Family › Re: Help!! My Baby Face And Small Stature Are Getting Me Insulted by SirWarlock: 1:38am On Feb 22, 2021 |
Chiminemine: Hello guys. I just received one of the biggest insults of my life today in church.
So I went to church today and along the line, I decided to scroll through NAIRALAND a little bit because the sermon was a little boring. So as I was pressing my phone in peace ohhh, one usher just came to where I sat and taped me. as I looked at her, she stretched her hand out signaling she wanted to sieze my phone. At first I was confused because where I was a lot of people where operating their phones but she didn't approach them. I didn't want to insult her or create a scene so I just lied that I was sending someone an important text. Then she said I should be quick and put out the phone, That if I were in a lecture hall would I use my phone in the presence of the lecturer? So I obliged. I experience similar scenarios a lot in my life and it makes me sad sometimes. Sometimes, teenage boys would be interacting with me as if I am in their age grade. My peers wouldn't want to be around me because they would feel I am just a kid. I can't get a girlfriend because girls look at me like their younger brothers. this has turned me into a full time introvert . I am really hurt. Even my own father uses my statur to insult me at times . It's only by my thick voice that people can tell that I am grown up and thats not enough.
Guys please help me, I need advice. I am 20 years old and 5 foot 8 inches tall. 5'8" and you're complaining? . What will I now say . Anyway I feel ya, not the baby face part but the small stature . It's just hard having confidence when it seems it's either be tall/big or bust . I just try to hang around 'my people', those I'm free with and trust some other people have sense not to knock you over your stature . |

soberdrunk: Thanks to the disappointment from government for so many years, cynicism has eaten deep into the average Nigerian so very many people believe this whole Covid noise is just government looking for another way to 'cashout' and this is a very dangerous mindset. I only hope that whatever is keeping the numbers down continues to keep it down because it obviously isn't our attitude towards Covid....... true. I hope it doesn't change or we start hearing of our own variant . |

Viridis: Truth be told constitutionally they can't. Even though they do control police to an extent but not enough to mobilize them and secure the whole state. State police is the way! so what's with governors walking with commissioners side by side and you'd think they give orders . On what ground do governors even order them to enforce curfews and arrest and prosecute people for flouting covid protocols(tho I've always questioned the legality behind this particular one) |

Nigeria is far behind country. Zero . You can't do what you can't do and we'll have to contend with that. Even the proposed 100,000 doses . I don't know if it's laudable but vaccine can wait cos right now I don't see how it'll help anything . |

Escobar98: 1) February 20 we’re resuming virtually
2) 288 is really good score for Computer Science. Since 288/8 is 36. Out of 50% for JAMB you garner 36/50 already. Not bad.
Average Computer Science dept cut off mark is 68. So 68 minus 36 (that you’ve got already) equals 32. 32 times 2 equals 64. So you need 64 or more in your PUTME. Smash 70 and you’re good. Your JAMB score is advantageous.
Edit: last cut off mark for Computer Science is 64. This year it’ll be around 66. Just prepare well for your PUTME. Your JAMB got you covered, mate.
3) I’m not sure but around April does that include mbbs students? The virtual learning that is. |

JoshOxborn: Everything is cramming and memorizing theories! I hate to say this, she shouldn't be a proud pharmacist if she can't sit down and produce drugs simple antibacterial drugs.
It's not her fault, but the system is wack. I can never be proud of my course if I can't put it to use, and engineering student can't even build a toy car, they don't practice engineering but they cram how it works without having a clue how to get started.
What a useless country, China and Japan are innovating new, superb, and awesome technologies, Nigeria is here teaching the students how to cram for 8hrs when the real deal is practicals and more practicals, let us see what you can build and create with your knowledge! pharmacy isn't about production though . |

9icedudie: This may seem like a good idea but in true sense it's very shallow. Social science and art courses are not always theory based. Theatre and performing arts are highly practical inclined...same goes for fine arts and music.
how many of our university lecturers are conversant with modern technology? for instance organizing a zoom meeting. For this to happen, there's a need to organize a workshop for these lecturers to make them vast in the guy in the area of technology. well it doesn't mean they have to send ALL non-science/lab students home. Just when it's not totally necessary for some to be present in school at the same time with others. Your second point, isn't it what some them are doing? I mean uniabuja and announced a workshop for that, don't know how it panned out though. We just have to do something . |

adexpa: Life evolves and so everything thereof, we need to understand that every challenge (e.g covid-19) came with equal blessings but it takes openness of mind to digest and identify it. So many activities have gone online this days as a result of restrictions placed on Individuals in order to curb the covid-19, many organizations does their work online and likewise many schools. I support the motion that government and individual bodies needs to look into the idea of online activities holistically and vet out ways it can be a blessing for everyone. It is not a must to be at the four wall of school before we can learn, and I think it will be a plus because we will be able to do many other things while we're still pursuing a degree, one should not be stuck in school just for a degree. It should be an holistical view and will be moderated n perfect over time. nah Nigerian students are tired of the four walls they've seen for close to a year now . |

Private universities can be allowed to remain opened as they don't have the population public universities have. Science, Medicine and Engineering students can remain on campus but must observe all due protocols. even if they try to do something like that people will still kick . |
