The University of Ibadan is a public research university in Ibadan, Nigeria. The university was founded in 1948 as University College Ibadan, one of many colleges within the University of London.

A teacher in a private school in Abraka, Delta state, Ezeugo Joseph, has died after he was allegedly beaten to death by one of his students on Thursday, December 2.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Bright Edafe, said the suspect, Micahel Ogbeise, an SS3 student of the school, attacked the teacher for flogging his younger sister, Promise.

''The suspect confronted the teacher because he flogged his younger sister. He blew the teacher, beating him up and the teacher collapsed. The teacher was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead'', the PRO said.

DSP Edafe said the suspect and his parents are currently at large as they have all fled their apartment while the sister, Promise, is currently in protective custody.

A Nigerian student simply known as Kate has shared a story of heartbreak and exploitation by her boyfriend who she has broken up with, Siggy reveals.

In a video making rounds online, the girl who was with her friend, spoke during a street chat.

She was asked who cheats more between men and women, and without batting an eyelid, she said men.

Kate then narrated how she visited her boyfriend two days ago and he asked her to wash the plates, clean the room and even wash his bedsheets.

She, however, did not realise that she was doing all that because he wanted to entertain another girl.

Kate paid her boyfriend a visit later, only to find another lady there and they were having a romantic moment.

According to her, they also prepared banga soup and happily consumed it.

Disturbing videos show final moments of Dowen college student, 12, who died after allegedly being tortured by his classmates for refusing to join cult, Siggy reports.

According to the cousin:, This was the state of Sylvester junior before he died. He couldn’t raise a leg or an arm.

In a video posted online, the now-deceased student can be seen with bruised lips and was also being carried around as he was unable to move on his own.

This comes after the school management released a statement yesterday, Thursday, December 2 denying claims that the student was beaten because he refused to be initiated into a cult.

According to the statement, the student only fractured his hips during a game of football and was released to his parents for further treatment.

Before he passed on, the student was said to have mentioned names of some of the students who were behind the attack, an allegation the school vehemently denied, maintaining that it was a faith-based school.

Nigerians are now questioning the authenticity of the claims made by the school, with many pointing out that a fractured hip couldn’t have caused so much damage.

Officers of the Lagos state Police Command on Wednesday, allegedly arrested three uniformed members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC in the state.

According to an eyewitness identified as David @themccoyman on Twitter, some officers whisked away the corp members who were in a Mercedes Benz outside at the venue for their community Development Service (CDS). Eti-Osa Local Government office, Lagos.

He revealed that the dramatic incident happened in seconds, and the officers attempted to drive away with the Benz but were stopped.

He also said they were able to secure the release of two of the corp members.

David, in a follow-up tweet, said that the third NYSC member was eventually released upon intervention from other corp members.

Sharing a photo, he wrote;

”Supposed police officers just kidnapped three uniformed “corpers”, on CDS day, in front of the Local Government Office at Eti-Osa, Lagos. We were able to immediately recover two of them but one is still missing. All of this happened in seconds, in broad day light!

Hours later, he added;

Please, this kidnapped corper has since been released. Well done to everyone who stood gallant this morning. Shocking event though. All my fingers are pointed to the Nigerian Police Force and a certain peace-loving Governor.

No, I will not refer to this as an arrest. It was a kidnap.

These corpers were sitting peacefully in their Benz. They were suddenly surrounded by men (in regular clothes) who pointed a gun at them and yanked them from said Benz.

Their offence? “Why is a corper driving a Benz?”

The video has since vanished from social media. All efforts by Siggy to get the video from a source has proven abortive as she says she had been warned gravely to bring the video down.

While Nigerian stars, Falz, Seun Kuti and comedian Mr Macaroni have rejected Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's offer to join him on a peace walk this December, students of the Lagos State University (LASU) have assured the Governor that he has their full support and they will walk with him.

They made this statement on Thursday after the Governor commissioned the newly built students arcade LASU main campus in Ojo, Lagos state.

The LASU students Arcade is the largest Student Union Building in any Nigerian tertiary institution.

Sanwo-Olu, while reacting to the recent findings of the #EndSARS Judicial Panel of Inquiry set up to investigate cases of police brutality in the State as well as the tragic shooting of protesters at the Lekki toll gate on the 20th of October, 2020, had invited key campaigners to join him on a peace walk for some time in December.

An American woman identified as Carey Joy has warmed the heart of many after she married Kenyan man named Albert Wanyonyi in 2018 despite him being a primary school dropout, Siggy reports.

Wanyonyi, a Kenyan man from Bungoma had said he fell in love with Carey who is a US missionary, although the language barrier was their main challenge.

During a recent interview with TV 47, the mother of two disclosed she has four academic degrees in different fields, one of them being Economics.

Carey also said God revealed to her that Wanyonyi, a boda boda (motorbike) rider who dropped out in primary 2, was her anointed husband and therefore she doesn’t care about him being uneducated.

In her words: “As he was introducing himself, God spoke to me and said, this is your husband and that’s why you never found the right one back at home”.

The woman said she enjoys living with her husband in his village in Bungoma. During the course of their being together, she had to learn Swahili.

Carey further revealed that before she learnt the language, they used to communicate through feelings and signs.

It has been reported that a 15-year-old opened fire at his Michigan high school on Tuesday, killing three students, including a 16-year-old boy who died in a deputy’s patrol car on the way to a hospital,

A purported video from the incident shows that the oxford school shooter pretended to be a sheriff to try and lure students out of the classroom.

"Sheriff’s office, you can come out," the gunman appears to say, as those inside the classroom exchange glances, refusing to open the door.

"We’re not willing to take that risk right now," one student responded, while another suggested the person on the outside of the door using the word "bro" was a "red flag".

After the exchange, students escaped from the classroom out of a window.

The Oyo State Government has suspended a female student of Jericho High School, Ibadan, for alleged assault on a colleague, teachers and parents.

The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Rahman Abiodun Abdu-Raheem made this known after a meeting with key Education stakeholders in Ibadan on Tuesday, November 30.

Recall that Siggy reported that the student in company of her mother invaded the school premises with hefty thugs and miscreants; assaulting a male student, teachers and other parents during an ongoing PTA meeting.

“The mayhem was said to be ignited by the girl’s mother and other accomplices, thereby, causing tension in the school. The state government is taking further action, to serve as deterrent to other unguided parents and wards,” he said.

He appealed for caution, emphasizing that the present government has zero tolerance for impunity, while charging students, parents and all stakeholders to take advantage of Governor Seyi Makinde’s free qualitative education programs.
