Learn to be realistic about your new status:- it’s possible that you’re among those that have always believe that parenting is just as normal as every other social challenge, and perhaps you have never taken time to prepare for it. This inevitable task will not only leave you exhausted, but you will also be disappointed about little things that you otherwise should have known.

Especially within the first two years of having your first baby: a period that you’d be amazed by the kind of changes that will take place in both your social life, sleep pattern among others.

Have you also been thinking that your baby will not be the type that will do nasty things, disobey your suggestions, make you restless or even make the house very untidy with a mess of that very delicious meal that almost all babies do at home? Then you’re not been realistic about your parenting skill. This is because a child will always be a child to accomplish the required milestone.

You must love your baby in a way as not to place your career above him or her. Loving your child however does not imply that they must get whatever they want, just as your restriction of their actions should not emphasize much on climbing and jumping on things, getting soiled with dirt that you think will make them contact germs. The truth is that these activities help the child’s developmental process.

All that may be required is for you to have a good knowledge of First Aid so that you can help them ease the pain on a minor home accident that may occur.

Always remember that life is not a competition, so your baby must not be like that other child that you use to know. If your baby is sleeping remember to go to bed too; every other thing can wait. That’s the best way of staying healthy for your baby.

If there’s a need for outside help, please do get one because life after childbirth is as hectic as anyone can imagine.

Caring for your Newborn:- unless you have experience on how to carry your baby, you’re definitely going to have a feeling of anxiety that comes from the fact that you wouldn’t want anything to go wrong.

Indeed you’d prefer to have things done the right way, that’s why most persons in their first experience will shudder at the fragile nature of babies.

Before you carry that special baby of yours, do remember to wash your hands, to avoid exposing the baby to germs. As you already know, their immune system is not yet strong. If possible use a hand sanitizer, if you’re not sure of the safety of your hands

Always provide support for your baby’s head and the neck as you carry the baby until their neck is strong enough to hold firmly the head. That’s why their head tends to fall backward or sideways when hand support is not applied. This is very important for babies within the first three months of birth.

Babies are humans that are yet to be fully developed, so you should not shake them if you have to wake them up from sleep, play with them or in anger. More subtle ways of telling them that it’s time to open those lovely eyes include tickling their feet or giving a gentle blow on their cheek.

If you have to move that baby around in a car, taking a walk, etc. make sure the car seat or baby carrier fastener is well in place.

Some other things that parents do to their newborn out of ignorant include throwing them in the air and shaking their knees for whatever reason.

Babies enjoy vocal sounds, experts say it helps in stimulating hearing, so remember to sing and talk to them. It’s also a fact that some babies are too sensitive to sound or even light, that’s why they would cry when the light is out or at the slightest noise. You have to study all these and try to moderate the environment to suit your baby. Otherwise, the baby may be sleeping fewer hours for instance, when you expect them to have a good sleep.

If you must swaddle your baby, make sure you’re aware of the dos and don’ts about swaddling, which you should learn from the maternal nurses to avoid exposing the baby to the danger that may result thereafter.

Experts also agree that after a month, a baby may not require swaddling if they’re awake so that it does not interfere with their body movement; and by the end of the 2nd month, swaddling should be stopped, to avoid exposing the child to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome(SIDS)

About diapering, babies on average will dirty diapers up to 10 times in every 24hrs, so ensure that you do a regular diaper change. When necessary, allow the baby to go without a diaper to allow the skin to have fresh air; especially if you notice a diaper rash.

Before doing any diaper change, make sure that you have all that is required ready on hand so that the baby is not left unattended at any moment…

What is now the news is that people are more conscious, or even afraid of using the internet, because of the activities of fraudsters. This illegal, ugly and regrettable venture is as old as mankind though. Dependable researches did show that this illicit activity, although found in almost every human society, are carried out in different forms, according to social, political and economic dynamics of the locality; and has evolved over time into a monster known as online Fraud.
The problem of fraudsters, scammers, tricksters, swindlers, and more recently cybercriminals or whatever you choose to call them, is and has remained one of the major concerns of many in recent times. These Unwholesome crooks called online fraudsters, apply very clever tactics to have an undue advantage over their victims by combining old deceptive tricks with new technologies to steal peoples’ money.
The advent of the internet which has made the world a global village has raised more concerns. Questions are now being asked by many who in one way or the other have fallen victims to these fraudsters on the internet. Hence we can talk of internet or web fraudsters. Why We Are Worried About INEC

As the hullabaloo that characterized the 2019 General election seems to be gradually reducing, the legal tussles and accusations has continued to generate enough energy as to make any well-meaning Nigerian, to begin a second line of thought on what actually transpired within and outside the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before, during and after the just concluded 2019 General election in Nigeria.
I remember vividly how sometime in September 2018, the Nigeria media went agog with the news of a proposed INEC budget for the conduct of the 2019 General Election. The very popular opinion then was that the budget being proposed was too high for a nation that is still recovering from the effect of Economic recession that led to the loss of jobs, which threw millions into poverty and thereby making the country a poverty capital of the world.
Recall that it was not until the 10th of October 2018 that the national assembly finally approved the sum of N189 billion supplementary budget for the purpose of the 2019 election. And shortly after the chairman of INEC Prof. Mahmood Yakubu also defended the budgetary estimate, noting that a lot of things has been improved on about the process, compared to that of 2015. I still remember that a total of N134.4 billion, he said was for operational cost, N27.5 billion for Technology/ICT. While N22.6 billion and N4 billion is insurance related and what she called contingencies, respectively.

