I noticed something, none of them had "yellow" shoulder tags.

Even d award winning cadet officers for "SSC" who, normally are under Ashanti, also didn't wear "yellow" shoulder tags. It kept me wondering, if dey had given dis excellent SSC cadet anoda battalion to go into.
the ones that got the awards had cadet appointments.. so they wore their ranks instead of the yellow bars

The question is are SSC amongst those cadets doing the silent drill? Because the way I dey take see the silent drill, I see it as something that will take more than 9 months to perfect it. Its a drill that you must learn by heart and mind. The drill no be child play at all.

If we are been sincere, most of us get objective, e pass this passion of a thing. Some of us its the pride of wearing a uniform, some to brag, some to toast, some to oppress others e.t c. Its easier said than done, once u enter within 10 years the job for don tire u.
10 years keh.. you know how many SSC officers disappear from service after 2/3/4 years in the job..

Gbam, they are just here shouting not for the money or power, why not just tell them not to pay you at all or go and join the RRI. the passion only cums in with time but for now deep down, you are all going in for the money and power involved
i ask you again, which money? It’s obvious many of us have not worked at all and if we have, not worked a good paying job.. that’s why you think there’s “money” in the army..
My first job after I left nysc was with the Vice Presidents office in Abuja.. there was money and the ID card was power..ID card that’ll grant me access into halls when captains would be sitting outside..
so I ask you again, which money?

We should stop decieving ourselves..What was our initial reason for sponsoring ourselves to higher Institutions? or why did our parents sponsored us to higher Institutions? Was it out of attainment of good living..I have ratings in the Nigerian Navy that are holders of ND and HND respectively... What are we now saying... It's high time we started considering some of the lapses in our country.. Wether Army,Navy and Airforce everything still revolves around what you get in returns for ur selfless service
First thing, nobody would do it for free because we expect returns for work done, but it’s not the major reason why most of the people I know want to enlist.. the army sometimes lives in the poorest of conditions.. take ikeja cantonment for example.. Nepal has cut their light... they only have light for 2 hours everyday for the last 3 months..what’s the use of the money then? It is a call to serve first! Service rendered requires payment.. so it’s not first about the money, because there’s really no money there if we must be honest.. my younger sister that’s a devops engineer earns what a major earns and she’s just 22.

My own is if you join the military for money, you’ll bring yourself out.. my cousin in the navy and I were having a discussion last week about why he hated Nigerian army short service officers so much...mind you he’s a lieutenant in the navy..which is the equivalent of a captain in the Nigerian army..

All these ones wey their problem na money, they will see it.. you go know person wey him own na money.. how much is the 180k?
There are civil jobs that will pay you way more and you won’t have to go through the inhumanity and grief of training.. if you are in tech, I fit plug you to better jobs.. no go waste person slot abeg.
