I saw the game yesterday night. You know what, I told myself this game is highly gonna be controversial. I knew things would go sour but I didn't envisage it was going to be a faulty VAR. I'm just happy it happened between Northern African clubs , it doesn't concern other regions. It is pathetic. I'm pretty sure this kind of brouhaha would happen again during the AFCON tournament.
I heard VAR would only be used during the knockout phase. Like seriously? What stops them from making it effective from these African club competition? I'm pained that it has to be Africa.

Players do not tell the referee when to review a decision via VAR, the VAR officials do.

So the players had no business trying bullying the ref into going to VAR.