This approval had come as a sigh of relief for many Nigerians after an initial hide and seeks then between the leadership of the Senate and the presidency. Those of us who were monitoring the development equally agreed with the approval if that was what she required for a free and fair election in the country.
Everything about the Election was looking very good until INEC gave Nigerians the shock of the century, when they woke up that Saturday, to hear that the much awaited Election has been postponed for a week; this ugly news coming few hours to the commencement of the process.
The entire nation stood still, even my Pet Dog that accompanied me to a walkout that day could sense the unusual in the atmosphere. While we were still trying to recover from the anger and frustration, INEC justified the shift, adding also that the rescheduled Election made the Commission to lose the sum of N7 billion, according to Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
Prior to this postponement, we hear rumors of the election being staggered to facilitate victory for a particular party. Some said INEC Database is being Hacked to manipulate the smart card readers. The last time I checked the smart card reader is a device that was configured to keep a record of all cards read: voters verified and those not verified are collected and transmitted to INEC central server via GSM data Services. As interesting as the smart card reader technology is, INEC appeared to have developed cool feet about their own technology, hence was alleged to have collated results manually. This is even more surprising considering the huge amount the commission invested in ICT. Should we say that the essence of the whole smart card reader technology has failed? Maybe not yet; at least let us allow the court to give a verdict on very many legal battles that are ongoing before we conclude on that.
When Prof. Attahiru Jega came up with this laudable technology in the 2015 election, stockholders had applauded it, although, after the said election, it was agreed that the smart card reader technology needed an improvement to correct the reported cases of failure in some locations
A huge number of persons who couldn’t be captured during that election were accommodated by what INEC described as Incident Form, which of course has its own element of controversy. So when INEC 2019 Election team told Nigerians that the Smart card Reader technology has been improved on and as such would not require the incident form in the Election (No-Card-Reader-no-Voting.) It sounded like a sweet sermon in the ears of those who earnestly wanted an election devoid of fictitious voters.
Was that the case during the just concluded election? Your guess is as good as mine. I learned that immediately after that announcement, some powerful persons who were not comfortable with the idea began to question the rationale behind it; as according to them, it can be likened to an electronic voting that is unknown in the Nigeria Constitution, made worse by President Muhammad Buhari’s refusal to sign into law the new electoral act amendment bill.
I still believe that it was this pressure mounted by this group of politicians that made INEC to do a last minute change in plan, as they came up with the idea that those whose fingerprint cannot be captured by the smart card reader, can still vote provided that their names are in the voters register and are certified as the owner of the PVC. In that case, they would be required to put down their phone numbers, in case of litigation, INEC had said.
Perfect idea one would say: if true, this process was strictly observed, it would have been very strange to hear of doctored election result or inflation of vote figures, as being alleged; since very polling unit has a result that makes up a registration area that in turn formed the cumulative of an LGA result. Simple arithmetic abi?
That, as far as I know, appeared not to be the case in INEC 2019 election that we all hear of Kidnaping of electoral officers and rewriting of results. Those who perpetuated this electoral fraud definitely knew that INEC did not mean exactly what they said; at least there would not have been any need to announce a result that does not emanate from the Poling unit. Perhaps they have been advised by their lawyers that INEC has no power to cancel an already declared election result.
Funny enough, INEC is foolishly buying into their narrative, thereby emboldening these political criminals who go to the extent of destroying used electoral material to cover up possible evidence in the law court.
Like a football match, no team can celebrate a win unless the referee blew the final whistle, even if the duration for the match has elapsed. So also, it’s only INEC that can declare a candidate a winner in any election in Nigeria, and the commission should be ready to defend any result been declared in the law court whenever the need arises. So I urge INEC not to play the second fiddle in the Election tribunal but be ready to help the will of justice. If anyone has a contrary opinion on this, he or she should please let me know.

When knowledge meets humility, integrity is born, but integrity alone cannot take one to his or her destination unless it’s backed by divine mandate. How else can we describe a man who became a media sensation recently when the current minister of transport Rt. Hon Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi anointed him as the preferred candidate in Rivers State governorship election.

