what the hears have never heard... This hadith also applies to the rewards of women in Aljanah.
*But, the questionnaire later went forward to say that Zakir Naik did not answer his question because Zakir Naik failed to give him any verse in the Qur'an to back up his claim. Response: We Muslims believe in Allah and his Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). In several Ayats of the Qur'an Allah had ordered us Obey Him and his Messenger. The Hadith is the authentic saying and practice of the last Messenger Muhammad. As Muslims one can't believe in the Qur'an without necessarily believing in the Hadith. A true believer must believe in both. And since the hadith is authentic then it is enough evidence. Besides where Allah had mentioned the rewards of Aljannah, it doesn't specifically mean that is only Men that will receive such rewards.

4. Muhammad (SAW) is mentioned only 5 times in the Qur'an but Jesus (ASW) is mentioned 25 times. Who is greater? It is definitely Jesus. #AnonymousChris tian lady
Answer: The Qur'an was revealed to Muhammad (SAW). In some verses Allah narrated the stories of the predecessors of Muhammad such as the story of Isa (Jesus) and Musa Moses (may Allah's blessing be upon them all). If you are to narrate the story of a third party (absent) to someone present, it is most likely that the 3rd party's name will come up more frequently than that of the listener. Since Muhammad was the one been narrated the story to, it accounts for why Jesus name was more frequently stated. Besides Moses name was mentioned over 100 times in the Qur'an, then from your claim it means Moses is even greater than Jesus.

5. Can one respond to the greeting of happy Christmas just as you respond to the greeting of teslim. I.e Happy christmas, reply with happy christmas or same to you. Answer: No, you can't. Christmas as believed by the Christians is the birth of Jesus (their acclaimed god) . Since us Muslims believe that Jesus (peace be upon him) is a Messenger of Allah and not God nor His son. A reply to the greeting will mean that we believe in that which they believe and that is haram.

The Questions and answers are summarized, not totally quoted word for word...

Then why were Christians invited if he couldn't answer some questions or debate with them?

Although I didn't attend today's edition, but I'm sure his question(s) would have been answered if he ask. But he chose to debate. And mind you, he can't just grant every Ada, Ade and Adamu chance to debate with. Like Tbaba1234 said, the person needs to know his 'onions' cheesy

probsolver: @sidiq, yes isang and korede lawoyin both of dem were there, who are they?

Like I said, they are just wannabies. You need to see the way they rant on facebook, they can't have a civil debate without resolving to abuse and mockery.

Once again, I like the conditions been given to them. Dr. Zakir Naik is known world wide, if they need publicity (cos that's what they want) they should find 20,000 audience shikena

Mr anony:
Does it matter if Isang is an apologist or not? What matters is the Truth. If Zakir Naik has it he should be willing to defend it instead of giving irrelevant conditions.

Any idiot can impress people who are already converted. To test whether he really knows his onions, he should debate against some unbelievers formally.

This is the reason why I have much more respect for people like Shabir Ally than Zakir Naik

@Bold
I guess this is the first time you are hearing of Dr Zakir Naik.

Nothing much to add really, Probsolver has answered you.

Not every muslim was banned from fasting. Only students under 18yrs. Its probably for health reasons
Its strange when you think about it, in China children are exempted while in islamic countries like Iran they are flogged to death for eating during ramadan.

Madam Doctor, tell us the "health reasons" for stopping all 17 years old children from fasting.

probsolver: This question and answer is very hot. The non muslims are asking questions now.

One of d non muslims Evangelist Isang said dr zakir shd come for debate and he said he is very ready on d condition that the pastor is a world known person and can gather at least 20,000 people. So challenge to non muslim dr zakir challenge u to debate him.

I know Isang and Korede will definitely be there.

I like the condition Dr Zakir Naik gave him because he's a wanna be apologist

What will they say is the reason not to allow them fast if they want to?

Yes, the media affects the minds of people and many build wrong perceptions,

I was reciting the Quran in my office once (during ramadan) and one of my colleagues (a venezuelan) walked in, you could see the fear on her face.. grin

grin grin grin

On a serious note, you are very correct. You can imagine someone that has never in his entire life do a research about Islam on his own will be shouting 72 virgins anytime he reads that some people are using the name of Islam to carry out atrocities.