Before now it’s a known fact that for anyone to win an election in Nigeria, such a person must either be a desperate or money-bag politician. Or still, one who has the so-called blessings of a God-father. None of this is the case for the young and vibrant Engr. Awara Biokpomabo Festus (MNSE), owing to his virtuous upbringing and personal ethics.

No wonder when he told friends and families that he has the vision to change the bartered destiny of Rivers state through good governance, many including those of us, who is in the know of the nature of politics in the country, felt that perhaps he was venturing into what was impossible: a mere “academic exercise” as my lawyer friend would always say.

Little did we know that God was about to manifest his nature in him. Even when he began “The Hope for Rivers” Messages, as part of his divine mandate; political observers in his locality looked the other way; confirming the biblical report of the attitude of the Jews towards Jesus Christ when they learned of his origin and family. But as Jesus Christ himself rightly acknowledged, a prophet might not be regarded in his home town, it, however, would not stop him from accomplishing the divine mandate as in the case of Engr. Awara.

Among his cardinal objectives is to restore, rebrand and recover whatever that might have been stolen by the present greedy politicians in the state. Hence, the “Take it back” campaign slogan

Married to beautiful Christabel Awara, Engr. Awara is a Happy father of two from Kula community in Akuku Toru local government Area of Rivers state. A quick look at his work history revealed that he has served perfectly in the oil and Gas sector, both in an operational and managerial capacity; having acquired his first degree (Bachelor of technology) In Mechanical engineering at Rivers State University of Science and Technology Port Harcourt, and about to obtain his Masters in Engineering Management at the same Rivers State University, which he began sometime in 2016.
Among his many personal desires is to serve humanity and be a role model to many young Nigerians who indeed desired a genuine change for this great nation. Engr. Biokpo, as he is fondly called was born on the 27th of June, 1978, in a modest Christian family that imbued in him the ethical values that today formed the greater part of his personality.
Engr Awara, had his early education (Primary and Secondary) at State School and C.S.S, Kula respectively before proceeding to fulfill his Engineering career dream at the University. He completed the Mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC) in the year 2007, at the Plateau State Ministry of works, Jos Plateau state.
Tell me about a man who has never complained about unemployment in his career journey, I will show you Engr. Awara. Who is not only an employer’s delight but a man who believes in proving his best administratively, whenever the need arises; as can be seen in his short work life, as career Engineer.
Between 2008 and 2011 –Engr. Awara worked at Gredor Nigeria Ltd, Warri and Belema Gas and Oilfield Ltd, Port Harcourt, as Safety officer and Project Coordinator respectively. He later joined Kariboms Ventures, Port Harcourt sometimes in 2011. His excellent track record took him to Chevron Nigeria Limited: South Offshore Area SONAM NAG WELLS PLATFORM, where he gathered enough experience that is now working to his career advantage.

Until recently, when he declared his interest to join the Governorship Race in Rivers state, industrious Engr. Awara while excelling career-wise, ensured that he pursued his master degree program, in other to be in tune with the academic reality of his profession.
Let me not bother you with his numerous oil and gas related training and certifications, including but not limited to his certifications in Advance Health, Safety and Environment courses at the Institute of Safety Professional, Port Harcourt.
He is a member of Nigeria Society of Engineers and also, of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering .in Nigeria (COREN)
when you hear people say who is this man, tell them that he is nobody because he has not been involved in any criminal or financial crime related issues before and that nobody can blow the whistle on him for EFCC to investigate, and as such would not be popular like many corrupt politicians.
It’s not surprising however when Rivers people came out en masse to vote for Engr. Awara Biokpomabo, the AAC Governorship candidate in Rivers State. Those who still in doubt of his leadership strength should wait until he is sworn in as Rivers state Governor.

The Supreme Court has affirmed the judgement
of Justice Chiwendu Nworgu on the congress
conducted by the All Progressives Congress,
APC in Rivers state.
The Supreme Court also addressed the issue of
representation and held that Chinweikpe Chieme
of the Senator Magnus Abe group of the APC is
the legal representative of the APC in the state.
The apex court, therefore, upheld the appeal of
Ibrahim Umar and twenty-two other aggrieved
members of the APC that they were restrained
from participating in the ward, local government
and state congresses of the party.

i just want to inform all those already employed by inec to be careful in the forthcoming election. i have been their two times, but had sworn never to past through that route again. I read this morning that inec has insured all of you:Adhoc staff. Do not be deceived. This three things are basic in any Nigeria election and i think you should know it, base on my personal experience:
1 politicians (both pdp and apc) will offer you money; if you take it, trouble; you refuse it more trouble.
2.Politicians and their thugs will save your life in event of crises:because they know that they have won; Police will not. security agencies is interested only in protecting inec result.
3 in case you have to take side please join the stronger group in your poling unit because "they are on ground". Forget your opinion. below is a poem of lamentation that I wrote after I escaped being murdered in one of the elections that I handled few years ago, in one of the northern states, tittled Me and Election.
